Alyssa Pov
I walk into the firehouse and thankfully my dad remembered to bring my bag! I change into my uniform and grab some breakfast from the kitchen. Eddie, Chimneys and Hen don't come in till later.
We got a couple of small calls in the morning. We just finished a call and I'm backing the truck into the station. I love driving the truck lol! How we always did it was I would drive, my dad in the passenger seat and then Eddie, Hen, chimney and Buck would be in the back. I feel weird are not having Buck here. When I get out of the truck after it's parked I noticed my friends are here.
"Hello" I say to chimney, Eddie and Hen
"How the morning been" Chimneys asks
"It be good, couple calls but good! How is your guys morning" I say
"Good, oh can you watch Danny for a couple of hours later" Hen says and I nod. My shifts are not as long as they used to be because my dad wants me to start out a little bit slow. Before I can even say anything the bell goes off. I hop back in the driver seat and wait for the all clear to drive. When we arrived turns out a car went off the The Cliff on the cliff gave away.
"We better get to work before they lose any more ground, Eddie set up the winch. Alyssa I want you to go down there and anchor the vehicle! take it slow, too much weight in this Cliffside can come down and we don't want the car to go along with it. and try to calm the kids down if you can" my dad says and I nod. When it comes to calls when there's kids involved my dad usually has me try to calm the kids down before they freak out completely and things could possibly go wrong. I go to the truck and I get myself geared up to go down
we get ourselves connected to the rope and we start making our way down. Chimney is coming with to check on the mother. I slowly make my way down as dirt and rocks are sliding with every step I take. When I get there I hook up the car.
"Hey, I'm Alyssa. What is your names" I say Nice and soft and try not to scare them more
"I'm Camden, he's Jesse" Camden says
"We i'm gonna get you out of here safe and sound. You're in good hands" I say and then nods. Right after I say that the car start sliding
"No, no, no, no" Chimneys yells as the car slides and we start losing our balance also.
"The car started shifting" I yell as loud as I can so they can hear from above since I can't get to my radio in time
"Alyssa, Chim, what's your status" Bobby says over the radio checking to make sure we're ok
"All good cap" i say once I get myself settled and no longer sliding
"All good cap" Chim says
"The damn car dropped another 20feet" i say into the radio. We slowly make our way down again towards the car. I know those kids are more terrified now
"You guys ok" I say once we make it to the backseat window. We hear the truck honk which means it's time to take one of them up
"That's our signal to move" Chim says
"Camden, you're gonna" Chim says but is interrupted by Camden speaking
"Take Jesse first" Camden says
"I'm not leaving mom" Jesse says, The kids start talking about who should go first. They make the decision that Jesse goes first
"Come on, Jesse. Grab onto me. You'll see each other at the top" I say pulling Jesse into my arms and I hold onto him protectively as he hold onto me
"Passengers secured, green light" I say into the radio telling them to pull me up. They start pulling the rope up and we make our way to the top. When we get up there I put Jesse on the ground and I sent him right to Hen to get checked out. Now it's time to get the mom! I head back down there with the basket to help our chimney to get the mom
"Ok Alyssa, hold the basket steady while I get the Mom in" Chimney says and I nod. I hope the basket steady while chimney moved the Mom into the basket. I head back up with them on to make sure she gets up to the top safely. When we get up there they quickly move her to the gurney. I stay with Eddie to help out if it is needed.
"Nice work" he says and I nod
"I feel Bad for the kids, they were terrified" I say next thing we know part of the cliff goes and Eddie protectively pulls me to the side. If you did not move I would've went possibly with it.
"Cap, we're running out of time" Eddie says right after he pulls me out of the way
"Get ready to cut her loose" Cap says talking about cutting the rope connected to the car. We run over to where it's connected to and we wait for a signal
"Now" Bobby yells and Eddie cuts the rope connected to the car. Everything ends up going in a good direction and we can send them to the hospital and then we head back to the house. We get out of the trucks and we stock the trucks for the next time we have to go out I am snapped out of what I'm doing when I get a text message.
Unknown: great work today darling
Unknown: you're amazing at your job
Me: how did you know where I was
Unknown: I always know!
I put my phone back in my pocket and I take a deep breath.
"Hey you ok" Eddie ask and I nod. And give him a hug which catches him a little bit off Guard
"Never let go" i say and he nods
"Never" he says but I soon have to bring apart when we get another call. The rest of the day was full of calls and then I ended up watching Danny for a little bit once my shift was up
