 Iyanna's POV

I stayed in the room and cried as often as I could and waited for the next day. I didn't even have a drink of water, just laid in bed and ignored all the knocks on my door which seemed to come more often than I expected.

The phone was in my hand and everytime I decided to send Mera a message to tell her to let us run away together, my hands got weak.

This was selfish of me trying to bring Mera into this but I felt too scared to go alone and I feel if she was with me then our parents would understand.

It was hard being separated from her, especially now that I felt like I had no one on my side. I scrolled through the pictures that she sent me and it always surprised me how much we look alike.

"You bring me so much peace my little sister." I held the phone to my chest wishing I could hug her.

Someone banged on my door so loud that I literally jumped off the bed. I stood there wishing they would go away but they kept knocking.

"Yes?" I said with anger as I opened the door to the face of Thela.

"Are you ok?"

No I am not ok and you don't care if I am.

"Yes, I am fine."

"Goffery is requesting to see you."

It had to be something like this however I had some respect for him so I had no other choice to adhere to his request.

"Tell him I will be there in a minute, I need some time to get myself together."

She nodded her head and removed herself from my door. I went back to my room to freshen up, brushed my hair, slapped on some light makeup and said a prayer,

I paced the room for a little while before I decided to leave to see Goffery. I changed my clothes, checked the internet for the news until I was satisfied, then finally I put my shoes on and made my way to his study.

"You wanted to see me sir?"

He looked up at me then gestured for me to have a seat before him.

"I heard that you weren't feeling well?

Hmm, wonder where he heard that form?

"Too much was going on and I needed a little time away to recoup."

My bags are packed and I am still planning to run away as soon as I get the chance. There is no way I can stay here and be blamed for everyone's childish behaviour.

"Have you?"

"Maybe a little but I know I will be ok soon."

He got up from his seat, walked to where I sat and stopped when he was satisfied with how close he was to me, I assumed.

"You see how bad the Manelle boy looks?"

I took a deep breath because every time I was reminded of his face I felt like throwing up.

"Yes, horrible, a very unfortunate situation to be in."

"It really is and his mother is fuming, she cursed me out today and I had to just accept it."

"Pardon my manners sir, but she has every right to be upset as a mother. Also he is the main breadwinner of his family so I believe that her anguish is justifiable," I said as I held his attention.

"You are right Miss Brently, she has every right to be upset. Micas has placed me into a very complicated situation."

"Yes he has but it's up to you to make the Manelles a little comfortable right now."
