It was a rather overcast morning as Rebecca walked under the stone archways of the New Zoo. She gave a slight yawn as she thought for a moment about what her night shifts were doing to her sleep schedule.
Speaking of which, Rebecca had been coming over in the evenings, continuing her investigation regarding the deleted footage and the missing 'Diana' tape from within the Security Room. When she had arrived last night, she had expected to see Charlotte still at the Zoo, probably in the office organising the recent contract that their Landlord had organised.
Unfortunately, this hadn't proven to be the case as Rebecca felt a sense of concern come over her. Her mood shifted, becoming like the overcast morning as she couldn't hold her concern inside anymore as her expression changed. She recalled the previous evening as she tried to think what could have happened.
The Previous Evening:
Rebecca was in uniform as she crossed her arms in a huff. She had expected Charlotte to be home by now. Her current situation was proving to be rather frustrating as Charlotte had taken the car in the morning which had left Rebecca stranded.
"It's annoying we only have one car between us" grumbled Rebecca as she turned to Elizabeth who was currently cleaning off the kitchen top, having prepared a meal for herself and Rebecca. Elizabeth was overly focused on her work, muting out Rebecca's ranting as she continued to think within.
"Where is she?" thought Elizabeth, concerned as she wiped a particularly stubborn spot from the grill. She smiled as she recalled how she had made personalised omelettes for herself and Rebecca. She had also made one for Charlotte, expecting her to have been back by now. She had placed it to one side for Charlotte to enjoy when she eventually returned.
"I hope she's ok. The Spirit had better not hurt her" thought Elizabeth as she began to press harder against the stubborn spot, channelling her fury as the spot eventually gave way, coming off the wipe as Elizabeth looked up, admiring the now shiny grill in triumph for a moment. She then felt her thoughts return to Charlotte, Elizabeth felt rather conflicted as she wondered what could have caused such a swing in opinion in her.
"I don't know why I'm feeling this way. I and Charlotte have been best friends for such a long time now. After everything she did, is that why am I so quick to forgive her?, Am I that desperate to want my best friend back?" thought Elizabeth as she got lost in her thoughts as she felt a tap on her shoulder.
Elizabeth jumped slightly as she turned around. Despite her footstool, she had to look up to see Rebecca as she felt herself snap back to reality.
"Have you been listening to anything I've just said Elizabeth?" enquired Rebecca who had a slight glare in her eye.
"Not really, just been focusing on cleaning up the side after making omelettes for everyone," said Elizabeth emphasising the 'everyone' as she stared at Rebecca as if daring her.
This caused Rebecca to pause momentarily as she calmed her frustration. To be fair, it had been a rather tasty omelette that had satisfied her appetite.
"Besides, I know we work with animals but we shouldn't live like them" continued Elizabeth, erupting a small laugh at her joke as Rebecca decided to just start from the beginning.
"I hope Charlotte is back soon, I could use the car" stated Rebecca as she crossed her arms once more, staring into an empty corner of the kitchen.
"You could always use the bus...or walk?" suggested Elizabeth as she got down from her footstool, planning to have some time to relax...or think about Charlotte. She kept her concern well hidden so as not to give away anything to Rebecca.
"Public transport is less than desirable, the closest bus stop is near the high school where we recruited our interns" replied Rebecca, causing her to think of Caitlyn. This made her smile as she made a mental note to catch up with the pair when she was next in.
"The weather's rather nice tonight. Could be a nice walk" stated Elizabeth, moving into the living room as she put her feet up on the shared sofa. She looked out of the nearby window, noticing the clear night sky filled with stars.
Rebecca stood still as she considered her options. She could walk to the Zoo or use public transportation which she didn't fancy doing. She sighed as she resigned herself to the fact she would have to walk. She took a lookout to the sky, it truly was beautiful tonight.
"Ok, you've convinced me. I'm walking. I imagine you'll be in bed by the time I get back" wondered Rebecca as she got her coat on. Despite the beauty of the night, there were a lot of signs that indicated it was rather chilly.
"I'll watch the fort and wait for Charlotte" replied Elizabeth as she turned on the television, changing the channel over to what appeared to be cartoons as Rebecca walked towards the front door.
Rebecca took one last glance as she left the house, leaving Elizabeth to her own devices. As she locked the front door, she heard uproarious laughter from within, clearly indicating that Elizabeth must have found the joke hilarious.
Elizabeth checked out of the window, noticing Rebecca walking up the street. She turned back to her cartoons. She hoped they would prove to be a decent distraction from her worries for Charlotte.
"C'mon Charlotte, give us a sign you're ok," thought Elizabeth as she stared at her phone worriedly, her hope that the Spirit had been lenient with Charlotte shrinking as time passed.
At The New Zoo:
Rebecca arrived at the New Zoo, looking under the stone archways as she noticed the front gates were still unlocked. She let out a breath of relief as she thought that Charlotte had just lost track of time.
She quickly ran down to The Office as she opened the door, expecting to see Charlotte at the desk.
To her surprise, she didn't find her. Rebecca examined the desk, noticing a piece of paper on it. She picked it up as she quickly browsed the paper, noticing that it appeared to be a contract. She looked to the bottom line, noticing the contract hadn't been signed. She overlooked a small green shard that wasn't present previously as she focussed intently on the contract.
"Is this the contract that our Landlord wanted Charlotte to organise?" thought Rebecca as she wondered why it was still on the desk. "Did negotiations fall through?" she continued as she wondered what could have happened.
"I guess I'll check the Petting Zoo. She's probably there. After all, the car is still here so she definitely should still be in the Zoo" thought Rebecca as she began to walk towards the Petting Zoo. She took a small detour to check on Caitlyn and Travis. She noticed the pair were asleep so she figured she would sleep inside the Office tonight and catch up tomorrow.
Eventually, she was near the Petting Zoo as she noticed something on the ground. Rebecca could make out the outlines of someone on the ground as she quickened her pace.
She found Charlotte passed out on the floor as she held her tight, shaking her slightly to see if that would awaken her.
"Charlotte, are you ok? Speak to me!" shouted Rebecca, her voice increasing in panic and her shakes increasing in intensity as Charlotte failed to respond.
Rebecca heard murmuring from Charlotte as she watched her move her arms around to grab her glasses which had fallen off nearby. She mumbled incoherently as she began to regain consciousness.
"What happened?" asked Rebecca as she held Charlotte in her arms, letting the girl take her time with regaining consciousness.
Charlotte thought for a moment as she recalled earlier in the day, she felt fear as she could faintly recall what had happened. She looked to Rebecca as she wondered how best to approach the situation.
"I passed out. The contract fell through as something happened" replied Charlotte.
"Are you ok now?" asked Rebecca as Charlotte managed to stand up under her own power for a moment before falling back down.
Rebecca stared at Charlotte with serious concern as she decided that her investigation tonight wasn't worth it. She scooped Charlotte up into her arms as she carried her away. As she did this, she failed to notice the faint clucking emanating from the nearby coop.
"Where are we going?" mumbled Charlotte as she still felt rather out of it.
"I'm taking you home. Elizabeth can look after you tomorrow. I'll be at the Zoo checking up on something" stated Rebecca bluntly, leaving no room for argument.
Rebecca gently put Charlotte in the passenger seat and fastened her in before getting into the driver's seat. She turned the ignition as the pair drove off into the night, still as serene as it was earlier.
Unknown to the pair, there had been an external entity within the Office. A small green shard on the desk began to glow. It became more and more intense as the shared grew and grew, quickly resembling a small orb. Long green strands began to exit from it, attaching to the ceiling and keeping the cocoon in place as it began to glow brighter and brighter.
The animals within the Zoo who weren't already asleep began to feel tiredness cover over them, eventually overwhelming their being before they nodded off into a peaceful slumber, submitting their energy to the incubating Spirit.
Back to the Present:
Rebecca entered the Main Hallway as she walked down the enclosures, eying the animals as she felt a vibration from her phone. She picked it up as she noticed a message from Elizabeth that Charlotte was currently in her room and refusing to come out.
Rebecca felt concerned as she wondered what could have happened to cause Charlotte to react like this. She stopped outside the Gorilla enclosure as she looked within, feeling her nerves calm slightly as she watched Coconut and his troop interacting with each other.
Rebecca felt nostalgic as she watched Coconut turn, looking directly at her as she raised her hand. This caused Coconut to grip the bars of his enclosure, standing on his back legs as he stared at her.
Rebecca turned, looking over the other animals as she eyed the Zebra enclosure opposite. Her hands began to glow as she could feel magic pulsating throughout her. She felt the magic be released from her being as the other animals began to feel drawn to the glow as they came to the edge of their enclosures, eying Rebecca who smiled at her newfound audience.
Eventually, she let the glow fade from her hands as Coconut slid back into a sitting position as Rebecca looked at him, the rest of the animals proceeding to scatter throughout their enclosures as Rebecca focused on Coconut. Rebecca also sat down, feeling slightly drained from having reinforced the Zoo's magic.
"It used to be so much simpler" stated Rebecca to no one in particular. Coconut hooted quietly as if he understood as Rebecca allowed herself a smile. She had always liked Coconut and was happy that she could spend some time with him before getting down to business.
"I'm glad that I have someone like you," said Rebecca, smiling as she turned to Coconut. "Just someone who I can talk to and not feel like I'm burdening them" continued Rebecca as she bent slightly, staring more intently into Coconut's eyes.
"I'm worried about what's going on, it seems as if the Zoo is turning against us. First, the magic seems to be acting out of place and then Charlotte winds up unconscious with no recollection of how it happened.
I feel Elizabeth would be involved somehow. It would explain her personality change but I thought I'd scared her into compliance with the scar. Why would she be acting out?" she rambled, her frustration growing as she felt the situation become overwhelming.
She heard a sudden series of barks and hoots, snapping her out of her rambling as she turned to face Coconut. She turned to face him, feeling herself calm down as she focussed on the gorilla once more.
"Thank you, you always know the right thing to say," said Rebecca, standing up as she took note of the time." Now I have somewhere else to be before the guests arrive. Thank you for listening" continued Rebecca as she began to walk away, leaving Coconut as he heard hoots coming from his mate, gaining his attention as he turned back into his enclosure.
A Few Moments Later:
Rebecca turned into an enclosure, content that she had found her intended destination.
"Caitlyn?, Travis?, where are you darlings?" called Rebecca, joy evident in her voice as she looked intently, noticing the Tigers beginning to emerge from the back of their enclosure. They had clearly been asleep together as Rebecca thought on, eyeing Caitlyn for a short moment before returning her attention to the pair equally.
"It's good to see you again," said Rebecca joyously as Caitlyn and Travis roared in response, Rebecca smiling as she continued to admire the majestic creatures.
Meanwhile, Rebecca's calls into the Tiger enclosure and the subsequent roars had alerted Diana from the opposite enclosure. The cheetah accidentally fell from the branch she was resting on as she turned, landing on her feet as she felt her paws sinking into the squishy mud. She walked forward as she lied down, eyeing Rebecca intently as she was curious about Rebecca's return. She had noticed Rebecca coming back in the nights but she had never come to visit Caitlyn in those moments.
"Of course she's here for Caitlyn...as usual," thought Diana as she felt her expression change to one of 'annoyance' as she hissed, indicating her presence to the others. Caitlyn scowled for a moment before returning her attention to Rebecca. Rebecca didn't even acknowledge Diana as her attention was firmly on the Tigers.
Rebecca stared at the pair as she noticed their expressions. They appeared to be hiding something from her as if they wanted to say something but were unsure if they should.
"What's on your mind?" asked Rebecca, curiosity on her face as Caitlyn and Travis appeared taken off guard by the question. They turned to each other, looking for a moment before they turned back to Rebecca.
"We've been thinking for the last few weeks. While we really do enjoy our new lives as Tigers, we both miss our families. We've both talked about it and we decided we would like to see our families again, maybe bring them back with us" explained Caitlyn, giving a subtle hint with her eyes which Rebecca's expression indicated that she understood. Her eyes widening for a slight moment before she regained her composure.
Before Rebecca had a chance to respond, a loud growl was heard as the group turned to face Diana who appeared to be rather angry at the situation.
"You're kidding me?. This isn't supposed to be a vacation, Caitlyn!. We're prisoners, maybe it's time you finally understood that. Rebecca doesn't care about your family just like she didn't care about mine when she changed me!. What made you think this idea would possibly be accepted?" screamed Diana as 'tears' could be seen in her eyes.
"This isn't your arrangement to be made!. Unlike you, Rebecca actually likes me and Travis. Maybe if you were less of a bitch you'd be treated better." roared Caitlyn as Rebecca turned between the pair, wondering how to de-escalate the situation.
"How dare you, I've been in this scenario for years Catilyn!" exclaimed Diana as she breathed in, trying to regain her breath before continuing "Just because you get favouritism doesn't mean the rest of us do!. I don't know what caused you to think of this place as a resort but the reality is...we are prisoners. Just because some cells are fancier than others does not change the fact that we are trapped. Do you really want to subject your families to that?." Diana stopped to catch her breath as she stared at the pair.
The group stared at Diana, wondering how to respond. Even Rebecca had a concerned expression as she saw the pain Diana was in. She felt an uneasy feeling in her stomach as she felt discomfort.
Before Rebecca could say anything, Caitlyn retorted sarcastically "Are you finished?."
Diana just stared in momentary shock, wondering how to react to the situation. She felt fury begin to grow after being just casually dismissed like that. Just like all the times before.
"Well fuck you then" replied Diana as she walked away, heading deeper into her enclosure, out of sight as Rebecca turned back to Caitlyn.
"That was uncalled for," said Rebecca firmly as Caitlyn stood back, feeling her expression drop.
"What do you mean?" asked Caitlyn accusingly, confused as to why Rebecca was suddenly standing up for Diana.
"After that display, I feel as if Diana's been through enough. I'll think about your request and get back to you as I have an appointment with some new additions. They saw our poster and are interested in sponsoring the Zoo." said Rebecca as she walked away from the pair, feeling disappointed in Caitlyn.
Travis looked at Caitlyn as he also walked away. Caitlyn could sense he needed some space as she thought back to what she said. She quickly shook her head, dismissing the thought before walking over to the waterfall. She felt dirty and could use a cold soak.
Meanwhile:
It was entering the early hours of the afternoon as Florian walked under the stone archways, entering the New Zoo. He turned back to his girlfriend Lara who was following closely behind him.
The pair had recently seen a poster, advertising the New Zoo opening in their town. The pair were animal enthusiasts, particularly in birds and had wasted no time or expense in sponsoring the Zoo in their name. They had been invited to come down and have a look in person at the new enclosures that had been filled.
This had excited the pair to no end as they had each booked a day off from work, eagerly awaiting for the day.
The day had finally arrived as Lara caught up to her boyfriend, gripping him from behind in a hug as she smiled. Her long flowing brown hair shifted slightly in the small breeze as she moved back.
Florian turned to face his girlfriend and smiled back at her, noticing her white shirt and short blue dress. Lara stared back at Florian, noticing his blue jacket and jeans and the black shirt underneath. The pair starred, blissfully in love as they walked down the Main Hallway. They eventually settled around the Zebra Enclosure as Lara pulled Florian towards it.
"Fascinating creatures, aren't they?" commented Lara as she saw the herd within the enclosure. She watched as the zebra foal, formerly known as Beth, turned her head, facing Lara as it began to move forward curiously.
"Definitely" replied Florian as his attention was likewise diverted towards the foal which looked at them curiously. They smiled at each other as the foal eyed the couple. After a moment, it bent its head down, continuing to graze from the grass beneath its hooves.
Beth suddenly heard a bray as she heard her mother calling out to her. She moved further into the enclosure as she quickly found her mother. It was time to nurse again as Beth latched onto her mother's teat, drinking the sweet milk within as Florian and Lara watched with intrigue and excitement, trying to keep quiet so as not to startle the foal.
Rebecca noticed the pair in the distance as they appeared distracted with the Zebra Enclosure. She continued to walk towards them as she got a quick sight of what they were watching. She smiled for a moment, enjoying the tenderness of the moment as she casually walked next to the couple.
The group watched the moment with great interest, not wanting to disturb the tranquillity of the moment.
"Awwww it's absolutely adorable," thought Lara as her smile widened, the Zoo seemed to be a lovely place for the animals.
"It's good they have all this space to explore. They'll need it soon" thought Florian as he noticed the slight roundness of the female Zebra, indicating that she was pregnant.
"Seems as if they have no recollection whatsoever, at least I know they won't cause problems," thought Rebecca, observing the herd and seeing the blankness in their eyes, implying there was no human intelligence behind those eyes.
It was at this point where Rebecca decided to introduce herself. "Hello, you must be Florian and Lara?" asked Rebecca as the pair nodded, confirming this to be the case.
Rebecca offered a handshake which Florian accepted graciously as she continued "Is there any enclosure, in particular, you are interested in seeing today?"
The pair looked at each other and thought for a moment. The pair smiled as Lara turned to face Rebecca before asking "Do you have any birds? they're our favourites" her tone was hopeful as the pair awaited Rebecca's response.
"Yes, yes we do. We recently got a brand new Aviary due to a rather generous donation. I can take you there and you can have a look if you're interested" replied Rebecca as she saw the pair eagerly nodding to her. She turned away, walking further down the Main Hallway, noticing the pair following her as they continued to walk.
Florian and Lara looked around as they walked, noticing the other animals who were staring intently, taking interest in the new arrivals for a short moment before turning their attention elsewhere.
Eventually, the group arrived at the Aviary as Rebecca informed "We're still filling our collection but we have a few of our birds already settled in." She stole a glance at Chris as she located the peafowl. She could feel herself becoming warm as she could feel a pressing in her rear. The heat within her only intensified as she noticed Chris unfurling his feathers and she had to turn away quickly, feeling her magic washing over her as she calmed. She could feel her forming nub shrink as it faded away.
"I've got to do something about that," thought Rebecca, more annoyed at her present predicament than scared anymore as she quickly looked around for her guests.
She noticed that Florian and Lara had moved to the glass, trying to get a better look at the peafowl within. They noticed what they guessed to be the female, turned to stare at them, her grey feathers unfurling slightly as she took an interest in the new arrivals.
Megan stared at the pair as she rolled her eyes, annoyed once again by her predicament. She continued to sit on her eggs, keeping them warm as she grumbled to herself, the grumbles coming out as low squarks.
Fortunately, Chris had been keeping the people entertained as he unfurled his feathers. Megan stared back as she noticed that Rebecca had turned away for the moment.
"Why had she turned away? she seems uncomfortable...good" thought Megan as she noticed that Chris had returned to the nest.
"Looks like we're getting some new additions," said Chris as he stared at Megan who continued to incubate her eggs.
"Looks that way" replied Megan as she looked down for a moment "Guess we need to be ready to guard the eggs if needed."
"Of course" finished Chris, letting out a small 'sigh' as he turned away, continuing to guard the nest as he eyed the couple observing them.
"She's never going to forgive me for this...is she?" thought Chris as he felt guilt enter him momentarily.
Rebecca had calmed herself down as she turned back to face the pair. "I hope you're enjoying the Aviary. We're hoping to expand our collection soon. Might even begin doing some bird shows" said Rebecca as her tone felt optimistic which rubbed off on Florian and Lara.
"But for now...how about I let you go and have a closer look within the Aviary?" finished Rebecca as she headed towards the door, opening it as she saw the eager expressions of the pair.
Lara immediately walked inside the Aviary as Florian followed, the pair both feeling overjoyed as they took advantage of this rare opportunity. They were so excited that they didn't realise that Rebecca locked the door behind them, trapping them inside and leaving them to their fate.
The pair looked around, intrigued by the design work as they looked around. It had a vast array of plants and shrubbery as it was covered in large green grass. There were large trees hanging overhead and smaller trees with vines attached, simulating a jungle environment for more exotic birds. There were large bodies of water where the birds could wash or swim which glistened in the overhead sun. They looked overhead, noticing the glass roof which would keep the birds in and provide sunlight to them as well.
"This truly looks beautiful doesn't it?" asked Lara, feeling warm and fuzzy inside. Little did she realise that the Zoo's magic had claimed her as she eyed a nearby group of birds around one of the water pools. She beamed as she admired how despite being very different birds, they all seemed in harmony with each other.
Florian was also staring at the group of birds, noticing the toucan overhead which seemed to be staring at them intently. He redirected his attention to the others, particularly the black heron as he could feel a sense of unease come over him. The same magic that was affecting Lara was beginning to affect him as well.
Elsewhere, Rebecca had currently got into position, occupying one of the lookout towers around the Aviary as she placed her camcorder. She checked the visual feed before hitting record, content that it would capture the footage of the pair.
"This is making me feel nostalgic," thought Rebecca as she smiled, waiting for the moment when the changes would begin. "Although to be fair, the Security Room did make this easier due to the many security cameras that we set up. We need to organise the remodelling promptly so we can get those back up" continued Rebecca as she dismissed the thought for the meantime, desiring to focus on the present.
Meanwhile, Florian and Lara had come together in the Aviary, enjoying a romantic moment together as they kissed. They could feel a tingling in their lips as they looked at each other. Their jovial expressions quickly shifted into ones of confusion which shifted into immediate horror as they noticed their lips had begun to discolour, changing slightly yellow as they hardened.
"Florian, what's with your lips?" asked Lara as she could feel something occurring with her lips. She could feel them beginning to push out slightly which looking at Florian showed he had noticed. It also felt as if her nose was shrinking as it shifted up her face, slowly as her lips continued to push out.
"The same that's happening with yours" replied Florian as the pair each felt the other's mouth as they saw the hardening lips begin to push out further as if encouraged by their touch until the pair each had a set of beaks and their noses had shrunk up their face.
The pair screamed as they moved away from each other, their screams fading out to a high pitch whistle as they noticed that they each had beaks on their faces.
"What's going on?" said Lara worryingly as she could feel another change coming over her, focusing on her rear whereas Florian felt cramping in his feet.
"I don't know, people don't just grow beaks," replied Florian as he diverted his attention to his shoes. He attempted to remove them but it was too late as he could only watch as his shoes and socks were torn to shreds. He looked down to his feet, noticing the new talons he had. He attempted to scream but his new beak caused it to fade into a piping noise as his feet hardened, discolouring as they became yellow like his beak.
Lara was eying her boyfriend, still in shock of what was happening to them as she felt a buildup in her rear which pushed under her skirt. She turned over her shoulder, eying the nub which had developing white tail feathers bunched together, spreading rapidly as her tail formed. It moved experimentally, scaring her as she felt a warmth in her rear. She felt a sense of arousal begin to seep into her mind as her cloaca formed. This calmed her somewhat, giving her something else to focus on.
In her arousal induced state, Lara could feel herself becoming warm as feathers began to emerge from her body, increasing with a greater magnitude as Lara began to feel itchy. She scratched the itch with gusto as it only seemed to intensify rather than give her any relief. Her clothes stretched further and further as she felt more feathers growing under her shirt. The growing brown feather easily stood out from the white shirt as the material appeared to be on the brink of snapping.
As Florian eyed his changing girlfriend, he smelled a scent in the air. The smell caused him to feel a sense of arousal as his mind became distracted by the thought of mating. Unknowing to him, he was beginning to feel his eagle instincts emerging. His genitals began to shrink, growing smaller and smaller before fading entirely as he felt a warmth in his ass. He could feel his cloaca forming as Lara suddenly ceased her itching, staring at her boyfriend as her instincts to mate began to take hold.
Lara quickly moved forward, bending down before Florian could react as she pulled down his shorts, quickly moving to his rear to take in his scent. Tears were flowing from her eyes as she couldn't help herself.
Florian could only watch with confusion as he felt his fingers feel stiff as they shrunk into his hands. He watched as his arms spread out as they became covered with brown feathers. The feathers continued to spread to his body, pressing against his shirt as he felt his new wings form. He flapped them in frustration, forcing Lara away from him.
Lara eyed her boyfriend intently as he seemed smaller than he was a few moments ago. It soon became apparent that he was shrinking to the size of an eagle. His shirt became larger and larger, eventually falling to the floor as Florian noticed what was happening. He stepped outside the shirt, noticing he was nude as he quickly tried to cover himself up with his new wings.
"Was Lara always that tall?" thought Florian as he looked around, noticing everything seemed bigger than it once was. It was then he looked down and noticed he had shrunk to the size of an eagle as he looked up to Lara, a look of distress on his face.
Lara could only watch as she felt stiffness in her feet. The toes shifted and changed, becoming yellow as some merged, forming her new talons which burst out of the heels she had been wearing earlier. She looked around, noticing that everything seemed to be getting larger as she soon looking at Florian.
The feathers had continued across her body as Lara continued to itch. However, this was becoming increasingly inefficient as she felt her emotions lessen. She looked to her hands, soon noticing the fingers had been shrinking into her hands. She watched as feathers stretched across her hands as they shifted, transforming into a set of wings. From the neck down, Lara was now a bald eagle as she could feel her cloaca drip with anticipation. She bent down, presenting herself to Florian who could only watch with confusion. She gave a single, soft, high-pitched note, unknowingly signalling her readiness for her boyfriend.
Florian eyed his girlfriend, trying to resist his emerging instincts as he could feel his rear poking out, forming into a tail that quickly grew out white feathers across its surface. Florian looked down as he noticed that he was a bald eagle from the neck down as he felt his resistance waning as he moved towards his girlfriend.
It took a few attempts for Florian to get into position as they attempted to mate. Eventually, however, Florian found the sweet spot as the pair rubbed their cloacas together and called out, their calls being high pitch whistles that could be heard across the Aviary.
As they mated, they could feel their faces begin to finish their change as white feathers began to form on their face. They began at the neck, prickling there before spreading upwards as the pair could feel their mental changes coming over themselves.
"No!, I don't want this. I'm not an eagle, I'm human!. I had so many things I wanted to do with my life such as...bird shows" thought Lara as she felt her mind become increasingly distracted. She felt her human intellect fade away, surprisingly being replaced by training regiments and routines. Sklara could feel her mind becoming more correct as she looked around, this was her home. Skylara looked back, noticing her mate and 'smiling', looking forward to laying his eggs as she felt herself become increasingly eager to get out and impress the people who loved her. Skylar let out a whistle as she climaxed, feeling her human memories fade away as her transformation completed itself.
Meanwhile, Florian could feel the same changes come over him as the feathers spread up his face. Florend could feel his feather puffing up as he continued to mate, feeling satisfaction come over him. "Yes, this feels right. Skylar is my mate, my partner. I can't wait to get back out there and perform for the crowd" he thought as he could feel his new identity take formation. Any form of resistance crumbled away as the feathers finished spreading over Arend's head and his eyes darkened, sealing his change. He called out as he climaxed into Skylar, looking forward to when his young was born.
The new eagles looked on the ground for a moment, noticing the nearby peafowl in the nest as Skylar flew into a nearby tree, settling in a nearby nest. She could feel a pressing in her loins as she pushed out, laying her first eggs as Arend joined her, pushing his chest out and ruffling his feathers with confidence as the pair began to settle into their new home.
Megan had been observing the pair as she looked at them, noticing Lara was now incubating her eggs as she turned to Chris, motioning him over before saying "We might need to keep an eye on them, need to make sure they don't attack our eggs."
Chris nodded as he returned to guard duty, Megan continuing to keep her eggs comfortable as she eyed the new eagles with suspicion, watching them settle in.
Outside the Aviary:
Rebecca smiled as she reviewed the footage.
"This is great!. Not only did the transformation work as intended but I can sense that their new identities have finished forming. That'll save considerably on training them if we plan on doing bird shows in the future" she thought as she smiled, continuing to watch the footage.
She was overjoyed at the quality of the transformation of the pair as she finished watching the recording. She put it away, getting out her camera, carefully angling it as she took a picture of the pair. She left the pair to settle as she thought back to Caitlyn and Travis's request.
"I want to help but the best way I can think of would require...doing something incredibly risky. Is it worth it?" thought Rebecca as she considered the situation. "Of course it is but I need something from Caitlyn this time if I'm going to do this" finished Rebecca as she headed away from the Aviary.
Moments later, Rebecca was back in the Main Hallway as she arrived at the Tiger enclosure. Despite what had happened earlier, Diana had taken an interest as she watched intently while Caitlyn and Travis had noticed Rebecca's return and came to the front of their enclosure.
"I've thought about your request earlier and I've decided to agree to it" started Rebecca as Caitlyn had a 'smug' grin on her face as Diana listened in, curious as to where this was going.
"Thank you, Becky, I knew you'd do it" exclaimed Caitlyn as she couldn't help but bound around a bit.
"On one condition" continued Rebecca as she turned to Caitlyn, becoming serious for a moment as Caitlyn was taken off guard. She then turned to Diana with the same expression who was barely phased by the reaction but listened in nonetheless.
"What's your condition?" asked Caitlyn curiously as she sat down on her rear, tilting her head in confusion.
"You two..." started Rebecca, pointing to Caitlyn then Diana "...need to come to some sort of accord. I don't expect you to be best friends or even like each other but for the future of the Zoo, you need to be able to at least tolerate each other. I don't want to come in and find one of you has killed the other."
"How would that happen?" asked Caitlyn, confused as to what Rebecca meant. The pair were separated by an enclosure, how could they possibly get to each other?.
"All will be revealed soon" finished Rebecca mysteriously as she walked away, turning back for a moment as she said "We can go see your parents tomorrow" before heading towards the entrance of the Zoo. She smiled as she felt accomplished from the day as she opted to go check up on the others.
Later that Night:
It had been several hours as John had continued to investigate into the Zoo once more. He had managed to get some information from an unknown source on the financial aspects of the Zoo. He noticed that the majority of the money had come from donations from people who inevitably had joined in a more permanent capacity as most had disappeared.
"There should be more than this" thought John as he continued to trace back the finances of the New Zoo. He felt concerned about Amanda as he stopped for a moment to collect his thoughts.
Lauren was currently outside as she prepared yet again...another cup of tea. Her brow furrowed as she felt annoyance enter her being.
"I know John's doing this for the sake of the others but I wish he'd spend more attention on me. It seems as if Amanda going maverick had only caused him to further commit to it and alienate me. I just wish this whole investigation could be over with" thought Lauren as she looked down on the coffee table, eying the 'Diana' tape once more.
