It had been a long week since Andy and Mindy had disappeared. John looked over his notes once more, cross-referencing them with the information which he had obtained from Patricia.
"This is certainly foreboding if the rumours are true" wondered John, turning to look at his phone. He had begun to look further into the disappearances, having heard rumours beginning to develop. John couldn't help but feel nervous as he looked towards the centre of his desk.
It displayed two of the Zoo's newest acquisitions. More specifically, it displayed their new Orca Whale. This had caused John to feel uneasy as he recalled how the date lined up with Tyler's appearance in the missing person articles. He then took a glance towards another photo, displaying the Zoo's newest Elephant. The date lined up with Patricia's disappearance as John only felt his worry increase.
"I...I just hope I'm wrong for once" thought John, eyeing the photos of the new wolves which had been added. Despite his misgivings towards Andy, he didn't hold any resentment towards him. He took a final glance towards the missing person articles, finding Andy and Mindy amongst them as he shook his head. He momentarily recalled how the date had lined up with another article from the Zoo, this one promoting their newly acquired wolves.
"Hopefully, they're doing ok" mumbled John, deciding to retire for the evening. His mind was completely scattered and he imagined he wouldn't be any more productive tonight. He left his office as he decided to head downstairs and check on his other housemate.
He noticed Lauren was currently sitting in the living room. She was sipping at what smelled like hot cocoa as she turned to look at John. She felt concerned, mirrored in her expression as she watched John sit down in the nearby chair. His tiredness was obvious
"I agree that it's concerning what might have happened" thought Lauren, worried for Andy and Mindy. "But...I...I wish John wasn't trying to work himself to death to find out what happened" continued Lauren as she turned away. Her cheeks flared a rosy crimson as she tried to suppress her developing feelings.
Lauren's crush on John had only developed over the past week. The pair had been alone throughout the week, Lauren preparing meals and assisting John where she could. She had even been giving him subtle hints about her interest in him. However, John had never seemed to notice or give an indication that he returned her feelings.
"Should I...should I give up?" wondered Lauren internally. She had been trying to get an idea if John was interested in her. However, the only thing he seemed to be focused on was solving the mystery regarding the New Zoo. Part of Lauren was wishing he'd solve the mystery already, secretly hoping that John would pay more attention to her.
John looked at Lauren and smiled. Lauren had certainly been helpful over the past week. He had noticed her hints but given how she seemed to be acting now, had written them off as puppy love.
"How's your day?" asked John, noticing that Lauren had prepared a second cup of cocoa. He accepted it graciously, taking a sip. He nodded to Lauren, silently complimenting her as he placed the cup back down on the nearby table.
"It's been fine, more of the same" replied Lauren. Her online classes had been a rather mixed affair. She had been struggling to concentrate between her conflicted feelings for John and the disappearance of her friends. Her expression had twisted somewhat, her unease present as it became impossible to mask her feelings.
"You're concerned?" said John knowingly, having read her expression.
"Yes...just concerned about Andy and Mindy" replied Lauren, opting to ignore her suppressed feelings for John.
"I think I might..." started John, finding his tiredness catching up to him before he could finish the sentence. Fatigue had taken over as he fell asleep in the chair.
"John?" questioned Lauren, having noticed that John had fallen asleep in the chair. She chuckled softly, feeling tired herself as she managed to stand up. She walked over towards John, grabbing the half-drunk cup of cocoa as she looked down at him.
In her dazed state, she felt a thought come over her. Before she could react, it overwhelmed her as she bent down. She gave a soft kiss to John's forehead as her cheeks flushed with embarrassment as her mind caught up to her body.
Despite her embarrassment, she couldn't help but...like it.
"Sleep well John," said Lauren softly as she headed towards the kitchen. She placed the cups which had previously contained cocoa in the sink. She then left the kitchen, heading upstairs as she yawned. She needed to head to bed, get some sleep.
After all, Lauren had classes in the morning...and sweet dreams to look forward to.
In Another Part Of Town:
"How did we get all this?" asked Elizabeth, eying the table full of various information.
"The benefit of having proper connections" replied Rebecca. She still appeared to be in a bad mood following the earlier reveal. Elizabeth paid her no mind, looking towards Charlotte who was staring intently at the information below.
Their Landlord had truly gone above and beyond. Following the misfire with the wolves, Rebecca had made a few calls to their Landlord for support in their scheme. Within hours, their Landlord had responded, providing them with information regarding John and the people close to him.
Information that could prove to be very useful in the future.
"For now, however..." started Charlotte, getting the attention of the others. "How do we lure him out of that house?" asked Charlotte, pointing down at the map.
"Well...according to this" began Elizabeth, shifting through the other papers. She smiled as she found what she was looking for. "He lives with a woman named Lauren...perhaps we use her to lure him to us?" said Elizabeth.
"That would depend on whether John cares about her" replied Rebecca, noticing the drop in Elizabeth's expression. "Still...we could always do with new additions to the Zoo" continued Rebecca, feeling herself calming despite her frustration.
"Ok, so what should we do for now?" asked Elizabeth, giving an annoyed glance to Rebecca.
"We should bide our time, wait for more information" replied Rebecca. "After all, John hasn't proven to be too much of a nuisance yet. Even if he gets worse, I'm sure our Landlord will help us deal with it" said Rebecca, noticing the others nod in response.
"I suppose we'll retire for now?" said Charlotte, standing up. She grabbed a couple of the files from the table, deciding it would make for some interesting nighttime reading as Elizabeth decided to head into the living room. Her cartoons were almost on and after everything that had happened recently, she could do with a laugh.
"Ok, I'll be at the Zoo tomorrow, we have some soon-to-be new additions coming tomorrow" called out Rebecca, noticing the other nodding in understanding. Rebecca then headed up the stairs herself, deciding to get an early night for tomorrow.
Despite what had happened, Rebecca couldn't help but feel her excitement growing as the Zoo got more and more animals. She could feel her dream was coming true as she soon nodded off, awaiting the following day.
The Next Day:
Rebecca wandered under the familiar stone archways of the New Zoo as she beamed with pride.
While she had slept in slightly, she still had plenty of time to prepare. She looked around the Main Hallway, smiling as she could hear the distant sounds of the animals in their enclosures. She was looking forward to when the Main Hallway would be full. Her imagination caused her undisputable joy as she settled outside the Zebra enclosure.
She eyed the herd within, noticing the foal that had formerly been known as Beth. She was quietly suckling from her mother's teat, not paying attention to Rebecca watching her. However, Max turned to face Rebecca, curious at the newcomer.
"No sign of human intellect...perfect," thought Rebecca, smiling as she gazed into Max's eyes. She shrugged her shoulders as she thought back to her encounter with the Cullens. She didn't know much about Max but from his appearance, had decided he likely wouldn't have amounted to much...and his parents had clearly seen better days. While Beth could have possibly amounted to something, it was for the best for Beth to stay with her family.
"I suppose...they're better off being here" mumbled Rebecca, smiling to herself. Her mind began to wander, recalling distant memories. She felt her top pocket reassuringly, feeling her familiar black book within.
"I wonder if my Master would be proud, that I'm finally making something for myself," said Rebecca, looking around the Zoo. She could feel the magic flowing within the enclosures, around the Zoo. She closed her eyes, allowing herself to take it all in as she sensed the various enclosures. The sensation flowing through her felt...oddly familiar.
A sudden spike caused Rebecca to open her eyes, turning her attention to the enclosure opposite. She noticed Coconut staring intently at her. She decided to walk towards him, more and more of her memories returning regarding the sensation she had just been feeling.
"Wait...did I sense his emotions?" thought Rebecca. She recalled once again to her childhood. She had always had a natural tendency to pick up on the emotions of the people around her. Her magic had only enhanced this tendency as she approached Coconut's enclosure.
"He seems...lonely," said Rebecca, picking up on what she was sensing. She could feel that Coconut was rather sad as she wondered what she could do. After all, Jacob had slowly been becoming a favourite of Rebecca's and she wanted to ensure Coconut was happy in his new role.
"I guess that settles the new addition today" stated Rebecca, noticing the nearby clock. It was nearly time for the new additions to arrive. "Don't worry Coconut, you won't be alone soon" said Rebecca reassuringly as she walked down the Main Hallway towards the Office.
She was looking forward to her new additions but she also desired to check the wellbeing of the other animals before they arrived.
Later that Afternoon:
Debbie and Evan walked under the large stone archways of the New Zoo.
Debbie was of medium build as she wore fairly casual clothes composed of blue shorts and a pink sleeveless shirt. She wore a white sunhat which was useful as the sun was particularly strong today. Her hair was freshly dyed blond that morning as, upon closer inspection, you could still see parts of her natural brown colour shine through. However, She never really cared too much about her appearance as she was able to work from home. She was a website designer for freelance which allowed her to support herself and Evan on a decent income.
They had been given the opportunity to visit the Zoo after receiving two free passes in the mail. They walked into the Main Hallway hand in hand, Evan feeling at ease with his mother nearby as she supported him as he walked unsteadily.
"I still wonder who sent those passes?" thought Debbie. She didn't recall entering any competition but as she stared at Evan once more, she felt her doubts leaving her. She smiled warmly, happy just to have an opportunity to give her son something to enjoy.
Debbie or Deborah, as her actual name was a single mum. She had been left to raise Evan by herself after her ex-husband walked out on her. Looking down at Evan, she knew she had raised him right. Evan was a fairly calm boy, very little phased him. She felt that he had adjusted fairly well to the divorce but also felt unsure if he was holding it in for her sake.
"He's always been a quiet boy," thought Debbie, feeling doubts about Evan's feelings. "I hope he knows he can tell me anything," thought Debbie, pushing her doubts from her mind as she glanced back down at her son.
Evan glanced up at his mother curiously. His brown hair was showing small signs of sweat as his red baseball cap offered as much protection as it could from the overbearing sun. He was wearing a pair of blue shorts and a simple yellow t-shirt. He was fairly small for his age but was able to walk well enough with the support of his mother. He tightened his grip around his mother's hand, feeling uneasy within the zoo for some reason he couldn't fully understand.
"Evan? Are you alright?" asked Debbie, concerned as she looked down at her son.
"I'm...I'm scared" replied Evan softly, staring at the ground. Debbie bent down, staring directly at her son. She could sense his concern as she was tempted to leave. She was hoping this day out would help Evan come out of his shell.
Maybe this was a mistake? was there still a chance?
"Why don't we look around for a little while longer? see if that puts you at ease?" offered Debbie. Her warm smile helped reassure Evan. "If you're still uncomfortable, then we can go home," added Debbie. Evan seemed to be considering his mother's offer before nodding his head in agreement.
"Ok, let's..." started Debbie, picking up Evan in her arms. "Go see some animals!" finished Debbie enthusiastically, smiling at Evan. The smile forming on his face caused Debbie to feel warm inside. She truly adored her son and had already planned to take him out for ice cream later.
As the pair walked through the Main Hallway, Debbie took a moment to admire the fine architecture. The pair looked around, noticing many different animals as Evan's mouth gaped open in awe. He truly seemed to be taking an interest in the animals as Debbie's smile widened.
"Mission accomplished," thought Debbie, feeling satisfied inside as they continued to head down the Main Hallway.
The pair stopped outside of one of the enclosures which according to a nearby label was for a 'Cheetah'. Debbie looked inside, Evan doing the same. After a moment, Debbie was able to notice the cheetah residing inside on a nearby tree.
The cheetah had noticed the new spectators as it came down from its tree.
"They need to leave, it's not safe here!" thought the cheetah. It tried to communicate, roaring at the pair. Unfortunately, this had the opposite effect. The cheetah's roar had scared Evan which, in turn, had caused Debbie to move away from the cheetah, intending to comfort her son.
The Cheetah looked at them with concerned eyes as the pair walked away. It then returned to its tree, concerned for the pair but feeling powerless to do anything.
Debbie decided to head back up the Main Hallway with Evan. After all, those animals had seemed to get his interest.
"Evan, you ok?" asked Debbie. Evan nodded, still covering his eyes. He was shaking in Debbie's arms slightly as Debbie's concern for her son returned.
"Is it gone?" asked Evan, Debbie knowing what he was referring to.
"Yes, the scary cat's gone Evan" replied Debbie. She smiled warmly as she gently helped Evan remove his hands from his face. She looked around, trying to find a nearby enclosure to help distract Evan from his experience with the Cheetah.
She noticed a nearby enclosure as she carried Evan towards it. A glance at the nearby sign indicated that the enclosure contained Gorillas.
Or, in this case...Gorilla as Debbie soon noticed the sole resident within the enclosure.
As Debbie glanced at the gorilla, she couldn't help but feel transfixed by him. Unknown to her, the magic of the Zoo was beginning to have a subtle influence on her. The same was occurring to Evan as the pair continued to watch the Gorilla.
"Perfect," thought Rebecca. She had held up her hand as she noticed the newcomers. She could sense Coconut's happiness as she knew exactly what she had to do. "Time to give Coconut his Queen" mumbled Rebecca, smiling wickedly as she began her approach.
Meanwhile, Coconut was eying the pair with interest. He 'smiled' as he realised he would soon be getting what he desired. Coconut snorted at the pair before puffing out his chest. He beat on it, putting on a display of dominance. Evan laughed at this, imitating the gorilla while Debbie continued to watch the gorilla with interest.
"He certainly seems...friendly," thought Debbie, any confusion temporary as her thoughts drifted.
Debbie's thoughts drifted to her ex-boyfriend. She truly thought he was the one but once Evan had come into the equation he was quick to jump ship. It didn't help that the rest of her family had tried to convince her to have an abortion but she pressed on, eventually giving birth to Evan six years ago. She hadn't had much contact with her family since and from what it appeared, they didn't seem to miss her.
She truly did want to start dating again but any of the men she thought looked interesting weren't interested in her having a child. She saw her and Evan as a package deal and to her disappointment, most of the dates she had been on since having seen Evan as a dealbreaker.
"That's always been a shame," thought Debbie. After so many rejections, she had seriously considered forgetting dating and embracing life as a single mother. She noticed that the gorilla had continued to eye her with interest. This snapped her out of her momentary trance as she felt uncomfortable.
"I think we need to leave, this is becoming too weird" mumbled Debbie, turning to leave with Evan still in tow. Evan was still captivated by the gorilla as Debbie's concern began to increase.
"What's going on?" wondered Debbie as she began to feel worried for her son. Something seemed very amiss as she jumped when she felt a hand on her shoulder.
"Sorry...I didn't mean to startle you" said Rebecca. She noticed Debbie's wide eyes at her as she gave the woman a moment to calm down. Evan still seemed rather interested in the gorilla as the women looked at each other.
"My name's Rebecca and may I welcome you to our developing Zoo," said Rebecca, smiling as she held her hand out towards Debbie. Despite Evan's looking over her shoulder, Debbie was able to easily shake Rebecca's hand.
"Hello...my name's Debbie" replied Debbie, introducing herself as she felt her unease growing by the second. She noticed Rebecca staring at something. It only took a moment to see that Rebecca was staring at her son who was still glancing at the gorilla.
"I see your son has taken an interest in our gorilla Coconut," said Rebecca, her smile remaining on her face. "How about I allow the pair of you to go inside the enclosure with Coconut?" offered Rebecca.
Debbie felt unsure about the proposal. Her discomfort hadn't faded as she noticed Evan had returned his attention to his mother. His face looked absolutely adorable and never failed to make Debbie's heart melt.
"Ok, yes, we'll go see Coconut'' replied Debbie, finding it impossible to say yes despite her discomfort
"Splendid" replied Rebecca, her smile widening. "I assure you he's very friendly" continued Rebecca as she began to lead the pair to the back door of the enclosure. As they left, Debbie looked back. She could have sworn the gorilla was smiling.
"Ok, I'm going to let you in now and I'll be back in five minutes" explained Rebecca as Debbie nodded in understanding. Even if she felt uneasy, she couldn't help but feel some happiness inside as she could sense Evan's excitement in her arms. She watched as Rebecca opened the back door.
"Ok, I just want to reassure you once again that he's friendly...you've nothing to fear," said Rebecca as she ushered the pair into the enclosure. As they entered, Rebecca closed the door behind her. Her smile widened as she felt satisfied with herself. Coconut would soon have his mate and hopefully, he'd be happy again.
"It's nice when a plan comes together," thought Rebecca as she began to leave. She needed to get into position for what was to come.
Within the Gorilla Enclosure:
Debbie walked deeper into the enclosure as she looked around. It truly looked beautiful as she noticed the various decorations adorning the enclosure. It had a small tire swing and was covered in many different forms of vegetation but the main standout point was the massive banana tree in the centre which had many ripe bananas hanging from it.
"Stunning" mumbled Debbie, still in awe as she put Evan down momentarily. She continued to admire the enclosure, feeling particularly drawn to the banana tree in the centre. As Debbie was mesmerised by the tree, she failed to notice that Evan had gone off on his own.
Debbie's thoughts regarding the banana tree were soon distracted as she noticed something else observing her. She watched as the gorilla walked forward, eying her intently as if he was examining her. Debbie could barely see but he appeared to have silver hair on his back, indicating he was the silverback, the leader of the troop and was also a male. Debbie didn't know why but she began to feel a heat in her loins.
"What's going on?" wondered Debbie with confusion as she began to feel incredibly turned on. This new thought distracted the trance-like state she was under as she felt a momentary clarity to her current predicament.
Was she really getting turned on by a gorilla?
However, in her clarity, Debbie looked to her side. She quickly noticed that Evan had disappeared.
"EVAN! Evan, where are you?" shouted Debbie as she looked around, not noticing that Coconut had moved closer towards her. His thoughts were focused on one thing and one thing only.
Helping his new mate and queen change into her true form.
Elsewhere:
Evan was currently wandering around aimlessly. He hadn't heard his mother calling out for him as he looked around the enclosure, intrigued, everything looked so real, even the tree in the centre.
"Feel...hungry," thought Evan as his stomach grumbled. His hunger had increased all of a sudden as he decided to reach for a banana in the tree.
It took a few attempts as the bananas were rather high up compared to Evan's short stature. However, after some effort and jumping, he managed to knock one of the bananas free as it fell to the ground. He slipped as he walked forward to claim his prize, his red baseball cap falling from his head.
Evan held the banana in his hand, his mouth watering as he peeled it. He wasn't in a rush to get his hat, after all, he would get it after finishing his banana. He sat down, eying the banana as it looked increasingly appealing to him as he finished unpeeling it. Evan couldn't resist any longer as he quickly devoured the treat. Almost immediately afterwards, Evan felt a tingling begin to spread throughout his body.
"Why...so...itchy?" wondered Evan as he began to scratch his body. The itchiness spread as he continued to scratch, the feeling soon becoming unbearable to the small boy.
Unknown to Evan, black hair was beginning to spread all over him. As he continued to scratch, he felt something push against his t-shirt.
"My shirt feels...uncomfortable" mumbled Evan, his discomfort present on his face. He quickly lifted his t-shirt over his head, oblivious to what he was about to discover moments later.
"Wait...fur?" wondered Evan, feeling intrigued as he looked down to his upper body. He noticed that his body now had black hair spread all over it. It appeared very similar to the gorilla he had seen.
Evan was amazed, he seemed to be transforming into a gorilla. Where anyone would have expected him to feel fear, he only felt joy as he watched his body change. He had always been fond of gorillas when he saw the occasional nature documentary and the idea of becoming one was appealing to his young mind.
"I...I...I won't be alone anymore" mumbled Evan. He smiled as he felt the fur continue to spread around his body. He had never particularly fit in with children his age but now...he didn't need to. He would have his mother who unconditionally loved him to keep him company...and a daddy.
That thought alone caused Evan to have tears of joy in his eyes. However, he was soon distracted by his progressing changes as the sensation seemed to be focusing around his lower body.
Evan felt his legs shifting, growing muscle. They also shrunk slightly as his shorts began to cramp up. The newfound muscle pushed against them as the material soon gave way and the shorts fell to the ground.
"What...ook...going...bark?" said Evan, noticing his words being replaced with the vocals of the gorilla he was becoming. He eyed his toes, feeling them tingle as he watched them lengthen. They appeared to stretch out as if following a simian blueprint. Evan wiggled his developing toes as they changed, stretching out into the true feet of a gorilla.
"Ook, amazing, ook" mumbled Evan, feeling a tingling in his throat as he realised his capacity for human speech was quickly fading. His ears picked up the nearby hoots of the male gorilla...his daddy. The thought caused Evan's excitement to burst out, causing him to shout.
"OOK, OOK, BARK, OOK!" shouted Evan, his high-pitched hoots emanating across the enclosure.
"Wait...what was that?" thought Debbie, her feelings of concern growing as she eyed the Gorilla above her.
Was there another gorilla in the enclosure?
Evan was still unaccounted for as Debbie looked around in a panic. She tried to get up, find the origin of the noise. However, before she could, Coconut seemed to take notice. He pushed Debbie back down, her body being no match for the muscle of the gorilla above her.
The force of the push caused Debbie's hat to fall from her head. She hit the back of her head on the mud, causing her to feel dizzy as a small headache began to develop. "Evan..." mumbled Debbie, feeling faint as she noticed the outline of Coconut over her. Despite her current predicament, the only thing on her mind was the whereabouts of her son.
Currently, Evan was curiously looking over his changing body. He felt amazed as he gave off a few quiet barks and hoots. He felt the fur with his hands, it felt soft, comfortable. As he did so, he felt a tingling occurring in his arms. He barked with excitement as he realised the changes were about to continue.
Evan watched as his hands began to shift and change. The skin darkened, mirroring his new gorilla feet as the texture changed. His fingers shortened, losing flexibility as his palms stretched out. Evan felt a new instinct come over his mind, one that encouraged him to walk on his new hands and feet.
Evan complied, barking excitedly as he forced himself up into position. It felt natural to him as he began to practise walking on his knuckles. Soon, it felt like second nature as Evan felt a soft lock in his back, limiting his ability to be upright. Evan paid it no mind. After all, he was soon to be a gorilla and walking upright wouldn't be necessary for his new form.
Evan hooted in happiness as he felt new instincts entering his mind. His display had opened the floodgates as he felt new thoughts occurring to him, ones that would guide him in his new life ahead. Evan hooted softly in happiness as he was truly embracing what was happening to him.
Evan could feel the tingling sensation spread to his face as excitement once again began to fill him. His transformation would soon be complete. His head began to change, his hair finally being absorbed into the fur that had been spreading all over his form since his changes began. His head began to shift, adopting a crest shape as the only thing left to change was his face. Evan felt his instincts growing in his mind. He looked around, noticing a tire swing hanging from the same tree where the banana came from.
Before Evan could react, he quickly moved towards the tire swing. He jumped up, swinging from it as he let out more hoots of joy. As he did, he felt his face begin to shift, the final changes about to commence.
The soon to be baby gorilla felt his face change as it became leathery. He felt his nose push back into his face, leaving two large nostrils. His teeth sharpened to adapt to his new diet as his head finalised its new shape. Evan's eyes darkened as he continued to swing, completing his transformation. However, despite his transformation there seemed to be some humanity present in his eyes.
The new baby gorilla looked around as he saw the adult silverback and the female human. He smiled, figuring that he already had a daddy and would soon have his mummy to take care of him.
All that needed to happen was for Debbie's changes to finish.
"Well...that was surprising" thought Rebecca, overlooking the enclosure from a distance. "I never expected someone to actually enjoy being changed into an animal" wondered Rebecca, still feeling rather puzzled. The thought of the Cullens re-entered her mind as she smiled. "I was right...some people are just better off as animals," said Rebecca, her smile widening as she felt vindicated.
"Still...I wonder what effect this has on the enclosure?" thought Rebecca. She considered if there would be any difference between someone who embraced the change...and someone who didn't. "I should consider looking into it later" decided Rebecca, returning her attention to Debbie. She turned her camcorder towards Debbie, intrigued with how Debbie would react to everything going on.
"But for now...the show must go on," said Rebecca, her smile sadistic as she looked forward to what was to come.
Meanwhile:
Debbie began to stir, recovering from her hard push against the ground. She felt her vision returning as she noticed that Coconut was still staring at her. She felt the heat within her loins flare up once again as she felt frustrated and confused.
"What's going on?" said Debbie, panic in her voice. Whatever was going on wasn't normal as tears came to her eyes. She couldn't possibly be being turned on by a gorilla!. However, before she could properly focus, she saw something in the corner of her eye. She turned to see whatever she saw, gasping as she got a good sight of it.
It was a baby gorilla swinging on a tire.
"Wait...was he already in here?" thought Debbie, her mind going a hundred miles a second. She was trying to make sense of her current situation, oblivious to the fact that Coconut had left her vicinity. She looked around, noticing that Evan was nowhere to be found. She managed to force herself to move, wriggling against the ground to get a better view.
However, Debbie soon wished she hadn't. She got sight of what appeared to be his red baseball cap. She also noticed what appeared to be scraps of clothing. She noticed the baby gorilla had stopped swinging as it stared at her.
A realisation struck like lightning as Debbie's mouth widened in shock.
"Evan?" questioned Debbie, confusion in her voice as the dots began to connect. Somehow, her boy...her son...had been transformed into a gorilla.
However, before she could think about this further, she was quickly distracted. Coconut had returned, taking advantage of Debbie's open mouth as it forced a banana into her throat. Debbie's shock was immediate as in her panic, she quickly tried to swallow the banana, attempting to avoid choking on it.
"Wait...what is this...feeling?" thought Debbie. She was beginning to feel strange as she finished swallowing the banana. She could feel sensations across her body as if she had goosebumps as she looked down at her hands.
"Wait...my hands?" mumbled Debbie. She watched them change texture, becoming black and leathery. She held them up as her fingers began to shorten before her eyes. She instinctively flexed them as she noticed them become considerably less dexterous.
"I...I have ape hands!" shouted Debbie, baulking as she eyed them. Her hands looked exactly what she would expect to see on a...gorilla. A realisation and horror came over her as she noticed thin black hair beginning to grow from her newfound hands.
However, Coconut was smiling, satisfied with what he was seeing. His queen and mate would be here soon. However, those garments she was wearing were unfit for her as a new thought caused Coconut to act. He walked towards Debbie, she noticed him move as she quickly moved back in a panic.
"Leave me alone!" shouted Debbie, scared for what was happening to her. What had already happened to her son. However, she was powerless to fight back against the strength of a gorilla as Coconut came forward, his look clearly showing intent.
"Hey, get off me!" shouted Debbie as Coconut grabbed at her. He then tugged, managing to pull off her shirt with his strong hands. Debbie shrieked as she realised her bra was on full display. In her state of distress, Coconut quickly forced that off as well, revealing her chest to him. He then stood back, admiring his soon to be queen.
"Wait...is he?" thought Debbie, beginning to feel uncomfortably warm. She looked down, seeing black fur beginning to spread from her navel. Her discomfort continued to increase as it wormed its way under her shorts, causing her legs to feel itchy. The discomfort became too much as she began to reluctantly strip her shorts.
As Debbie began to pull her shorts down her legs, she noticed that the black fur was worming around her crotch. Her attention was diverted as she noticed her shoes were being pulled at. Before she could react, she saw one shoe go flying off as if it was thrown. She noticed her sock had also been removed, likely being thrown away with the shoe.
"Wait...what are you..."started Debbie, eyeing Coconut once more. However, unlike last time where she felt fear...she only felt happiness. New instincts within her mind were developing, causing the heat in her loins to return. She smiled seductively as Coconut removed her other shoe and sock, once again throwing it away.
"He's perfect," thought Debbie, her developing instincts and arousal making her feel warm. She could feel the sensations continuing to spread across her body as her new instincts continued to develop. She was beginning to see Coconut in a different light, one that would make the perfect husband for her...and the perfect father for Evan.
Her fur continued to spread across her lower body, covering her ass. It began to thicken and broaden as it quickly spread across her entire body. Debbie began to feel unbearably warm which wasn't helped by her continued arousal. The more she stared at Coconut, the more she felt like...she needed him.
"I need him...need my mate," thought Debbie, gritting her teeth as she felt her body begin to bulk up. She panted as she felt her muscles growing, becoming more appropriate for the gorilla she was becoming. She could feel her teeth shifting as she continued to pant, becoming more suitable for her soon to be diet.
Coconut eyed his developing mate with interest. He 'smiled' as he knew he would love the company. He felt a slight change occurring in his mind as he noticed the baby gorilla within his enclosure. Coconut sensed that this baby was his and he was looking forward to giving him a new sibling.
Meanwhile, Debbie's body was continuing to change. Her legs began to shorten, becoming the proper proportions for a gorilla. She could feel a tingling in her feet as they began to change to match her hands.
The toes began to shrink and change, forcing themselves away from her big toes, they then took a form resembling her new fingers. Debbie flexed her toes experimentally, intrigue entering her mind. She once again looked at Coconut...her mate.
"Ook, need...ook...mate," thought Debbie, the heat in her loins increasing as she felt her brain go on autopilot. Her instincts caused her to present herself to Coconut. She could feel her spine adjusting, meaning she would never be capable of true bipedal movement again.
As Coconut watched his mate present herself to him, he wasted no time and mounted her immediately.
"Wait...I don't...Ook...want...ook ook" thought Debbie, feeling her thoughts simplifying as her animal instincts took control. Her eyes began to darken, reinforcing the animal and rejecting the capacity for human thought.
As the couple mated, Debbie could feel her face changing. However, her instincts caused her to be lost in blissful pleasure, oblivious to her simplifying mind. Her head began to change shape, forming a crescent as her jaw muscles bulked up. She could feel her nose compressing into her face as it developed a rubbery texture. Her eyes fully darkened as the texture spread to the rest of her face, sealing her change as her human mind was locked behind her animal instincts.
As Coconut dismounted, Debbie had completed her change. She looked around, now a female gorilla as she eyed her mate. She smiled, content as Coconut's new queen.
She saw the young gorilla coming towards her. He seemed reluctant, withdrawn but also...excited. Debbie felt a maternal instinct flash in her mind as she recognised the baby as her offspring. He seemed rather tired as she scooped him into her arms. She rocked him slightly, causing Evan to become sleepy before falling asleep. Debbie barked softly, placing Evan on her back as she let him rest. She planned to feed him later, figuring her offspring was probably hungry.
"Amazing" mouthed Rebecca, now watching the new gorilla troop within the enclosure. She smiled as she felt satisfied with a job well done. "I hope you enjoy your mate Coconut," said Rebecca, continuing to observe. Fortunately, it looked like no infanticide was going to occur.
"Nice to see the magic working as intended," thought Rebecca, aware that Coconut should now see Debbie as his mate and Evan as his offspring. She was still glad at how well the group was getting along with each other. She prepared her camera once more, managing to get a good photo of the troop.
"Now this is a good family photo," said Rebecca, pleased with the results. She began to walk away from her position, looking forward to the next addition to the Zoo.
"Yes...some people are truly better off as animals," thought Rebecca as she began to approach the Office. She had some paperwork to fill out and expected a call from her Landlord soon which she'd rather have in private.
Later that Night:
"I still wonder if this is a good idea?" wondered Lauren, eying John at his desk.
"Neither do I" replied John, his expression neutral as he looked back at Lauren. "But...it'd be wrong to hide this information, especially if they come for us next" continued John.
"Do you think anyone will believe it?" asked Lauren, her expression concerned with a hint of annoyance.
"No...I don't" replied John, catching Lauren off guard. "But if it gets people asking questions...then it'll be worth it" continued John.
"But why put yourself at risk?...you don't owe this to anyone!" argued Lauren, her concern shining through for her companion.
"I owe this to them," said John simply, eying up towards the centre of his desk. Lauren did the same, noticing the picture of the Orca and Elephant...and the former humans alongside them. She then nodded in understanding.
"Are you sure you're ok with this?" asked John. "I can leave if you don't want to get involved," offered John.
"I'll always be here to support you, after all...they need to pay for what happened to Andy and Mindy," said Lauren, her expression firm.
John nodded as he hovered his mouse over the 'Submit' button. After a final moment of consideration, he clicked it, taking the first step into his plan to stop the Zoo.
Epilogue:
It was a quiet evening within the bedroom of one particular teenage girl. Her light blue hair hung down as a towel adorned her waist. She was humming softly to herself as she noticed her phone buzzing on the nearby desk.
"Interesting...at this time of night?" thought the girl, drying herself off as she threw the towel to one side. She'd put it back tomorrow as she walked over to her phone.
She noticed the notification on her phone. An article had been published for the local paper that her mother had subscribed to. Her mother had allowed her to turtleback on her subscription as she eyed the article. She gave it a small skim read, resisting the urge to giggle.
"Now...this is ridiculous" mumbled the girl. She chuckled as she eyed the author, noticing the name 'John.' She put her phone to one side, putting her turquoise nighty on as she planned to get to bed.
After all, she had an appointment at the New Zoo later this week alongside her friends. She was looking forward to working at the Zoo alongside her friends, all of them surprised that they had been called back following their application.
"Yawn...my friends will definitely...get...a...laugh out of...this" mumbled Amanda, her fatigue coming over her as her head hit the pillow. She snored softly, unaware of how much her life was soon to change in a few days.
That would be the day that would change her life forever!
