Iyanna's POV

The past several days the place has been tense for me. Ira and Derman decided to stay for another week so that Derman could be here for Micas.

They said that he was having a hard time.

For peace to reign over the kingdom, Goffery has decided to send Jerrin home to recover and provide assistants for the Manelles.

Micas was determined that Jerrin will not receive any treatment inside his house and even stopped the doctors from entering The Manor a few times.

"It's so peaceful here," Ira said as we gazed off into the sunset. She was keeping my company at the cottage where I asked Goffery if I could stay for a while.

I felt like my presence in the house did more harm to Micas so I did my best to stay away as much as I could.

"It really is, this is the only place I feel at peace right now, the ocean calms me."

To me there was more peace being at the cottage and closer to the kitchen even though I still heard everything that was going on at The Manor.

"I'm really sorry you are hurting like this Iyanna but I know it will get better."

"Will it? Remember I am an outsider that is being blamed for everything and If I should leave I won't feel better with myself, I will be a complete failure."

"I understand but Goffery said you could leave if you wanted to but on the other hand, do you really want to go back to Westborn?"

Even that crossed my mind and I was embarrassed to think that I didn't want to go back there but be somewhere else with my family if I could.

Somewhere so far that Micas wouldn't be able to find me.

"If I have no choice then that's where I will have to go back and live the life I was destined to, a simple country farm girl."

"You are not a simple girl Iyanna, stop downing yourself like that."

"Why not? Everyone here keeps reminding me of who I am and where I am from. The little green eyed stray."

She chuckled.

"Who said that?"

"Well they didn't say it exactly like that but you get it."

"He was only upset with you Iyanna, we all knew he didn't mean that."

Well he said it and I and others heard him loud and clear.

"It changes nothing Ira, anyway I am going to see Jerrin and take something to him, I hope you will stay until I get back."

"I will be here watching the sunset or do you want me to come with you?"

"That would be really sweet, he could use another friendly face," I said.

Since Derman, George and Satte clearly took Micas' side.

"Alright let's go before Mr. Mason decides to pick me up."

I took the soup off the stove and placed it into a bag then we left for the hills to the Manelles house.

Micas' POV

"You know I can cheer you up right?"

I laid on my bed going through my phone, searching for somewhere I could take a long overdue trip to, completely ignoring the chatter from Fian.

The places that weren't so far from Wishore were all experiencing a rush of tourist visits and I wasn't in the mood for noise or mingling. I wanted to be left alone.
