Iyanna's POV
I froze in one spot because I wasn't sure what to do, this I never expected. He was sound asleep so I thought if I left quietly he wouldn't know I was there.
I switched the light off, "who is that?" he asked. I switched the light back on. "Iyanna, what are you doing here?"
That's the first time he called me by name.
"I'm sorry, I didn't know you were here, I will leave." I walked out of the room, picked my little bag up from the couch then proceeded to run out of the house. I wasn't even thinking how I would get back to The Manor, I just had to leave.
"Iyanna wait!" He yelled but ignored him and kept walking as fast as I could until I hit my foot on something and fell to the ground. I grabbed my ankle and screamed out in pain.
I could hear him running towards me, shouting my name over and over until he reached me and dropped to his knees beside me.
"Let me see," He removed my hand from my ankle to inspect it. "I told you to stop, it's dark out here and there are a lot of rocks on this side, you have to be careful," he scolded.
"I didn't know. I wanted to -"
"Come let me take you back inside."
He took my bag and threw it across him then lifted me from the ground and took me back to the cottage. He placed me on the couch and took my shoes off. "It's not broken but you banged it really bad," he said.
To me it felt like it was broken, if I tried to move my foot at all, it hurt like hell.
"It hurts really bad," I winced
"Hold on, let me get some ice to put on it."
I believe he thinks Ice was medication. I tried pulling my foot up to look at it but it hurt just by trying to move it. He returned with an ice pack and placed it on my ankle.
"It's not swollen as yet, probably just tender. The ice will help to relax your muscles ."
"I am never coming back to this house, first a bee stung me and now this, it's a sign."
"Maybe you should stop running so much that these things wouldn't happen to you."
He should have said stop running away from him.
"I didn't know you were here, I just wanted to listen to the ocean while I slept."
"I thought you were stalking me or you came to kill me," he said.
"Why would I stalk you?"
"No opposed to killing me?"
Maybe because you would have deserved it.
"Or that." I said and he laughed.
"Well if you had to run from the house to here that means you are in some form of distress and I may be the cause of it."
You think?
"I don't let people bother me so much. I just felt like the ocean brought me some form of happiness and I wanted to be closer to it, plus I couldn't sleep."
Why was I explaining myself so much?
"So it had nothing to do with me?" he asked.
I looked away from him and onto my ankle that he was holding firmly into his hands, "No, you didn't bother me at all," I answered.
"That's good to know, a country girl with tough skin is always good to have around when things get hectic."
"You keep referring to me as a country girl like it's an insult. Am I supposed to take offence to that?" I asked him.
