Iyanna's POV
I was restless in the house without anything to do and decided to sit and watch them work in the kitchen.
Mrs. Manalle scolded me a couple times about not getting man hands into anything so I finally sat down and watch them work.
"Now it's your chance to sit and watch them work the stove," Luwart said and I laughed.
"Thank you for having patience with me, I promised I was not hard headed, just alway moving so I can't retain much at once."
"You are the nicest person I know, Iyanna, you are worth the burden, " he said and we both laughed.
"Iya, do you know how many people the bread could serve?"
That I wasn't sure of. Thela always does this so effortlessly. Then again it's my first day so it would not be fair to compare myself to her.
"Just use what's there, if we need more I will send someone to the Manor for some."
"Hello everyone, I see things are going well," Goffery said as his entrance to the kitchen was a surprise.
"We are getting on just fine," Mrs. Manelle replied to him.
He smiled as he looked around, I could tell that he was pleased with the outcome of the kitchen. From pot to pot he went smelling and feasting his eyes on everything.
I was glad that he came at the right time because lunch was about to be served and I wanted him to get a taste of the first meal that was prepared in the new kitchen.
"Iyanna, heard you had an accident."
He walked over to me and took my hand to inspect it.
"Yes, the bleeding has stopped. Micas gave me some stitches and told me that I should rest my hand."
He smiled at me. "You know he will make a good doctor someday If really takes his profession seriously" I returned this smile, "He really would," I said.
"He needs encouragement that I can't give."
I only managed to smile.
"So what's for lunch today?" he asked.
Before I could answer one of the men from Goffery's security ran into the kitchen holding a phone out to him.
"Sir, it's Micas, he has been in an accident."
"No, dear God," Satte cried out.
I rose to my feet but was unable to move or even move. The fear that gripped my heart was unexplainable
Goffery retrieved the phone from the shaking hand of the man and placed it to his ears. I guess it was fear from what he might hear, it took him a moment to speak.
"This is Valant," he spoke calmly.
It seemed as if time had stopped. We all waited in silence for the next words from him but they never came. He just handed the phone back to the man and walked out of the kitchen.
"What happened?"
That was a question I knew for sure that no one was able to answer right now. I sat back on the chair and Satte joined me.
"Did he say where he was going?" she asked.
"No, he helped with my hand, we spoke briefly, I asked him to stay but he said he had to go. That is all."
"I think it's best that we go to The Manor and wait there until we hear something."
"Is this my fault?"
