I'm currently getting changed into my uniforms and about to head to the fire house. My dad made me a delicious breakfast which I eat around 11 because my shift is not till one. I hop in my car and I drive to the firehouse. When I get there I park my car and I had inside. I can tell they probably just got back from a call because Hen is restocking one of the trucks but I don't see anyone else around. It takes her 10 seconds to notice I'm looking at her but when she notices me she screams which catches everyone's attention
"AHHHH OMG OMG OMG" Hen yells which makes everyone come from where they are
"Hey" I say excited but nervous. Hen runs up to me and gives me the biggest hug
"Your back" she says and I nod
"Am I dreaming" she asks me and I nod no
"No your not" I say
"I feel like I am, Am I boys? Please tell me I'm not cause I really missed this girl" She asks Chimney, Buck and Eddie who are watching us
"Nope your not, she really here" Chimney says
"Where we're you" Buck asks me
"Minnesota where I grew up for 10 years and then taken" I say with a smile
"It's great to have you back Nash" Eddie says and you can tell it's awkward around both of us
"Thanks Diaz" I say with a smile trying to make it not awkward
"Next person to get back her is cap" Buck says and I nod
"Yup" I say
"So you back working with us" Chim asks and I nod
"Yes and if you don't believe me ask the chief I was in contact with him a week ago" I say and they nod
"I really missed you guys. It was nice to be away from everything but hurt at the same time" I say
"Why did you leave" Buck asks and I look at Eddie for a second and then everyone else
"I wasn't in a good head space, on Christmas everything was fake. I just want to lay in bed and stare at the ceiling like I did for a week. I felt trapped like I had no where to go and it scared me. Last time I felt like that was with my ex when I was 18 and 19" I say with tears rolling down my cheeks. I feel someone hug me and I noticed that it's Eddie
"Thanks" I say and he nods
"Well your better now and with people who care about you and love you" Hen says and I nod
"Thanks but I just wanna get back out there and hopefully feel complete again" I say and they nod. I help Hen restock the trucks when everyone else goes back to doing what they were doing. That's until we get a call.
"Alyssa your driving" Chim says and I nod. I get the location and I start driving once it's all clear to go. We arrive at the house and head inside to help a girl who fell off her chair but also had a maggot come out of her face eww
"Over here, my arm" she says in pain
"I can feel it but I can't move it. Like really hurts on my shoulder" she says
"Looks like a fractured clavicle" I says And I go into the bag to get some thing that would be a perfect sling
"dispatch said something about an animal" Chim says
"Yeah, It came out of my face" she says
"What are we looking for exactly" Eddie asks
"It was like a little, little worm or like a little grub maybe" she says
"Like a maggot" Hen says
"Oh don't says maggot" the girl says grossed out
"Maggot" Buck says finding it
"You been out of the country lately" I asks her as we're getting a little wrap on her
"Uh yeah, I actually do a lot of traveling for work" she says
"What do you do" Chim asks her
"Uh i'm a beauty and fashion influencer" she says
"Has your circle of influence included Central and South America" Hen asks her
"No, no. I mean I did just get back from Belize" she says
"Belize is in central America" Eddie says
"Oh are you sure" she asks
"Pretty sure" Eddie says
"Botfly, parasite indigenous to Central and South America including Belize. They reproduce by trapping mosquitoes and laying there eggs on them. And then when the mosquito lands on you the egg hatches and crawl right into the feeding site" Hen says which grosses me out
"Lucky it looks like you got it out all in one piece" Buck says looking at the maggot
"They'll be able to extract the rest at the hospital" Hen says and hehe girl freaks out
"The rest" she says and I nod
"Think of them as new followers" Chim say which makes Buck laugh
"Gross" she says and we get her on the gurney
"Oh my god wait, no no no no, can somebody grab my phone" she says and Buck and Eddie go for the phone. We bring her to the hospital and then head back to the station.
We all go upstairs to go eat or chill. I end up making a snack and some other things for people in the firehouse. I am snapped out of my thoughts when my phone rings and I noticed it's my dad
"Hey dad" I say answering my phone
"It's going good"
"Yeah, is everything ok"
"What!!" I yell which catches everyone's attention
"Is everyone ok"
"That's good, do you want me to come"
"Ok, keep my updated"
"Love you, bye" I say and hang up my phone. I see Hen, buck, Chim and Eddie come up to me concerned
"Is everything ok" Eddie asks me and I nod no
"A package got sent to Athena's, it was one of them. Everyone's ok and nothings destroyed" I say and Hen looks at me
"Oh god" Hen says and I nod
"My dad wants me to be cautious, in case I'm on the guys list. They have an idea of who's doing this" I say and they nod
"I wish this would end" Chim says
"You and me both chim" I say
We are all chill for a while and we don't have a call until when it gets dark out. Little do you know we're not making it to the call......
