Micas' POV
Phone Conversation
"I am miserable so I will be leaving soon for Peru, come with me."
"Micas I am not you, I am a whole doctor, I can't just get up and leave to Peru for 6 months."
"You can, you just don't want to, Derman."
"Micas Valant for once in your life, find something that will make you stand still."
I laughed.
"Unfortunately I am not you Derman Mason, I like moving."
"Stop for a moment, Valant. Anyways I have to go, call you tomorrow so you can see your pretty little niece. Take care of yourself my brother."
"You too sir."
I hung up the phone and picked up my book to continue reading. I reached for my glass on the table but the ice had melted so I had to go get some more.
There was a little noise coming from the opposite side on the outside of my room and I decided to take a look.
I got to the top of the stairs and noticed that a figure was moving at the bottom. Before I said anything I made a keen observation as to what was going on.
The head came up from under the stairs making me realise that it was Miss Brently.
"What is she doing?" I whispered.
I hid by the large column as she spoke with Satte. I could hear their conversation and it was very clear that Satte was sucking up to her. I felt like that is something I will have to fix soon.
They left for the kitchen and I waited a little before I headed to where she was moving around under the stairs.
"What is this?"
A little brown bag with bread, vegetables and different meat cuttings were wrapped separately in it. I took the bag back to my room and emptied everything out on the floor and noticed there was a note there also.
I opened it and began to read. So she was sending notes back home to her family instead of using a phone? I folded the note and placed it into my back then made my way to the kitchen.
I burst into the kitchen with my glass in my hand, "I have run out of ice and it's gotten really hot around here lately, I need to be cooled down." I said and everyone laughed.
"I will refill it and give you a bucket to take with you Mr. Valant" Fian said.
"Fian, I would love it if you take the bucket to my room," I said.
"I will sir,' she said.
"Thank you."
My eyes caught Iyanna who was sitting in a corner doing her best to avoid looking at me so I made sure she saw me by walking over to her.
"Are you overseeing the kitchen?"
She lifted her head to look at me and rolled her eyes, "I don't answer to you" she said.
"Said who?"
"Me," she answered.
"You do know you work for me right?" I asked.
"Really? Let's see," she said.
"Fian, forget about bringing the Ice to me, let Miss Brently here bring the bucket to my room instead."
The kitchen got really quiet as she and I stared at each other until it was broken by Mandell.
"Miss Brently, the tea is ready Ma'am" he said.
