Chapter nine

A/N: long chapter, this is the most words I have wrote in any of my book so far!

Alyssa Pov

It's been a couple of days since the cemetery call as Athena keeps giving me threatening looks! What did I do to her? Absolutely nothing! I nicely introduce myself to her and I always been nice to her! Never mean or rude!

I've been staying back from calls cause I don't want to get involved with her in anything. I'm keeping my distance from her and I don't think anyone noticed yet. My dad been asking if I've been ok or if something bothering me. I don't want him to worry or go off at Athena. He really loves her and you can tell! But I think it's time I tell him, I can't keep this from him. I want to be back out there helping people! Not running from fear! I'll do it after dinner!

I head upstairs to find Eddie and Chimney setting the table while my dad is cooking in the kitchen with Athena. Great she here, just great!

"Hey Alyssa" Eddie says with a smile

"Hey Edmundo" I say and he looks at me annoyed. He hates being called that but he only lets me call him that. Recently I've been feeling a connection to him, almost like we're meant to be but it probably wouldn't happen.

"What" I say giggling

"Only for you" he says and I giggle more. I wish he would ask me out. God Alyssa get over it, it will never happen!!

"Ok everybody let's eat" Bobby says bring over a couple of bowls with some type of pasta recipe. We all sit at the table, I sit across from my father and Athena sits next to him. We start talking and eat. But I can feel Athena looking at me from time to time with a not so good look. Seriously what is her problem?

I eat my food slowly and every time I look up, she looking at me. I can't do this anymore. I don't care that I'm doing this in front of everyone but I can't live like this!

"Athena, I have a question for you" I say

"Ok" she ask confused but you can tell she knows what I'm gonna ask

"Do you have a problem with me" I ask which grabs everyone attention including my fathers

"What do you mean" she ask

"You keep giving me threatening and dirty looks and I want to know why? I've haven't done anything wrong to you or anyone" I ask

"I do it for a reason and you did do something wrong" she says and I look confused

"What did I do wrong" I ask her

"Well I did some digging and there Alyssa Green anywhere. No birth certificate, no records of anything. I knew something was off about you! No story about family or childhood, very quiet about your life" she says and I stay silent not knowing what to say.

"So tell me who the hell you are" she says seriously

"I'm Alyssa Green with a rough childhood" I say and she nods no

"No tell me who you really are cause it not Alyssa Green and if you don't tell me, the station is you next stop in you life" she say really annoyed and in serious tone. I stand up and put both my hands on the table

"Fine you really want to know who I am" I ask her and she nods. Everyone look at me with a confused but want to know the truth

"My name is Alyssa Marie Nash! Daughter of the captain of the 118. Kidnapped when she was little and escaped when she was 19! Went into hiding cause people will hunt me down just to take me back to the awful place I was kept. Every day I'm scared that I will be found and taken from my father who I found out was alive. I barely make enough to put a roof over my head. I try work my ass off every day to get a job until I got this job! I feel like I have a family for once! Thats, that's who I am" I say with tears rolling down cheeks.
