Satte's POV

"The rain came down faster than I expected," Mother said.

It really did. This made me think that Wishore needed some form of cleansing.

Never expected that we would be having a thunderstorm, it's almost fall." I replied.

"Things and time change, I am glad for the storm, most of us needed to stay inside anyways," Fian said.

"You are such a silly girl. Please keep her in your prayers mother,'" I said to her, making Mandell chuckle.

"Satte there is no time for bickering, we need to make sure warm soup is being prepared. There is no telling how long we will be inside."

Mandell already had a huge pot on the stove so I didn't really understand what her fuss was about. Eltha rushed into the kitchen, grabbing a small bowl and poured some broth into it.

"Is that for Mr. Brently?" my mother asked.

"Yes, he asked for something warm," Eltha replied.

"How long are they planning on staying here? The place is a little crowded now. I can't be the only one who thinks that," Fian said.

She has become too blatant with her dislike for the Brentlys and it is getting overbearing now.

"They aren't in your way, Fian," I snapped at her.

"I know but having so many strangers around just makes me uncomfortable, plus now with this storm, unfortunately we will be stuck in here with them."

Here she goes. I could never understand why she was so callous and bitter.

"Well fortunately for you, there is somewhere you could go before the rain comes down any harder. Think about it," I said and she rolled her eyes at me. She knew she didn't want to go back to the trenches of Newick.

"Anyways, I know the best place to be in this storm and—"

"Too bad you won't be able to be there because he is already gone," I said, I followed with shrill laughter.

"Ok, that's enough from you two, we have food to serve soon so please get everything ready at the table."

Fian got quiet and everything she did she did it with anger. I definitely struck a nerve and it made me happy, I could help but to watch her and laugh. My mother and Mandell were lowkey amused.

"Hello, has anyone seen my sister?" Mera asked as she appeared in the kitchen.

"I thought she was in her room," I replied.

"Is your father able to take the soup now?"Eltha asked Mera.

"Yes, my mother will assist him with taking it to him."

Mr. Brently was a strong man and I could see why he was so respected by his family.

"Iyanna has to be somewhere inside the house, it's raining hard outside."

"Will you help me find her Satte?"

"Satte is busy at the moment and maybe your sister doesn't want to be found. She tends to do that alot. Leave her where she is and I promise she will get tired and come out for some attention," Fian said. Mera switched her gaze to her.

"My sister would not go into hiding knowing my father's situation and also with us being here," said Mera.

"Oh dear, one thing about being at Wishore, you will learn to be selfish. Your sister has adapted quickly, one of the greatest attributes to attain around these parts."
