Chapters 12 - Roaring Waters

Iyanna's POV

"Iyanna, this George," Satte said as she pulled a tall blonde haired fellow towards Jerrin and I. He was bare feet, in white shorts and no shirt.

"Hello, finally I get to meet the infamous Iyanna," he said. The way he said my name was funny.

"Really, what have you heard about me?" I asked.

"My friend here has nothing but good things to say about you and I also see that you are in the great hands of my other best friend, Mr. Manelle."

He raised his beer to Jerrin.

"I am just keeping her company here on this rock," Jerrin said.

"It's a very beautiful night for a swim right? We should all get naked and take a dip."

I quickly looked at Jerrin with my eyes wide open, Jerrin shook his head, "Don't worry about it" he whispered.

"Thank God," I replied.

"Geo we will pass on this lovely opportunity," Jerrin said.

"You don't know what you are missing," George sang.

"We will be just fine," Jerrin said and Satte giggled.

"Come with me Satte, we shall be one with nature and the sea!" he shouted.

Satte began removing her clothes all while laughing giddily, "Are you serious?" I ask in amazement.

"She is serious," Jerrin said.

I laughed as Satte, clad in only her bra and panties, took George's hand and ran towards the roaring waters.

"It's so lovely out here at night time. It feels as if I'm on an island in some paradise," I said to Jerrin.

"This was our little place, we did everything here. The memories all of us made growing up in Whishore are unforgettable, '' he said.

"Now it's only you,Satte and George?"

"Yes only us, the three less unfortunate ones,' he said but with a wide grin.

"Have you ever wanted to leave Whishore?"

"Not really, my father and I had plans to build a farm on our land. I wanted to supply meat and most vegetables but after he died, everything just went down from there."

"So what's stopping you from doing it?"

"I don't have the money. I have to send my brother and sister to school and still provide for my mother, so I don't have much savings."

I understood his story all too well, my father was in a similar situation until he gambled, won big and was able to buy our house and the farmlands. Too bad he did not win all the time.

I looked out at George and Satte playing happily in the water like they had no care in this world.

"They are so happy," I said,

"These two have always been the happiest out of the bunch."

"Will the others come back to Whishore?"

"They do sometimes but never stick around for too long. Derman is a doctor out in Leesburg which is close to here, he has a daughter and a girlfriend. Leena is travelling, she only returns for special occasions" he said.

"So it's a big celebration when everyone gets together?"

"Not really, more for George and Satte but for the rest of us there is a lot of complicated history."

I Think I knew what he meant.

"I have never been anywhere outside of Westborn until I got here, I only heard stories of towns and cities but never thought I would get the chance to visit them."
