It was nearing closing time at the New Zoo.
The light of the sky was beginning to be swallowed away by darkness as day transitioned into night. The animals seemed to be settling down for the evening as the day continued to fade away.
Soon enough, the brightness of the day succumbed to the darkness of the night as the only source of light was being emitted from the lamp posts which were scattered across the Outside Section of the Zoo began to illuminate.
"I...I still can't believe she did this" thought Alyssa, grumpily placing some bamboo in her food dish. Alyssa stared at her 'dinner' in frustration as she almost whacked her dish over in frustration.
Alyssa eventually settled for a 'huff'. She then used her large paw to scoop up a chunk of bamboo before stuffing it into her mouth. Her new teeth crunched the plant with vigour, her new body enjoying the taste even if her old mind thought otherwise.
"Still...why did my memories come back?" wondered Alyssa, still trying to make sense of what exactly happened. "Guess father was right...I should've paid more attention to his magic lessons' ' continued Alyssa, scooping another piece of bamboo into her jaws as her teeth crunched down, a little more irritated this time.
As Alyssa noticed her now-empty food dish, she looked around her enclosure. She eyed the bamboo adorning the walls as the section she had ripped off was already beginning to regrow.
"At least I'll never run out of food," thought Alyssa bitterly. Memories of her ripping it off the walls crossed her mind as she shook her head. She was feeling more irritated, angrier as the humiliating memories continued to play in her mind.
"Still...the least I can do is be civilised now" growled Alyssa, her thoughts still clouded by her anger and frustration.
Trying to take her mind off her troubles, Alyssa walked over to a section of the bamboo wall within her enclosure. She used her paws to pull the bamboo from the wall until it eventually snapped loose. Alyssa placed the bamboo stick to one side before focusing on another section.
After a few moments, Alyssa had accumulated a small pile as she sat down.
"This should be enough for dinner," thought Alyssa, staring at the small pile. Her panda instincts caused the pile to look irresistible. She fought back the urge to just mindlessly munch through the pile. Eventually, she settled for taking a shoot at a time as she ate slowly, opting to savour the taste once more.
"Will I ever get used to this?" thought Alyssa, continuing to eat. As she did so, her mind began to wander. Memories of her family, Rebecca...and her daughter began to float through her mind as Alyssa ate.
"Why have you abandoned me, father? I know I wasn't the best but...how could you pick your apprentice over your own daughter?" thought Alyssa angrily. Unknown to Alyssa, her chews were beginning to become more animalistic, her frustrations breaking her concentration on staying civilised.
Alyssa took a break from her meal as she looked upwards. She noticed the bamboo dome that covered a large part of her enclosure. People would still be able to see her if they came onto the viewing platform but not much further.
"I guess Rebecca's trying to keep me trapped...I seriously don't know what she expects me to do...feels like overkill" growled Alyssa, unable to resist a bitter 'chuckle.' Rebecca seemed to be overreacting to Alyssa, especially as the pair once knew each other.
This was why it made the final person of Alyssa's thoughts all the more enraging.
"I still can't believe she targeted Helen!" growled Alyssa, swiping her claws at the air. "How did she feel...when you transformed her?!" continued Alyssa, eyeing the bamboo on the enclosure wall.
"Damn it, damn it, DAMN IT!" growled Alyssa, tearing the bamboo violently from the wall. She noticed it already beginning to regrow as she tore away once again. Alyssa continued to tear it down several times as the futility of her entrapment was beginning to dawn on her.
Despite Alyssa's best efforts, the bamboo was growing faster than she could tear it down.
Eventually, Alyssa ceased as she felt her anger leaving her.
"I...I just can't believe Rebecca targeted children with this...this trap" squeaked Alyssa, her anger giving way to apathy as she stared down at the large pile of bamboo she had pulled off the wall. She huffed, sitting down as she heard her stomach was still rumbling.
"Might as well eat...no point sleeping on an empty stomach" huffed Alyssa as she began to munch at the bamboo. With her anger now gone, Alyssa settled for small thorough chews through the bamboo shoots.
"Well...I hope no one saw me embarrassing myself" thought Alyssa, glad to know that nighttime had arrived for the New Zoo. She finished feeding on the bamboo, thankful her new stomach was full.
"Might as well get some sleep...it's not like there's anything else to do" squeaked Alyssa. She began to walk towards what had now become her resting tree. After a few moments, she had leaned back against it, finding a comfortable position as she looked up.
"I bet the stars would have looked good tonight...if I could see them" thought Alyssa bitterly. However, her feelings were soon giving way to tiredness as her eyes began to drift.
"I hope Helen is ok...wherever she is" was Alyssa's final thought as she fell fast asleep.
After all...there was little else for her to do.
The Next Morning:
Rebecca looked upwards, eyeing the stone archways with a wide grin. Although her feelings were rather uncertain, she still couldn't help but feel somewhat joyous to be here today.
"It...it's great to be back," thought Rebecca, walking into the Main Hallway. She looked around, her smile beginning to fade as reality began to sink in on her.
She continued to walk through the Main Hallway, paying no mind to the enclosures as she urgently needed to get to the Office.
"I need to be alone today...especially after Mr Darko's surprise appearance," said Rebecca, recalling how she had given Carol a few days leave to recover from the encounter. "I hope she's ok...she seems like the best person from the staff to carry on my work...share my dream," thought Rebecca, her expression slightly worried.
"I wonder what other tricks he...the Society could be hiding up their sleeves" wondered Rebecca, hoping that the deal she had felt forced to accept would work to her advantage.
She didn't want to put the New Zoo...her Zoo at risk once again.
"At least Mr Darko allowed me to consult with the others before accepting...still don't know why he allowed that" thought Rebecca, confusion on her face. It wasn't in character for the Society to be that reasonable...
...clearly, something deeper was at play.
"Perhaps there's more than meets the eye?" wondered Rebecca. She was trying to make sense of the situation. It was beginning to sound even more absurd by the moment.
But then again...what part of Rebecca's life currently wasn't absurd?
"At least the others seem to be supporting me" mumbled Rebecca, a small smile on her face. It was nice to have Elizabeth and Charlotte be more supportive.
Perhaps good communication was all that was lacking from the group over the early months.
"Still...that's now behind us," said Rebecca out loud, forcing the negative doubtful thoughts away. She looked up, noticing she had approached the doors to the Office.
"Now...time to clear my head before our new guests arrive later today," said Rebecca. She swung the doors open, walking through as she approached the desk. She had paperwork to be getting on with...even if she'd rather give it to Charlotte.
"Just need to fill out a few forms to send back to Victoria," said Rebecca, noticing the papers neatly stacked in a pile. She noticed a sticky note on the top as she plucked it, reading it curiously.
'From Charlotte with Love' read the note. Rebecca couldn't help but chuckle, finding it slightly amusing as she eyed the first set of paperwork. She got out her pen, beginning to fill it out as she tried to clear her mind.
Nevertheless, despite her best efforts, part of Rebecca's mind remained distracted as it focused on the events of the night before.
The Night Before:
The rain was quietly pattering away outside as Elizabeth and Charlotte sat blissfully in the living room. The television was on another episode of 'Great Expectations' playing as Charlotte watched it hypnotically.
Elizabeth smiled for a moment, happy for her friend. While Elizabeth was honestly indifferent to the show, the small bundle of fluff on her lap was another story.
"Holly's so adorable," thought Elizabeth, quietly cooing at the cat. She continued to snuggle Holly like a child cradling their favourite toy. Still, as she glanced at the television, she couldn't help but feel somewhat intrigued.
"What's going on?" asked Elizabeth, noticing Charlotte snapping out of her trance.
"Care to elaborate?" replied Charlotte, pausing the videotape that he had been watching. A small line of static appeared as she did so, quickly fading as she turned to face Elizabeth. Coincidentally, the moment it had paused displayed a family picture.
"Sorry, I mean...who are these people in the show?" asked Elizabeth curiously. She noticed Charlotte's smile, knowing that Charlotte was satisfied with her elaboration.
"Ok...this might be difficult since it's part of a continuous storyline" started Charlotte, looking back towards the television. "But...that man, the old one with white hair" began Charlotte, pointing towards the character for emphasis. "That's Lord Gregory of Kendor Manor" explained Charlotte, her voice enthusiastic for being able to share this with someone for once. "He's courting the Lady of Swandeer Lake, trying to swindle her out of her fortune for his own gain" continued Charlotte.
Elizabeth looked over to the lady that Charlotte was pointing out. She felt rather spooked as the lady looked very...similar.
"Why is Lord Gregory doing this?" asked Elizabeth, her expression uneasy.
"Lord Gregory's ambition causes him to believe that it's his birthright to own" replied Charlotte.
Elizabeth shook her head, not desiring further elaboration. "Ok...who's that?" asked Elizabeth.
"Ah, that person is Lady Jennifer. Her decision to date outside the family begins the main conflict of the series" replied Charlotte. Charlotte stopped for a moment, Elizabeth giving her time to think things through.
"This is due to the hidden secrets of the manor. Eventually, Jennifer manages to escape, being the 'winner' so to speak...even if it costs her everything except her best friend" finished Charlotte. Elizabeth stared at her friend for a moment, wondering whether to keep going.
In the end, wanting to show interest in something Charlotte liked won out.
"And that person?" asked Elizabeth curiously.
"Oh...that's Despia. She's the...maid" said Charlotte simply.
Elizabeth noted Despia's short stature, feeling an odd sense of deja vu.
"Eventually, she becomes increasingly irrational which eventually devolves into insanity. Eventually, she feels no longer in control of her life as she loses the will to go on. This eventually drives her to suicide via throwing herself off a cliff at the Manor" explained Charlotte.
"Sounds tragic," said Elizabeth simply. She could feel a thought coming over her. However, whatever it was was just barely beyond her grasp. She felt uneasy as she refocused her attention back to Charlotte.
"Certainly" replied Charlotte, letting the words hang in the air for a moment. "But the real tragedy involves the daughters caught in the middle" continued Charlotte.
"How can you even watch this?" asked Elizabeth, her tone uneven.
"Because...the journey is worth the wait, even with some of the ridiculous plot twists they throw in there" replied Charlotte. "They also change the discovery within the Manor every season so it keeps interesting. I mean, this season has a cavern of crystals discovered underneath the Manor as its main plot twist" said Charlotte humorously. Elizabeth couldn't help but chuckle at that, it was just so absurd.
"Now...do you want to know about the daughters?" asked Charlotte.
"Might as well...can't get more traumatised" replied Elizabeth sarcastically.
"Ok...here goes" started Charlotte, pointing towards one of the girls. The girl's hair was hiding her face, and the stare she was giving seemed to indicate shyness. "That's Lady Valencia, she eventually comes out of her shell to get revenge against the household" explained Charlotte.
Charlotte moved on, pointing towards a distinctive redhead. "That's Lady Farrowhight. She's insanely loyal to the family, managing to hide her darker impulses. However, she eventually caves into these darker impulses due to increased family pressure which eventually leads to her turning against the household."
"Ok, that's enough," said Elizabeth, raising her hands. Charlotte eyed her best friend, noticing she looked somewhat pale.
"Sorry if this unsettled you," said Charlotte, her expression apologetic. "If you want I can..." started Charlotte.
"Just continue the programme" interrupted Elizabeth, stroking Holly for comfort. It was at this point that Charlotte put her arm around her friend. Despite the odd look Elizabeth gave her, Charlotte could feel the appreciation her best friend was giving her.
At that moment, the pair heard the door swing open as they knew Rebecca had returned.
"Girls...where are you?" asked Rebecca, her voice ringing through the kitchen area.
"We're in the living room" replied Elizabeth, noticing Rebecca walk through to meet them moments later. Almost immediately, Elizabeth noticed Rebecca's neutral expression.
"So how was your day? Is Carol coming along nicely?" asked Elizabeth, trying to take her mind off what she'd been talking with Charlotte. Just something about it...spooked her.
Rebecca was lost in her thoughts. "What do I tell them?...should I tell them?" wondered Rebecca internally.
Elizabeth's expression became concerned as she stared back at Rebecca. "It was bad...wasn't it? Was Carol not a good fit?" asked Elizabeth.
"No!" interrupted Rebecca swiftly. Her tone caught Elizabeth off guard. "I mean...no," said Rebecca, her tone calmer as she breathed inwards. "Carol's eager but also...concerning. I need more time to know if we are to be worried" explained Rebecca. "However, she did add two new lionesses by herself" reassured Rebecca.
"So, what's the problem Rebecca?" asked Elizabeth. She noticed Rebecca still seemed uneasy and something was clearly bothering her.
"It's...it's" started Rebecca, trying to think up an excuse. However, Elizabeth's glare froze whatever excuses she could think of. "Wait...this is how we had problems last time, I should just tell them" conceded Rebecca internally.
"After adding the new lionesses...someone from the Society came today," said Rebecca simply.
The television came to a sudden stop as Charlotte stared blankly at Rebecca. Elizabeth did the same, both of their eyes widened in surprise but more importantly...fear.
"The Society? As in Diana's crowd?" asked Elizabeth uneasily.
"Yes" replied Rebecca simply. "His name's Mr Darko...and he wants to make a deal with us" continued Rebecca, her tone resigned to the situation.
The group let the words hang in the air. They were at a loss of what they could do as it seemed they were about to be thrown into chaos once more.
For them, it seemed like the honeymoon period was truly over.
"So...what exactly do they want from us?" asked Elizabeth.
"Something to benefit themselves obviously...could this be a rescue attempt for Diana?" added Charlotte.
"No, they can't want that...they would've done that years ago" replied Rebecca. "I did cover my tracks well back then" added Rebecca, trying to reassure her companions. "What they want appears to be complete access to the Zoo," said Rebecca firmly.
"Wait...complete access?" said Charlotte.
"Yes" replied Rebecca uneasily. The pair seemed to stare at each other uneasily, Elizabeth interpreting them as she felt a sense of frustration come over her.
"How can we even be considering this...after what happened nine years ago?!" started Elizabeth, feeling an emotional overload. "The Governor may not be the best but him and his cronies are preferable to outright psychopaths, especially after we fought so hard to get control of the Zoo back" finished Elizabeth, breathing heavily.
"I'm not disagreeing with you Elizabeth," said Rebecca simply. "However, when dealing with the Society...we don't really have a choice. I know that from experience" continued Rebecca.
"Just answer me Rebecca...would our animals be in danger?" asked Elizabeth, her tone indicating she was fed up.
"No...the Society seems to have a strange obsession with animals. I've never been able to understand it" replied Rebecca. "However, I think I have a plan to work this to our advantage" reassured Rebecca.
"Well do tell please," said Elizabeth, crossing her arms as Holly snuggled against her. She looked down, smiling for a brief moment.
"Let me be honest...I'm nervous about this as much as you are," admitted Rebecca. "But, there might be an opportunity to reap the benefits from both the Society and the Governor" explained Rebecca.
"How?" asked Charlotte.
"By playing them against each other" replied Rebecca.
"Are you crazy?...that's suicide!" shouted Elizabeth.
"I feel it," acknowledged Rebecca. "But we don't have the advantage here" continued Rebecca.
"Ok, what benefits would we get from the Society?" asked Charlotte.
"Mr Darko promised to tie up our loose ends for us," said Rebecca. "If he does his job right...we shouldn't have to worry about controversies anymore like the school trip" added Rebecca. "He also promised to begin updating our security and ensuring we don't go bankrupt if the Governor pulls the plug on us" continued Rebecca.
"I don't know...something seems off," said Charlotte. She was trying to comprehend the agreement, there must be some strings attached. "Do we have any other options?" thought Charlotte, trying to think of any alternatives, anything.
"Damn it" finished Charlotte internally, conceding that there was no outcome where they came out better.
"Ok, I'll follow you in whatever decision we make but...I will not be involved in direct correspondence" explained Charlotte. "I'll plan and prepare things for you but I will not directly converse with them" continued Charlotte, her tone firm but fair.
"I guess that means we're doing this," said Elizabeth uneasily. "I'll update the Spirit later, make sure they don't see anything they shouldn't" continued Elizabeth. "However, like Charlotte, I'm not getting involved in direct correspondence with them" finished Elizabeth.
"Understood...thank you for understanding girls" replied Rebecca, smiling. "I'll contact him later on, best to do it tonight to stop him reaching the wrong conclusion" continued Rebecca, pulling a business card from her pocket.
"May I look at the card?" asked Charlotte. "Might as well look into who we're dealing with" said Charlotte.
"Later, I'm going to shower before contacting him. I'll give it to you then" replied Rebecca, preparing to leave the living room.
Before she left, however, Rebecca turned back. She faced the pair on the sofa as she gave a warm sincere smile.
"Thank you..for everything," said Rebecca, her tone sincere as she left the girls to their own devices.
Charlotte and Elizabeth watched her go. They turned back to each other, feeling a sense of unease about their new predicament.
"I wish we had another option," said Charlotte, her voice sounding defeated.
"Agreed, I hope we pull through this" replied Elizabeth, trying to keep supportive of her friend. She then turned back to the television as she noticed 'Great Expectations' once more.
"Ok, so is there any comedy in this show?" asked Elizabeth.
"Well...the subplot this season has a coven of vampires in the attic" replied Charlotte. "It's almost impossible to take seriously," continued Charlotte, sounding reassured.
However, Elizabeth could sense Charlotte's appreciation of her reassurance attempt.
The pair continued to watch the television into the night, worried about their future.
The honeymoon period was over...now the only thing remaining was reality.
Back to the Office:
"At least they seemed to appreciate me passing it by them," thought Rebecca, continuing to work through her stack of paperwork. "I just hope this doesn't doom everything...everyone again" finished Rebecca, still feeling uneasy.
"At least we're working together now," said Rebecca, continuing to run her pen across the paperwork. "Makes me feel bad for trying to break them up" continued Rebecca, feeling momentary regret which she dismissed.
After all, that was all now in the past.
Rebecca soon heard a distinctive beeping as she looked down at her watch. It was nearly noon as Rebecca remembered the other reason why she was here today.
"Ah yes, the new additions will be here soon," said Rebecca, unable to contain the joy in her voice. "Time to add some new animals for the Canine Sanctuary" continued Rebecca, deciding that the wolf pack could do with some company.
Rebecca stood up, recalling how the family had expressed interest after seeing her poster from a few months back. She smiled as she was glad that the sneak preview promotion was beginning to gain traction. Rebecca already had several people expressing interest as she intended to eventually add all of them to the New Zoo.
"But for now...let's get our new additions settled in," said Rebecca, her tone happy. Even with all the problems currently plaguing her, Rebecca was grateful to be living her dream.
"One step at a time," thought Rebecca, leaving the Office.
It was time to meet the Lovewells.
At The Stone Archways:
It was just past noon as a family of four walked under the stone archways of the New Zoo.
They entered the Main Hallway, the teenage girl amongst them scribbling in a notebook of some kind. Meanwhile, the small child amongst them was looking around enthusiastically, a wide smile on her face.
"It's nice to see her so happy," thought Merryl. Merryl wrapped her arm affectionately around her husband as she was looking forward to spending time with her family. She had come dressed up in her best white dress. It flowed down to her knees, glistening in the sun. Her smooth blond hair was well combed back, her blue eyes staring with wonder at the well-made design of the Zoo.
Her husband William smiled alongside her, content with letting his youngest daughter go slightly ahead. His short brown hair was well combed, a casual purple jumper adorned his upper body. His jeans were a dark blue colour as his brown eyes looked back at his wife, noticing her concern.
"I just wonder why Katrina didn't return my texts," said Merryl, confusion evident on her face. "I thought she'd love to have another family outing together" continued Merryl. "Dawn was certainly disappointed that she wouldn't be seeing Alex again" finished Merryl.
"I'm sure they're fine...perhaps they were just busy today" replied William. "Although Alex seemed rather uncomfortable with Dawn," thought William, not wishing to tell that to his wife right now. "I guess it's because Dawn is rather hyper" continued William internally, noticing Dawn was almost out of sight.
"Dawn...can you stay there please?!" called out Merryl, her voice almost angelic. Dawn turned back, facing her mother as she smiled widely.
"Ok mother" replied Dawn bubbly. She stood still, shaking with excitement as her blond ponytails bounced a bit. The sky blue dress she was wearing felt snug and comfortable against her small body as her blue eyes stared around with intrigue.
"Quinn? Are you there darling?" said Merryl, looking back after no response. She smiled softly as she eyed her daughter who had indeed fallen behind.
"Ok, just a few little edits here" mumbled Quinn, making a few last-minute edits to a picture she was working on. Her thick glasses shifted down her face as Quinn intently scribbled her pencil across the paper. Her brown eyes were staring intensely downwards, indicating the deep concentration that the girl was under.
Quinn's blond hair was long, stretching down to her knees as beads coated every other strand. They were arranged into various patterns that Quinn had created over the years as a black beret adorned her head. In contrast to the bright colours of her family, Quinn's wardrobe was rather dark in comparison. Her dark purple skirt complimented the black jumper she was wearing.
"It's nice that she has a passion...I just wish she'd work on when it's appropriate to act on it" thought Merryl. She smiled as she eyed her daughter intently, noticing she seemed to be content with whatever sketch she was doing. She noticed Quinn putting her sketchbook away in her rucksack, looking around with some confusion.
"Quinn! We're over here darling" said Merryl, calling out to her daughter. Within moments, Quinn had picked up on her mother's voice as she jogged forward, a slightly difficult task in her high-heel boots.
"Sorry for falling behind mother," said Quinn, her tone apologetic.
"It's ok dear, now let's go see some animals. After all...you might get some inspiration" replied Merryl, her tone understanding.
Quinn resisted the urge to squee. She truly did love her art and the support her parents gave her into acting out her passion.
"Can we go to the Feline Sanctuary? Can we? Can we? Can we?" asked Dawn excitedly.
"Of course my little flower" replied William. He smiled as Dawn's smile widened. She began to head off in the direction of the large overhead sign as the family followed their youngest member.
"Typical Dawn...homewrecker," thought Quinn, barely keeping her disdain hidden. Despite loving her parents, she wasn't fond of several of their decisions.
Having Dawn was one such decision. Quinn had enjoyed ten years of being an only child. She had soaked up the affection and love like a sponge. She had enjoyed a truly amazing childhood with understanding parents, supportive teachers and some truly spectacular friends.
Then came Quinn's fourteenth birthday party. The party that everything that could go wrong...did go wrong. Quinn remembered every detail, her excellent memory for detail was both a blessing...and a curse.
"I just wish Dawn was less hyper...or that my parents controlled her some more," thought Quinn, struggling to stay optimistic after what happened. "Or gave me attention like they used to" continued Quinn bitterly.
Quinn shook her head, determined to take her mind off her 'sister.' She felt her thoughts drift back to her childhood as she recalled the daughter of her mother's friend.
What was her name again?
"Caitlyn," thought Quinn, her thoughts coming back as she recalled how both families had tried to push the pair into becoming friends. Unfortunately, neither of the girls had much in common. They had both been much too withdrawn, Quinn through choice and Cailyn through shyness.
Therefore, neither had been anything more than acquaintances.
Still, it hadn't stopped the families from having monthly get-togethers. Which is what this visit to the New Zoo should have been.
"If Katrina had picked up the phone," thought Quinn, shaking her head as she noticed her family had come to a stop. She looked upwards, noticing what she quickly concluded was the Feline Sanctuary.
Quinn, alongside the rest of her family, looked inside the Feline Sanctuary intriguingly. Quinn's eyes widened in amazement, noticing the majesticness of the nearby tiger which, unknown to her, was Caitlyn.
Merryl, however, was eyeing one of the nearby snow leopards. It seemed to be laid down with a cub as Merryl couldn't help but be more intrigued. The snow leopard truly looked adorable as she continued to watch, unknown she was watching her friend, Katrina.
Soon, however, they would all learn the secret of the New Zoo.
Within the Feline Sanctuary:
Currently, Katrina was laid down with Alex. She looked around, noticing Adrian not too far away. She looked 'concerned' for her husband.
"He's still finding this difficult" thought Katrina, resisting the thoughts entering her mind. "No, I don't regret doing this to save my children" continued Katrina, trying to reassure herself. She had been doing so ever since her transformation.
However, it was becoming increasingly harder to do...and resent her daughter for putting her in this situation.
"No, Caitlyn's been manipulated...she has to be" thought Katrina. She looked around, noticing Caitlyn alongside Travis. She seemed...happy, confident. "She...at least she's happy" concluded Katrina, shaking her head as she continued to look around.
Katrina soon noticed a familiar face as she eyed Diana. Diana was off in the distance, appearing to be talking to the new pair of lionesses that had been added yesterday.
"I suppose Rebecca's not finished the collection yet" chuffed Katrina quietly. She dismissed the thought, returning her concentration onto Diana.
"It's good she's offering moral support right now" chuffed Katrina. She shook her head, surprised but grateful that Diana had volunteered herself to help anyone who needed assistance with adapting to their new bodies. "But does she need any support?" thought Katrina, feeling concerned for the poor girl.
After all, she'd been here longer than any of them.
However, before Katrina could think further, her ears picked up the distinctive growls of...
"Goddammit Jasmine, there are children around!" thought Katrina frustratingly. "Can't she go back to her enclosure for that?!" continued Katrina, feeling irritated at the shepanther. The shepanther who had seemed to take a greater interest in her for some reason.
Meanwhile, Alex was looking around mindlessly. He eyed the other cubs not too far off. Kiara noticed him staring, waving her paw to encourage him to join them. Spot & Cinnamon seemed to agree...even if Luna appeared indifferent.
"Can I join the other cubs' mummy?" chuffed Alex kindly. Katrina snapped out of her thoughts as she heard her child. She looked at the cubs for a moment, contemplating what could happen. She felt a sense of panic building within as she made her decision.
"Sorry Alex, but I'd prefer if you stayed with me," said Katrina. Katrina saw the sadness in her boy's eyes before her ears picked up a distinctive sound. It was almost like...
"People?" chuffed Katrina. She decided to go and investigate, prevent Rebecca from adding a few new additions perhaps. She gripped Alex by the nape of his neck, ignoring his protests. He quickly gave up, realising he was at the mercy of his mother.
Alex took one last look over at the other cub. He felt jealous inside as he saw them playing together.
"I wish I could be with them," thought Alex, feeling himself moving as his mother headed towards the edge of the Sanctuary.
Unknown to Katrina, she had been watched. Jasmine, fresh off another round with Derek, had been staring at the snow leopard with great interest.
"I suppose I should introduce myself soon," thought Jasmine, her tail swishing playfully. She was already aware that Katrina seemed irritated with her...she didn't pay much mind as she soon found a tree to relax under.
Jasmine laid in the shade, curious as to where Sandra had gotten off to.
Elsewhere, Katrina had arrived at the edge of the Feline Sanctuary. With Alex in tow, she confirmed the origin of the noise to have been people. She eyed them, noticing something familiar about them as dread began to fill Katrina's soul.
"Merryl?!" thought Katrina, her eyes widening as she accidentally dropped Alex from her grip. Alex didn't seem to give it much mind as he noticed a familiar small girl amongst the group.
"Wait...this...this is best time to get back for making me un...comfortable," thought Alex, taking an opportunity to playfully growl at Dawn.
To Alex's surprise, however, this seemed to have the opposite effect. Dawn's excitement appeared to be growing, the little girl giggling at the snow leopard cub.
"Wait...this not working?" thought Alex, confused. He quickly dismissed his confusion, however, deciding to entertain Dawn. The cub was just thankful to have some company which wasn't his parents for once and after all...he had been entertained when he was human. It was only fair that Dawn got the same.
Katrina, oblivious to what her son was doing, was still sat in shock at Merryl's presence. She yowled at the group, trying to get their attention. Tell them to escape, anything to prevent them from becoming animals.
Unfortunately, none of them seemed to take notice as they were surprised and enjoying the presence of the snow leopard up close.
However, that was not particularly true as Quinn had been staring with interest. The gears in her brain were wracking as she held her hand to her chin.
"Something doesn't seem right," thought Quinn, considering different possibilities in her mind. However, she wasn't coming up with any plausible reasons.
Welcoming The New Additions:
Rebecca was walking near the Feline Sanctuary when she noticed the Lovewells currently looking inside. She smiled, glad to be back to the grind as she nodded.
They would make fantastic additions to the Canine Sanctuary.
"Might as well introduce myself?" thought Rebecca, smiling widely as she walked forward.
"Welcome to the New Zoo...you must be the Lovewells" started Rebecca, noticing the strange stare that the teenage girl appeared to be giving her. "My name's Rebecca and I'll be your guide today" continued Rebecca, her smile not fading as she offered her hand out for a shake.
Merryl eyed Rebecca's hand, accepting the handshake on behalf of her family. She smiled, happy to be here with her family.
"What animals do you have?" asked Dawn excitingly.
"We have many different animals with more to come," said Rebecca, matching Dawn's excitement as she bent down to look directly at her. "I just know you're going to love it" added Rebecca, Dawn giving off a small giggle at the interaction.
An interaction which Quinn, despite her disdain for Dawn, couldn't help but find creepy.
"Excuse me?" interjected Quinn. Rebecca stared at Quinn, curious about her. "I've noticed that several people at my school have gone missing over the last few months from here...including a girl called Caitlyn" started Quinn, her tone accusatory. "Care to explain?" added Quinn.
Rebecca was surprised that Quinn had asked this question. "Wait, she knows Caitlyn?" thought Rebecca, surprised that Caitlyn had never mentioned Quinn. This had caught her momentarily taken off guard before an idea came into her mind.
One to twist this situation to her advantage.
"Quinn, I don't think now is..." started Merryl.
"No, it's ok Merryl. Allow me to explain" said Rebecca, confidence oozing from her. "I must say, congratulations on your astute observational skills Quinn. I guess I need to reveal our secret earlier than planned" continued Rebecca.
"What's the secret?" said Dawn excitedly. She was bouncing in place, eagerly enjoying herself. Merryl and William were likewise the same, enjoying the time they were spending as a family.
"The secret is...every animal within these walls was formerly human," said Rebecca. She noticed the wide eyes the family was giving her. She turned to Quinn, smiling softly before saying "Your school friends...including Caitlyn are currently on shift. I'll turn them back at the end of the day."
Quinn eyed Rebecca sceptically. Something wasn't quite adding up.
"What about the other animals? These can't all possibly be my classmates and people from school" said Quinn.
"And you'd be correct again" replied Rebecca. "Some of our collection stay around for a bit longer. It's something we offer to our sneak previews" continued Rebecca.
"Wait...so who are the snow leopards staring at us now?" asked Merryl, pointing towards Katrina and Alex who could only watch with interest.
"Ah, this is Katrina and Alex. Caitlyn recommended this to them a little while ago. They've been enjoying it" explained Rebecca.
Katrina, hearing Rebecca, was horrified. Rebecca was scamming her best friend. She looked down, curious about how to give them an indication to run.
She looked down, noticing the dirt as she decided to write a quick message.
However, before she could do anything, Katrina felt something quickly invading her mind. IT spread quickly like a disease, causing her to lose control of herself. She couldn't even scream as she felt trapped, lost within the body that had been hers for the last three months.
"Now now Katrina," said Rebecca, the voice ringing in Katrina's mind. Katrina was powerless against the influence that had contaminated her mind. "I'm giving you your first warning...now play along little kitty" continued Rebecca. Katrina tried to resist, break free of whatever control Rebecca had under her.
"Any more of this and I'll wipe your mind clean" threatened Rebecca. This got Katrina to stop, she could only stare at the apparition in her mind. "Nice to see I have your attention...now play along" warned Rebecca firmly.
It was then Katrina found her awareness returning. She looked around, still powerless as she could only stare. She noticed Rebecca eyeing her, a small sadistic smile on her face.
"Now, Katrina's been enjoying it...haven't you?" asked Rebecca.
Try as she might, Katrina found herself forced to nod in agreement. Whatever influence Rebecca had over her mind was still overpowering her.
"She's certainly been enjoying it alongside Alex. Even Adrian is amongst them. They decided they wanted to remain animals for a little longer" said Rebecca, selling her pitch to the interested family.
Except for Quinn.
"Something's not adding up," thought Quinn, still unsure about all this. It clearly didn't seem like how Rebecca was describing.
"Now...would you be interested in spending some time as an animal?" asked Rebecca.
Before Quinn could say anything, Merryl stood forward. "Yes, it seems like a very rare opportunity," said Merryl.
"Yay!" shouted Dawn enthusiastically, clearly looking forward as well.
"It would certainly be an interesting perspective," said William, not too enthused but willing to go along with his family.
"How long would we be stuck as animals?" asked Quinn, her tone still sceptical of the Zoo's true intentions.
Rebecca eyed Quinn before taking a quick look at the date. "Since today's Friday...how does over the weekend sound?" offered Rebecca.
"I think it sounds like a great idea," said Dawn enthusiastically. She was looking forward to seeing the world through different eyes.
"I agree...it would be something different," said William.
"Then it's settled," said Merryl, happy with Rebecca's proposal. "What do you think Quinn?" asked Merryl, staring at her other daughter.
"I...I think this is crazy" replied Quinn, struggling to comprehend her predicament. The group stared at her which caused her to feel uneasy.
"Can...can we have a moment?" asked Merryl.
"Of course, take all the time you need," said Rebecca, smiling contentedly.
Quinn and Merryl went off to one side for a moment, out of earshot of the others as they stared at each other.
"I know this is hard for you Quinn but...think of it as a chance to bond with family. Maybe you and Dawn can find some common ground" said Merryl reassuringly.
"But we're trusting her to change us back...what if she doesn't?" replied Quinn. "I just feel something's wrong," continued Quinn.
"You heard Rebecca, the others in here are like we'll be," said Merryl. "I think this could be a unique opportunity. Who knows...it could inspire your art" continued Merryl, aware of what she was doing.
Quinn, well aware of this tactic, tried to ignore it. However, her curiosity was now peaked as she considered how being an animal could truly inspire her art. Perhaps a new perspective wouldn't be so bad...at least for a few days. It was clouding her judgement and common sense, the temptation proving to be too great for the teenage girl.
"Ok...I'll do it," said Quinn.
"That's my girl" replied Merryl, hugging her daughter briefly as Quinn smiled. She was happy to be getting the attention of her mother.
It was just...like old times.
"Nice to see you've returned," said Rebecca, her smile unwavering.
"We'll do it...will we be joining the big cats?" asked Merryl.
Rebecca, recalling how she wanted to add to the Canine Sanctuary, shook her head in response.
"Apologies but the Feline Sanctuary is currently full but...I can offer you the Canine Sanctuary this time" offered Rebecca. The family, even Quinn reluctantly, agreed to this. "Perfect, I'll put you down for the Feline Sanctuary next time," said Rebecca.
"Brilliant, now follow me," said Rebecca. She began to skip away from the family, the family following her quickly as they left the Feline Sanctuary. As they were leaving, Katrina had been nodding and waving away at them, whatever magic influencing her still in control.
Fortunately, once they had gone, the magic ceased to control Katrina. Within moments, she felt back in control of her body as she looked around.
"Alex? Alex, where are you?" yowled Katrina in a panic. She frantically looked around, trying to find any trace of her son.
He had just disappeared.
Katrina turned back, looking into the Feline Sanctuary as she tried to find her son. She took one look outside, noticing them leaving in the corner of her eye. She then raced back into the Sanctuary, determined to find her son.
Meanwhile, Jasmine eyed Katrina not too far off. She shook her head, 'chuckling' as the snow leopard seemed to be in a panic. Jasmine imagined her cub had gone off wandering, probably to go and see his friend.
"Guess I should probably introduce myself," thought Jasmine, noticing Katrina still looking for Alex. She considered whether she should tell Katrina that she had seen him with Kiara a few minutes ago.
"Nah" concluded Jasmine, finding the sight of Katrina trying to find her cub who couldn't have gotten far. She placed her head down, feeling a little sleepy within the shade.
Soon, Jasmine was fast asleep, her final thought wondering where Derek had gotten off to.
At the Canine Sanctuary:
It had been a few minutes but the family had arrived at the Canine Sanctuary. Quinn still felt uneasy but the opportunity that her mother had suggested had kept her baited like a fish on a hook.
"It's rather empty," said William, taking a glance inside the Sanctuary.
"I know...not many people choose the canines" replied Rebecca, a smile still plastered on her face. Soon, the others had joined them, glancing into the Sanctuary curiously as they tried to find any of the animals living there.
At this point, the Wolves walked forward. Andy and Keith were currently glancing at the observing humans as Mindy and Bethany weren't far behind.
"Do you think we should?" asked Keith.
"No point...the Zoo's magic would just control us" replied Mindy.
"So...we wait until they're in and make them feel welcome?" asked Bethany.
"Yes, none of them should be made to feel alone," said Andy, shaking his head slightly.
The pack continued to stare at the people as Rebecca smiled, glad that some of the animals were cooperating.
"Glad to see the wolf pack has introduced themselves," said Rebecca. "But for now...how about we get you settled in? I think Arctic Foxes would suit you all perfectly" suggested Rebecca. She offered a picture to the family, letting them pass it between themselves.
"Sounds good, it'll be good to stay together," said Merryl, her interest present in her voice.
"Yes, it'll be best to spend time as a family," agreed William, smiling as he looked at his wife.
"Agreed, they look so cute," said Dawn, her enthusiasm present on her face.
Quinn said nothing, still unsure about the situation. However, after looking at her family, she nodded in agreement. She conceded, knowing there was no way out of this situation now.
Now she could only trust that Rebecca was telling the truth.
"Ok, let's go to your living quarters for the weekend," said Rebecca, her voice sincere. She walked away, noticing the family following her.
It didn't take long for the group to arrive at the Arctic Fox Enclosure. She headed towards the door as she quickly opened it.
"Ok, now if I could have your personal items to make sure they're safe," said Rebecca.
Merryl nodded in understanding, removing her wedding ring. William did the same as Dawn removed her bobbles forming her ponytails, causing her hair to fall flat.
Quinn however, was reluctant to hand over her rucksack. She clung to it fiercely, as if her life depended on it.
"I assure you it will be safe," said Rebecca, her tone reassuring. Merryl gave Quinn a warm look, trying to reassure her daughter. Quinn faltered, still reluctant but not wishing to part with her precious rucksack.
"Do...do I trust her?" thought Quinn, still finding herself uneasy with the situation. However, when she thought back to the opportunity, the chance to improve her art, she finally relented.
She gave her rucksack to Rebecca who accepted it graciously.
"Now, if you'll all enter...I'll leave you to your privacy," said Rebecca, her tone professional.
With that, the family walked through the door into the enclosure.
As Rebecca closed the door behind them, locking it as she did so, the family didn't realise that their fates were now sealed.
Within the Arctic Fox Enclosure:
The Family looked curiously around the enclosure that would be their new home for the weekend.
It was covered with large areas of snow with large rocky mountains for exploring.
A cave was dug deep within one of the mountains, acting as an area to be away from prying eyes. It also looked like it would act as a den. A stone-cold water supply was available for them to drink from as a cold waterfall flowed within. The enclosure was also very cold, fitting for the animal they are about to become. This was causing the Family to feel rather cold against their thin clothing which wasn't well adjusted for the temperature.
Finally, there is a small door which is currently closed. The Family imagined it connected to the Canine Sanctuary they had looked at before coming in.
"It's rather cold...isn't it?" said Quinn, rubbing her arms.
"We'll warm up once we start transforming" replied Merryl, feeling likewise cold. She resisted a cold shiver as a sudden warmth began to develop from within. "I...I think my changes are beginning" said Merryl, joy in her voice.
"Same here," said William, beginning to feel an itching sensation come across his body. He imagined his fur was beginning to grow in as it began to feel very uncomfortable against his clothing. He cringed, discomfort present on his face as his fur continued to develop.
"Yay..look at my nose sister!" squealed Dawn with delight. As Quinn looked at her, she noticed Dawn's nose appeared to be darkening. Even as the sensations within began to warm up Quinn, she tried to resist what was happening to her. Dawn seemed too busy taking in the new scents to realise Quinn's discomfort and her parents were undergoing changes of their own.
However, it was becoming harder to resist as Quinn felt pressure at her rear. It pushed out further and further. Something was growing as Quinn could no longer hold it back.
A large, long bushy tail emerged from her rear, tearing her skirt slightly. It waved tauntingly at Quinn, covered in white busy fur from tail to tip as Quinn was in a state of shock.
"Wait...is that...a tail?" mumbled Quinn, fear coming over her. She didn't want this...she needed to get out of her. Even as she glanced at her family changing, Dawn's ears had begun to stretch out, developing into points. William had removed his jumper, the white fur proving to be overwhelming his skin. Finally, Merryl was eyeing her hands intriguingly as she noticed her developing claws.
However, Quinn's body was rocked by another sensation before she could move. She fell as she could only watch the rest of her family changing.
"Amazing," said William quietly as the fur continued to build up over his form. He felt pressure in her rear, guessing it was his new tail. He unzipped his jeans, pulling them down as his new tail swung free. Fortunately, white fur was preserving his modesty as he felt a further tingling in his fingers.
Like his wife, William's hands began to cramp up. His fingernails began to sharpen into claws as they curved, forming perfect fox paws as he continued to glance around. He felt similar cramping in his feet, realising his rear paws would be forming soon.
Dawn was smiling in joy as she felt the changes continue to affect her face. She noticed her mouth moving away from her, stretching out into a pointed snout. The scents were growing stronger, more curious for the changing pup. She continued to smell, feeling further sensations coming over her.
"I'm loving this...I'll be so pretty," thought Dawn, feeling her hair tingling as it began to convert into fur. It bleached, the blond being swapped for white. It then began to tickle as it spread downwards, causing Dawn to giggle at the sensation. She clapped her hands, them also beginning to tingle as her paws began to form.
Meanwhile, Merryl could only watch with intrigue as her hands had cramped up, forming a pair of canine paws. It was difficult to see her changes under her dress but she could feel the growth of white fur like her husband. She blushed as she noticed, if not for his fur, William would've been completely nude. Still, the nest sensation coming over her took her attention as she felt a sensation forming in her feet.
Her feet began to cramp up, her toes shrinking as one bent back into her foot. Her nails sharpened into canine claws as they tore through her shoes. Fur began to develop from them, quickly spreading upwards like wildfire as she felt a sensation forming around her arms and legs.
"Wait...what's going on?" thought Merryl, intrigue filling her as she noticed she seemed to be getting...smaller. Her legs shrunk, quickly forcing her onto her hands. A sudden 'click' in her back confined Merryl to all fours. Her dress was now rather uncomfortable against her form as she tried to find a way to ease her discomfort.
As she stared at her claws, she smirked. Within moments, Merryl put them to good use as she tore her dress off her changing body. Her new form was exposed to the world, fortunately, covered in fur as she felt her breasts fade away, quickly being replaced by teats across her chest and stomach.
"Wait...that was my favourite dress," thought Merryl, slight agitation in her mind as the realisation of what she'd just done set in. Nevertheless, she looked around, eyeing her other family members. Dawn seemed to have progressed considerably, almost a complete fox as she wormed her way out of her small sky-blue dress. William wasn't too far behind as he was now confined to all fours, fur spread everywhere. The only thing still human was his face.
Quinn, however, except for her tail, remained relatively unchanged.
Merryl smiled, eyeing her other family members who seemed to get the same idea.
"Wait...why are you?" said Quinn, confused and rather fearful of what her family was doing. They came up close to her as they began to rub themselves against her. Despite Quinn's protests, whatever energy she tried to use to move was nonexistent.
Quinn could feel multiple sensations coming over her body as she watched her family's final changes begin.
Dawn's face began to finalise into a new shape. A few final traces of white fur began to cover it, erasing the pink skin underneath. Her blue eyes remained human, a mischievous look in them as she 'smiled.'
William's face began its final changes as his ears stretched out, forcing themselves into points. Whtie fur began to spread upwards, replacing his brown hair as his face stretched out into a muzzle. His nose darkened, becoming black as he felt the new scents waft against it. His brown eyes remained as inquisitive as ever, implying he was still human underneath.
Finally, Merryl could feel the changes rocking her form. Her muzzle grew out, Merryl unable to resist moaning in pleasure as her tail did the same. The thing that scared Quinn was the moan started as human but became an animalistic yowl towards the end.
Within moments, Quinn's family had been reduced to Arctic Foxes. And...given the sensations crossing Quinn's body...it was now her turn.
Quinn tried to resist, the sensations rocking her form as he body began to change at an increased rate. Tears flowed from her eyes, freezing in the cold temperatures. She could feel white fur beginning to grow as it pushed against her jumper. Reluctantly, Quinn felt forced to strip the jumper as the itchiness became too much for her to handle.
"No...I don't want this, please let me leave" mumbled Quinn. It was then she felt something soft next to her. Upon quick inspection, it was her mother. Quinn couldn't help herself as she sobbed into her mother's new fur, trying to keep the thoughts away.
This, however, would prove to be Quinn's undoing. Her mind began to wander, instincts forming as her human concerns began to melt away.
"Wait...why am I scared?" thought Quinn, her eyes seeming to darken. Dawn noticed this, becoming immediately concerned for her big sister.
Something was wrong!
Fortunately, before Dawn could react, Quinn's eyes seemed to return to normal. They regained their lustre, Quinn's glasses falling from her face as her ears changed, becoming pointy. They could no longer support the thick lenses as they fell to the ground.
Quinn could feel her rear paws forming as she hugged her mother. Her new claws tore apart her black boots as the white fur that was covering her form seemed to spread to her lower body. It was quickly transitioning into a pelt as Quinn found it pointless to resist.
Quinn felt a tingling in her hands. She could feel her claws forming as her finger cramped up, losing on in the process. Her nails sharpened, thickening into new claws. A sudden shift in her arms and legs caused Quinn's form to compress. They shrunk as the skirt fell to the ground, no longer able to be supported. A small 'click' in Quinn's back confined her to all fours as she looked around.
From the neck down, she was now a complete Arctic Fox.
"Might as well get this over with" thought Quinn bitterly as the transformation began to spread up her face. She could feel her nose darkened, becoming wet as her new muzzle stretched out. White fur began to spread upwards, forcing its way towards Quinn's hair.
At that, Quinn's hair, the last indication of her humanity, began to recede. Quinn yowled in protest, no longer capable of speech as her blond hair vanished under a pelt of white. Her bead patterns fell to the floor, the beads scattered between each other as Quinn barely resisted the urge of tears once more.
"At least this is only for a weekend...I hope" was Quinn's final thought as her changes solidified.
It was done...where there was a family of humans that was now a family of Arctic Foxes.
Before they could do much further, a sudden boom spooked the family as they looked around.
They barely managed to see, but something appeared to be happening to the Canine Sanctuary.
Within the Canine Sanctuary:
"What's going on?" wondered Mindy, looking upwards at the developing green magic.
"Don't know" replied Andy, motioning Mindy back with his paw to get to cover.
Mindy, albeit reluctantly, complied. She noticed Snowball had already taken cover behind her. She could only hope that Keith and Bethany, and their pups, were safe.
Within moments, the green magic shot down, striking the Sanctuary at its core.
Andy covered his eyes, the brightness proving to be too much. However, as the light faded, Andy looked around, his eyes widening.
The Sanctuary seemed to be transforming, changing. Mindy, Keith and Bethany had noticed the same as part of the Sanctuary seemed to be converting. The familiar earth-like terrain seemed to be being replaced with ice. The temperature seemed to drop slightly, accounting for colder animals as the snow seemed to form on part of the ground.
Within Moments, the Canine Sanctuary had an Arctic expansion.
"So...this is for the newcomers I guess?" barked Mindy.
"Seems like it" admitted Andy, 'shrugging.'
"What now?" asked Keith.
"We wait for them to come out I guess" replied Bethany.
The wolf pack waited patiently, desiring to comfort the new additions when they emerged.
Meanwhile, the complete Arctic foxes were getting used to their new bodies as Merryl eyed Quinn.
Quinn still seemed shaken from the ordeal as Merryl began to feel a little guilty for coercing her into this.
"You ok dear?" barked Merryl, motioning towards her daughter.
"...This...feels...so...strange" replied Quinn, still trying to comprehend her new form.
"I agree...perhaps we should work it out together" offered Merryl, trying to offer moral support to her daughter.
"That sounds...nice" purred Quinn, feeling a moment of peace.
"I suppose we should go meet the wolves?" barked William, Dawn bouncing by his side.
"Good idea, it'd be best to see our temporary roommates" replied Merryl. She motioned Quinn to follow her as the family approached the small door which had now opened.
The family walked in as a pack, curious to see what the weekend held. They each felt genuine happiness come over them, even Quinn was beginning to feel comfortable.
However, unknown to them, all good things must come to an end.
Epilogue:
"Typical that Quinn would panic," said Rebecca, having watched the whole show from her monitors inside the Security Room. "As much as I wish to let her mind go...I needed to keep it to maintain the illusion...at least for now" continued Rebecca. Her smile widened, satisfied to have expanded on the Canine Sanctuary at long last.
"Still, it'll be worth it for the discovery when they realise they're going to be here much longer than a weekend," said Rebecca, unable to resist the urge to laugh. She laughed uproariously, still trying to work out how they could have been so gullible. She noticed the new Arctic foxes approaching the wolves, not paying either group any mind.
"Might as well see what needs to go to the on-site incinerator?" thought Rebecca, deciding to leave the Arctic foxes to their own devices for now. She looked through the belongings, her curiosity bringing her to Quinn's rucksack.
"Might as well see what she was being so protective of" thought Rebecca. She opened the rucksack, looking inside until she managed to find something of interest.
"Wait...is this a sketchpad?" thought Rebecca, noticing Quinn's name fancily written on the cover. She opened it, beginning to flick through the pages. Rebecca noticed the sketches and couldn't help but admit...they looked fantastic.
"Amazing...perhaps I can take advantage of our new 'Artistic Fox'" said Rebecca. She glanced back at the monitors, noticing Quinn still seemed rather nervous. Rebecca smiled as a realisation came to her mind.
She might finally have a marketing opportunity for the Canines that she wanted.
Now...if only she could get Quinn to cooperate.
"Meh, she'll crack...eventually," thought Rebecca, not worried in the slightest. "Then she'll be all mine" finished Rebecca, her smile wide as she glanced once more at the former teenage girl.
"I look forward to having you working with us Quinn...I know you won't let us down," said Rebecca. She then turned away, needing to return to the Office to finish her paperwork.
After all, Rebecca had bigger problems to deal with and for their future, her future, she would do anything to ensure that the future was very, very bright.
After all, the New Zoo was Rebecca's dream and she was not going down without a fight.
