Charlotte opened up the New Zoo as she prepared herself for the day. She looked around the enclosures, making sure the animals were well fed.
"Good to see the others are keeping the animals well-fed," thought Charlotte as she noticed the nearby peacock enclosure.
She looked inside as she saw the new peahen. She admired Megan and Chris showing their feathers off to each other. The colours presented a truly majestic sight to their audience of one.
"It truly is a spectacular sight," said Charlotte as she smiled, noticing the peafowl returning to the nest to check on their developing young.
"Still...why was Rebecca so uneasy last night?" thought Charlotte. Rebecca seemed really on edge recently. "Must still be calming down from the incident with the school trip" reasoned Charlotte, unable to imagine what the fuss was about as she left the peafowl to their own devices.
"Well...time to focus on today's addition," said Charlotte, looking over the application once more.
The applicant appeared to have short black hair, held back by a peach coloured headband. The face was clearly feminine which gave Charlotte the impression that today's applicant was a girl.
Charlotte looked further down the form. The Managers had opted to ask the applicant for their favourite animal. Today's applicant appeared to be a fan of giraffes.
"Well, I'll ensure she gets to know Jason...personally," said Charlotte, smiling as she was looking forward to the new addition.
"Speaking of which, I should probably check on Jason" continued Charlotte, starting to walk towards the giraffe enclosure.
Within the Giraffe Enclosure:
Currently, Jason was munching on some leaves from one of the tall trees within his enclosure. He minded his own business as a green glow seemed to be keeping itself hidden.
The green glow flickered as it seemed to focus on Jason. This got his attention as he stared at it. However, he was not able to fully comprehend what was happening as the flickering intensified.
As the flickering flashed across Jason's eyes his head began to feel strange. He could feel memories of a previous life he felt was his beginning to return. He began to feel confused as he remembered his past as a giraffe before coming to the zoo. His eyes began to regain a familiar shade of blue as he felt unable to tell what was real anymore.
"Wha...what?, where am I?" thought Jason, a small thought crossing his mind. He looked around, trying to make sense of his situation. The disorientation and vertigo were significant as Jason couldn't help but feel confused.
Unfortunately, Jason couldn't concentrate on these memories as he felt his giraffe instincts begin to emerge which caused him to turn back to the trees and munch on the delicious leaves within. His eyes darkened as he did so, indicating that his human memories had faded once more.
The Inspection Occurs:
Charlotte walked down towards the giraffe enclosure and looked inside. She noticed Jason munching on leaves from one of the tall trees in the enclosure.
"Appears normal" mumbled Charlotte, holding her hand up in the air.
"Time for the inspection to begin" thought Charlotte as a soft glow came from her hand.
She waved it around the enclosure, smiling Charlotte felt a sudden spike as she withdrew her hand, holding her arm as she tried to soothe the shock she was feeling. She lost feeling in her arm temporarily as she looked down.
"My arm...what's happened to my arm?" questioned Charlotte worriedly.
However, Charlotte wasn't the only one affected by the spike. Jason could feel a sudden thought enter his head. He stopped munching on the leaves and stared at Charlotte. He felt anger at the woman inspecting him as he felt that she was responsible.
However, before he could do anything about it, the spike faded as Jason's human mind faded. He returned to munching leaves as Charlotte tried to comprehend what just happened. For a moment, it seemed like...Jason knew who she was. She quickly pushed the thought from her mind, investigating the spike was a much greater priority.
"What was that?" said Charlotte, her tone confused as she held her hand up once more. She moved it around, trying to repeat the error.
After several inspections came back with no unusual behaviour, she shrugged. "Guess it was just a magical spike, they happen" concluded Charlotte as she nodded.
"The enclosure seems ready to go," said Charlotte as she began to walk away, leaving Jason to his own devices. She needed to prepare for the applicant who was to enter the zoo later this afternoon.
Later That Afternoon:
Erica wandered under the arches of the New Zoo. She was curious regarding the recent disappearance of people in her class but also fascinated to have this opportunity to work at the zoo. She had noticed the disappearance of Caitlyn, Anna, Anastasia, Steven and her best friend Megan.
Erica was rather tall for her age as she looked around. She had decided on short black hair as she had grown frustrated with it always getting in her face. She still liked to wear her peach coloured hairband, having owned it since childhood.
"I still think it suits me," thought Erica as she smiled, walking down the Main Hallway as she eyed the various enclosures.
Her brown jacket covered her upper body, hiding a yellow t-shirt underneath. Her dark brown bag contained her camera and other tools which would benefit her investigation. Her dark blue jeans and black shoes moved slightly as she walked down the Main Hallway.
"I wonder what happened to them. It's not like Caitlyn to suddenly disappear" mumbled Erica as she looked around. "I just hope Travis gets better" continued Erica as she felt some sympathy for her classmate.
"It's nice to see them love each other so much," thought Erica, smiling softly. "I just wish I could have something like that" continued Erica, reflecting on her lack of a love life.
"Perhaps I need to be more honest with who I am...like Zoe" admitted Erica as she pushed the thought from her mind, shifting her focus to her upcoming interview.
She had interned at this zoo in hope that she could find something. Anything which could help her find out what had happened. She was a member of the newspaper club at her school; with ambitions of going into journalism, she thought this could be a good stepping stone to that career path.
"However, this seems like a good job for the meantime...as long as they don't make me work with hedgehogs," thought Erica, feeling a sudden sense of unease. Her eyes widened momentarily as she regained her composure, breathing heavily in an attempt to calm herself. She had a phobia of the creatures for as long as she could remember. She had long since forgotten the reason why as she found herself outside the giraffe enclosure.
"Now this is my kind of place," said Erica as her eyes widened. Erica loved giraffes, she was very passionate about the animals and therefore decided it would be the perfect cover while she worked on her investigation. She took in the sights as she admired the giraffe which she saw as majestic. Her smile widened in excitement as she noticed the giraffe had stopped feeding. It then looked at her intently as if it was studying her.
"This...this is so awesome!" thought Erica excitedly as she continued to watch the giraffe. She was concentrating so much that she failed to notice Charlotte approaching her.
"Hello Erica, my name's Charlotte" began Charlotte, introducing herself as she offered Erica a handshake. "I take it you're here for the interview?" asked Charlotte.
"Yes, thank you for considering me" replied Erica, returning the handshake as the pair stared at each other.
"Ok, I noticed that you put 'giraffe' as your favourite animal on your application," said Charlotte. Erica kept her composure as Charlotte continued "Therefore, you'll be working with our lovely Giraffe Jason here."
As Charlotte said this, Erica almost jumped for joy but held it in, attempting to maintain professionalism in front of who could be her future boss.
"I'm guessing that won't be a problem" teased Charlotte, noticing Erica trying to hold in her excitement. Charlotte was also holding in excitement although for different reasons.
"No, I would be honoured to work here," said Erica politely as Charlotte nodded. Charlotte then began to walk away, motioning for Erica to follow her who complied. As they arrived at the door into the enclosure Charlotte turned back towards Erica.
"I'm going to need the bag," said Charlotte, holding her hand out as Erica's expression changed slightly.
"Guess I have little choice if I want to maintain my cover," thought Erica as she reluctantly handed the bag over.
"She's hiding something," thought Charlotte, eyeing Erica with suspicion for a second as she took the bag from Erica. Charlotte then opened the door, allowing Erica to enter. A small green spark occurred within the enclosure as she did so.
As Erica entered the enclosure, Charlotte opened Erica's bag and found the camera and notes that Erica had made. Her expression became more and more uneasy as she looked through. It appeared as if Erica had entertained the possibility of the missing people being transformed into animals.
"So...she figured it out?" thought Charlotte, suppressing the sudden nervousness she felt. "No matter, she won't be leaving anyway" finished Charlotte as she closed the door, trapping the girl within.
Erica looked around the enclosure, not noticing Charlotte closing the door. She looked around noticing the tall trees from which the giraffe which she had informed was called Jason was feeding. She noticed the small lake where running water could be heard. The heat from the open-air rooftop caused her to feel uncomfortably warm in her jacket.
"Kinda wish I took it off now," thought Erica as she looked around. She easily noticed Jason as she walked towards him. Jason seemed rather calm as he lowered his head towards her. Erica was rather curious about this development. However, her passion and intrigue won out as she placed her hand against his muzzle.
"Hey, buddy" started Erica, stroking Jason. He seemed to be responding positively to the motion. She continued to do so, smiling widely as she felt this was the beginning of a beautiful partnership.
Little did Erica know, she was far more accurate than she realised!
"It's nice to see you two are getting along so well," said Charlotte as Erica turned to look at her. "I think I'll keep you in there so you can continue to enjoy each other's company" continued Charlotte.
"Nice joke" replied Erica, failing to hide the snark in her voice. "Can you let me out now so we can discuss this further?" asked Erica.
"Why would I do that when you're about to get to work?" said Charlotte.
"What do you mean?" replied Erica, feeling a sense of unease coming across her being.
As Charlotte tutted at her, Erica became increasingly annoyed with her.
"Answer me!" shouted Erica.
"Well...as you know we've been hiring your classmates for jobs here" began Charlotte, noticing Erica's expression become fearful. "We've just been hiring them for the positions of animals rather than staff" finished Charlotte as Erica couldn't hold back her nervousness as she realised what was about to happen.
As much as Erica loved giraffes, she didn't want to be one!
"Let me out!" shouted Erica, heading towards the door she came in. To her horror, she discovered it was locked as Charlotte laughed.
"You can't escape Erica, just allow it to happen," said Charlotte, her smug grin causing Erica's blood to boil. "At least you can transform knowing you were right" finished Charlotte as she knew the inevitable would be happening soon.
Erica watched as Charlotte walked away from the enclosure.
"Hey, get back here!" shouted Erica, once again trying to force the door she came through to open. Erica failed miserably as she began to feel a tingling occurring within.
"Wait...is this actually happening?" thought Erica, looking down as her feet began to feel cramped.
Unknown to her, Charlotte hadn't left entirely, just far away enough so Erica couldn't see her.
"Now to wait" thought Charlotte as she smiled in amusement at Erica's efforts to escape. Charlotte knew they were futile and soon...they would have a new giraffe for the Zoo.
Soon, Erica had given up trying to pry the door open as she looked around, quickly trying to find another way out.
"Ok, how do I get out of here?" mumbled Erica, panic developing internally as the tingling had become more intense. She looked upwards, seeing the open-air rooftop. This guided her vision to the nearby wall surrounding the enclosure as she got an idea.
It seemed crazy...but it just might work.
"Might as well try it," said Erica. She moved towards Jason, trying to get his attention as he turned to face her.
"Jason...you need...to...help me," said Erica, her tone fearful. Erica could feel the tingling worsening as she began to feel rather uncomfortable. Her resistance was waning as the changes were attempting to force themselves on her.
Jason continued to stare at the girl, his mind was blank for a moment. Then a sudden green flicker occurred.
"Wait...who's this?" thought Jason, surprised at his temporary awareness as he looked back at the girl. He could feel the mental changes trying to force themselves back in control. He shook his head as he felt conflicted.
Erica barely had time to dodge Jason's neck. "Please Jason...you're my only hope" begged Erica, motioning towards the open top of the enclosure.
"I...I must...help her" thought Jason, the mental changes beginning to take control once more as he struggled against them.
"Wait...what is he doing?!" thought Charlotte, beginning to panic as she saw Jason lowering his neck. Erica scrambled onto Jason as he moved towards the large wall surrounding the enclosure.
"This...this isn't possible!" continued Charlotte, panic overtaking her mind as she considered what to do. "What can I do?" wondered Charlotte, wishing that Elizabeth was here for once. She always seemed to have control of Jason for reasons she didn't quite understand.
Jason stretched until he was looking over the wall, unable to stretch any further.
"Thank you, Jason, I'll never forget this," said Erica, preparing to jump towards the wall.
However, before she could do so, the tingling came back with full intensity. Erica had difficulty keeping her balance as her legs felt weak. She struggled to stand until she finally lost balance. Erica fell back into the enclosure as she felt a throbbing in her ankle. It felt sprained, ensuring she wouldn't be going anywhere anytime soon.
"Damn it!" cursed Erica, the tingling not ceasing this time as she found herself barely able to move, let alone stand. The sudden noise caused Jason to move, fortunately not hitting Erica as he eyed the girl intently.
Charlotte saw that Erica had fallen back into the enclosure. She felt herself beginning to calm. Her shocked expression soon changed into a smile as she realised Erica's transformation was now inevitable.
"I hope you enjoy your new accommodations," thought Charlotte. She began to walk back towards the enclosure, looking forward to watching her escort change.
"Agh, why does falling have to hurt so much?" moaned Erica as the strange sensation began to spread all over her body.
"What's...what's going on?" thought Erica. She felt her stomach strain as she clutched her body in pain. She fell to her side, feeling her stomach split up into four components. She began to feel something heading back up her gullet as she started to chew on something strange.
"Is this...is this cud?" mumbled Erica, quickly realising she was turning into a giraffe. She continued to chew on the cud, calming herself considerably. Eventually, she swallowed it, feeling it travel back down her neck which tingled as the cud continued to travel back down to her new stomachs.
She began to feel a sense of vertigo as she felt a strange sensation around her neck. It stretched longer and longer as it almost coiled along the ground. Erica felt disoriented as her perspective continued to shift.
"Aghh, this fucking hurts!" cursed Erica as she could feel every developing vertebra in her neck stretching. She managed to catch a glimpse of Jason who was staring intently at her.
"Don't worry Jason" mumbled Erica reassuringly. She tried to calm herself as she gave a small smile. "We can look after each other" finished Erica as she could feel other changes coming over her.
"Good...she's not getting away" mused Charlotte, content in that they would soon have a new giraffe for the Zoo.
Unknown to Charlotte, Erica was becoming increasingly content with this development.
"I guess my missing friends are other animals within the zoo," thought Erica, chuckling slightly as she realised one of her joke theories was correct. "I suppose I should be grateful that I'm becoming my favourite animal" mused Erica as the sensations continued to spread over her. She could feel them focusing around her head.
"I guess I'll be helping in...repopulation" mumbled Erica. She was significantly less comfortable about this fact and pushed it out of her mind for the time being. The sensation which had now intensified around her head had become impossible to ignore.
Erica could feel something pushing out from her head. She clutched her head as she screamed in pain which became a giraffe bellow mid-scream.
"What?...no, I...did I just bellow?" thought Erica. Despite knowing what was happening to her, it didn't make it any easier to feel herself changing. She continued to clutch her head, wishing that the headache would subside.
Erica felt her head about to split open as she pushed out new ossicones which made her feel disoriented momentarily before recovering herself. They lengthened, becoming an appropriate length for her soon to be new species.
"Ok, so my ossicones have grown" mused Erica, chuckling internally as her knowledge of giraffes was still serving her well. "I guess I'll be the resident expert on them after this" continued Erica, trying to find a silver lining to her predicament.
It was then Erica felt a compulsion in her mind to stand up. Before she could question it, Erica tried to stand up. As she did, she felt a great increase in the bulk around her body and she began to feel bloated. Her clothes stretched, as she bulked up, quickly reaching their limits before snapping, leaving a pile on the floor of the enclosure. Her body continued to bulk considerably, becoming larger and larger, changing her to become more proportional to her new species.
"This...this feels weird" mumbled Erica, feeling something trying to force its way out. However, she was too distracted as she could feel new muscles developing and old muscles altering, changing her proportions and making it difficult to stand as she proceeded to lay down. She instinctively moved her arms and legs which still had hands and feet underneath her.
"Wait... could I be becoming a giraffe mentally?" questioned Erica, feeling the budding emergence of giraffe instincts entering her head. She was quickly distracted by the tingling in her chest as Erica successfully angled her head enough to see.
Erica watched her breasts shrink and move down, nesting between her rear legs, forming teats.
"Teats?...for my young?" thought Erica, still forcing the fact out of her mind as she felt disgusted at the concept of mating. Despite this, her vagina moved up, changing and expanding, becoming a proper size for a giraffe. It settled underneath her anus towards her rear. She hadn't yet grown her tail. However, the gap above her anus and vagina gave Erica an idea of where it would soon start growing.
"I guess my tail's next?" thought Erica, surprised as she began to feel a tingling in her hands and feet. She realised they hadn't yet transformed into hooves.
"It..it oddly tickles" mumbled Erica, finding herself unable to resist giggling. She then felt a sudden cramp in her fingers and toes as they moved closer together and despite her best efforts, she found herself unable to move them. This was before she felt them painfully crunch together.
"Ow, Ow, Ow!" shouted Erica, unable to hold back the bellow which had been developing within her as her hands crunched together, beginning to form a single limb on each hand and foot. The pain soon subsided as her nerves flared up and dissolved as thick chunks of nail spread over her hands and feet as her new hooves formed. She scrambled around as she tried to stand up, only regaining her balance when planting herself on all fours, allowing her to balance properly and hold her weight up. She felt her back-shift and click, locking her onto all fours.
"Guess I'm not bipedal anymore," thought Erica, feeling rather fed up as she was hoping the changes would just finish already. She looked around, noticing Jason hadn't stopped staring at her. He began to move closer towards her, seemingly focused on something.
Upon closer inspection, Erica could tell she was slightly smaller than Jason as she noticed that he seemed eager. A feeling of arousal at her rear informed Erica that her developing instincts were also becoming increasingly eager.
"I know what he wants" thought Erica, feeling rather uncomfortable at the implications. Erica began to feel thoughts of arousal cross her mind. She shook her head as she bellowed out to Jason. Jason seemed to understand, backing away as Erica continued to change.
"Is..is she embracing the changes?" wondered Charlotte as she took on a sceptical expression. "I remember Rebecca telling me about Caitlyn but...it's still fascinating to watch...especially after all the others resisting," said Charlotte. She glanced into the enclosure, curious as to what this would result in, eager to see the results for herself.
"How's my new giraffe doing?" said Charlotte, smiling widely as she noticed Erica turn her head to face Charlotte.
Erica wanted to tell Charlotte to 'fuck off' but all that came out of her mouth was a loud bellow. Charlotte couldn't help but laugh at Erica's expense as she felt a tingling in her rear.
Erica looked at her body and felt pressure forming at her rear. She knew that she was growing a tail that pushed out, covering her new anus and vagina. She managed to gain some control of the tail and used it to cover her vagina, preserving what little dignity she had left.
"Why do you care about dignity? you're soon going to be truly an animal anyway" said Charlotte as Erica bellowed back at Charlotte. Charlotte frowned for a brief moment as she glared at the developing giraffe.
"Don't tell me you haven't noticed your arousal with Jason?" said Charlotte as Erica refused to answer. However, her body language gave Charlotte all the information she needed. "I suppose you're looking forward to mating with Jason there?" asked Charlotte, pointing towards Jason to reinforce her point.
Erica only bellowed angrily in response.
"No matter...if it helps at all, thinking of it like conserving your favourite species" finished Charlotte. She stood back, content to watch the rest of Erica's changes.
"She certainly doesn't seem to be fully embracing them but...she almost seems like she's accepted that this is happening to her" thought Charlotte. She was intrigued regarding what the result would be. She watched Erica begin to experiment with her new limbs, waiting patiently.
"This...this feels really weird," thought Erica as she felt her new instincts developing within her mind. She had already managed to get her tail under her complete control, fully responding to her thoughts. Standing on all fours felt natural as well as Erica placed one hoof in front of the other. She took her first steps in her new form as Charlotte watched.
"She's losing to her instincts...perhaps I was wrong about her embracing the changes" wondered Charlotte internally. She got out her checklist, ticking off her new addition. As she returned her attention to the enclosure, she noticed that Erica was staring directly at her. Charlotte stared down the developing giraffe, curious as to how she would react.
Before Erica could bellow in anger at Charlotte, she felt itchy. Slowly, she noticed white fur beginning to cover her body, the occasional brown spot being among them. Her hair fell out as the fur pushed out from under it, causing the hair to come loose and fall to the ground. Her headband fell loose as well, touching the ground.
"I guess that's it...I'm becoming an animal" thought Erica, feeling acceptance washing over her. Seeing her cherished headband on the floor seemed like the final nail in the coffin for Erica's attempts at holding onto her humanity.
Jason looked at the developing giraffe as his arousal continued to increase. His instincts couldn't be held back any longer as he prepared himself to do the deed, his cock coming loose from its sheath. There was a little thought in his mind, telling him this was wrong but this thought was suppressed by his animal instincts which took dominance, feeling the need to mate.
At this point, from the face down, Erica was a female giraffe. She noticed Jason moving towards her as she saw his cock. It had come out of its sheath and he was ready to have his mate.
"If I knew today was going to end like this...I would have stayed in bed" snarked Erica internally. She was feeling incredibly uncomfortable at what she knew was about to happen. Despite her discomfort, Erica moved into position, unable to resist her developing instincts while Jason mounted her, unable to resist his instincts.
Erica didn't have much time to think before Jason entered her. With every thrust, Erica's face began to stretch out. Her teeth changed, becoming more blocky and suitable for her new diet of plants. Her tongue changed, growing longer and changing colour which would also assist in her new diet. She felt fur beginning to spread over her face like the rest of her body as her muzzle finished stretching out into a complete giraffe's face. As her face finished, any thoughts Erica had about not doing this had been pushed aside by feral enthusiasm.
"Wait...this is..." thought Jason, feeling something changing in his mind. His instincts emerged as the nagging voice telling him something wasn't right was snuffed. His eyes darkened once more as he continued to thrust into Erica with newfound enthusiasm, eagerly building to a climax.
As the pair continued to mate, Erica began to feel her thoughts give way to her new emerging instincts. Surprisingly, the animal instincts began to merge into her thoughts rather than replace them.
"At least I'm still me," thought Erica, her mind screaming with pleasure. The pair of giraffes were on the brink of a climax.
Erica bellowed out with ecstasy, Jason doing the same as he climaxed into her. The noise seemed to attract the attention of the other residents within the Zoo. Various animal noises could be heard as if to welcome the new arrival.
Erica felt uneasy as Jason dismounted. As she was coming down from the mating, she tried to focus on her memories. She 'smiled' as she could recall her friends, her school, even her parents.
"Good to know I still remember my humanity" mused Erica, feeling a scent come across her new muzzle. She noticed Jason began heading towards the tall trees and began munching on the leaves within.
"I suppose I should join him" decided Erica, not thinking of anything better to do to pass the time. She felt her new giraffe instincts pull her towards the trees. "I suppose I should let my instincts drive for a while" admitted Erica, feeling her instincts were too strong to form any meaningful resistance.
Therefore, she decided to join Jason, a sense of contentment regarding her new animal existence coming over her.
Shortly After:
Charlotte looked over the newest giraffe and noticed that she seemed content. Erica was absentmindedly munching on leaves alongside Jason.
"I don't think further action is required with Erica anymore," said Charlotte, content that the girl was now a new addition to the Zoo.
"I guess I should check the spike again," thought Charlotte. She recalled what had happened earlier on as she raised her hand. It took on a soft glow once more as she moved it across the enclosure.
"Ok, everything seems normal, '' mumbled Charlotte as she continued to examine the enclosure. She failed to see any spikes like earlier as she lowered her hand.
"Appears to be a fluke but just encase...we should probably not get any more giraffes," said Charlotte, making a note on her checklist. She looked down, noticing Erica's bag.
"Ah yes I almost forgot," thought Charlotte as she opened the brown bag. She noticed the small articles regarding the zoo, reflecting on the disappearance of all these people.
"Surprising she managed to find all this...too bad It needs to be destroyed," said Charlotte. She made a mental note to visit the onsite incinerator before leaving.
As Charlotte browsed further, one particular item caught her eye. She grabbed it from the bag and looked it over. It was a school yearbook. Charlotte looked over the pages as she noticed people that had been circled.
"So the circled people are the people who disappeared?" wondered Charlotte, recognising a boy called Max within the yearbook who was circled.
"Wait...is that Max? the adolescent zebra?" thought Charlotte, recognising the picture as she smiled, crossing him out like she had the rest. She continued to skim through, eventually locating Erica's class.
"Well, time to cross you out," said Charlotte playfully, crossing out Erica's picture. She looked at the other photos, noticing that Anna, Caitlyn, Stephen, Anastasia, Megan and Erica had all been in the same class.
"While this could be useful...we need to use caution with acquiring other students," thought Charlotte, not wishing to have a repeat of the School Trip incident.
Nevertheless, Charlotte looked at the list and couldn't help but marvel at the possibilities. She marked the page before closing the book, looking forward to new additions to the Zoo.
"But for now...I should head for the incinerator" said Charlotte, holding Erica's bag as she looked inside the enclosure.
"Play nice you two," said Charlotte mockingly as she prepared to leave. Erica refused to respond, not wanting to give Charlotte any satisfaction.
Charlotte walked away from the enclosure, content to leave Erica in the company of her new mate. Little did she realise, once she had left, a green glow emerged. It seemed to focus on the enclosure. It swirled around ominously as if it was preparing for something.
Green energy seemed to be seeping from the giraffe enclosure towards the glow. It entered the glow, it almost looked as if it was...feeding.
"Wait..what?" thought Erica, feeling a sudden sense of tiredness as she quickly laid down. She noticed Jason was also feeling it as the pair snuggled up with each other.
Erica felt a sense of comfort. Although she had failed her investigation, she still had company.
"It could be worse" was Erica's final thought as she fell asleep, wondering what tomorrow would bring.
