Chapter nineteen

Alyssa Pov

I'm currently in the guestroom at Athena's which kind of turned into my room ever since I started staying with them after the incident. I just got dressed into my uniform that I haven't worn since the incident. This brings back a lot of memories. I'm snapped out of my thoughts when Athena is knocking at the door

"Hey you ok baby girl" she says and I nod

"Are sure cause you look like you're about to cry" she says concerned and I didn't even know my eyes were starting to tear up

"Being back in this uniform is bringing back The time of the incident" I say and the tears start falling

"Oh honey, you're ok. You're perfectly healthy and safe. And I know that me and Bobby and the rest of the 118 want let anything happen to you" she says hugging me

"Come on we have to go we're gonna be late" she says and I nod. We get in her car and drive to the fire house. My dad, May and Harry are already there. They went to go help set up while Athena offered to watch me and bring me there. She knew it was gonna be hard for me to put my uniform back on

"It will all be ok, just remember you're going to the fire house but you're not doing actual work we're celebrating Eddie" she says and I nod

"Yeah I know it's just I'm panicking inside and I don't know how to stop it" I say and she nods

"You'll be fine, Think of this you're with people who love you and care about you and you're having a good time. I'll be there the whole time if you need me" she says and I nod. We pull into the parking lot and head inside, there's a bunch of tables set up next to the trucks. Thankfully we won't get any calls since dispatch got alerted that we're not answering calls for a while. Omg I meeting Eddie parents!

"You ok" she asks me and I nod

"Alyssa" Christopher says coming over to me

"Hey Buddy" I say giving him a big hug. I don't see my dad or Eddie anywhere since they're gonna be walking out of somewhere to enter the room. But I do see two people come up with Eddie Abuela

"Hello and who are you" A women asks me

"Hi, i'm Alyssa Nash. The captains daughter and Christopher's best friend" I say tickling Christopher which makes him giggle and I see her smile.

"I'm Helena and this is Ramon! We're Eddie's parents and it's wonderful to meet you. Christopher was telling us about you" she says and I smile

"It's wonderful to meet you too" I say with a smile trying not to panic inside

"So I heard your a firefighter" Ramon says and I nod

"Yeah, I joined last year, I was top of my class in the Academy" I say and they nod

"That's amazing, Christopher also said that you were injured recently" Helena says and I nod

"Yeah, I was and I'm still out on medical leave. I hope to be returning in two weeks if everything goes well at the doctors next week" I say and she nods

"I'm so glad that you're feeling better" she says and I nod

"Yeah but my father still put me on restrictions when I'm at home. I'm not allowed to do a lot of movement or even drive" I say and she nods

"So tell us about your family" Ramon asks me

"Well my father is the captain of this fire house. My mom's name was Marcy and then I have two siblings, Well had two siblings. Their names were Robert and Brook" I say sadly

"Will they be joining us today" Ramon says and I nod no

"Only my father, my mother and siblings are no longer with us. They passed away from a fire" I say trying to keep it together and not break down and cry in front of everyone but I think May and Maddie could sense it since they both came over to me to take me somewhere different
