(This is also a long-ass chapter. So sorry not sorry!)

The sun was high in the sky as Elizabeth wandered under the stone archways into the New Zoo.

"I wonder what Rebecca's meeting is about?" thought Elizabeth, wandering into the Main Hallway. She was inwardly hoping that the copies she made for Rebecca weren't a waste of time before dismissing the thought.

After all, coming alone gave her another chance to be with the Spirit, her...best friend?

"It...it still feels odd to say that," thought Elizabeth, eyeing the bag under her arm. She smiled as she hoped the Spirit appreciated the gift that she had brought...a symbol of their developing friendship. As Elizabeth thought about her new friend, her mind couldn't help but wander back to...Charlotte.

"Speaking of which...Charlotte seemed really spooked last night" said Elizabeth, pausing as she recalled her best friend's expression. Charlotte had seemed rather terrified, not to mention how she had confined herself to her room.

"I guess that's due to the Spirit's handiwork?" thought Elizabeth, feeling uneasy in the pit of her stomach. Despite agreeing with the Spirit about it conducting revenge, seeing the results for herself was rather...unnerving.

As Elizabeth looked across the Main Hallway once more, she began to wonder where her friend, the Spirit, was. Within moments, Elizabeth could see a familiar green glow as she couldn't help but smile.

"Well...the moment awaits," thought Elizabeth, inwardly hoping that the Spirit respected the boundary Elizabeth had established.

After all, it would spoil the surprise Elizabeth had planned otherwise.

"It's a pleasure to see you Spirit" started Elizabeth, her tone warm as she noticed the glow beginning to shift, materialising into an increasingly familiar form.

Its hair was the first thing to emerge, becoming a familiar shade of turquoise as it became voluminous, curling out. A pair of eyes formed, the irises being varying shades of blue and green. A familiar light blue t-shirt with a picture of the Zoo's entrance on it formed around its upper body as the Spirit began to gain physical form. A turquoise jacket, the same shade as its hair, formed over its shirt. Finally, a pair of green shorts formed around its lower body.

"It's good to see you too, friend," said the Spirit, hoping its joyous tone would dissuade Elizabeth. After all, between its revenge against Rebecca and Charlotte, and dealing with Calamity...the Spirit had been left rather famished.

Even the new Family of Birds hadn't filled it as much as it had hoped.

"Spirit? Are you ok?" said Elizabeth, her concerned expression snapping the Spirit out of the trance it didn't realise it was in. It stared back at Elizabeth, an odd sensation emerging within as it eyed her expression.

It felt odd inside as if something inside of it snapped as it eyed Elizabeth. It was at that moment that an unfamiliar feeling came over the Spirit, its failure at getting revenge on Rebecca, Elizabeth's tormentor, coming to the forefront of its mind.

"Damn the Fates!" shouted the Spirit, turning red in an instant as its anger bubbled over. Elizabeth quickly jumped back, her eyes widening at the sudden outburst. Lashes of red energy emanated from the Spirit, causing the ground to shake

"Spirit...Spirit, what's wrong?!" called out Elizabeth, her eyes still wide with fear. Despite her fear, Elizabeth couldn't help but walk towards the Spirit.

After all, she desired to comfort her best friend.

"Stay back!" shouted the Spirit, making Elizabeth pause. The Spirit's eyes then began to cool, returning to normal as the red surrounding its form began to return to its regular shades of green, blue and turquoise.

The Spirit stared at Elizabeth, the unknown feeling within growing stronger as it clenched its fists. It turned away, unable to even look at Elizabeth.

"Just...what, what is this strange feeling?" wondered the Spirit internally, unable to make sense of its situation. It only barely managed to keep control of itself, not wishing to risk exposing Elizabeth, its best friend, to another outburst.

"Spirit?" said Elizabeth, keeping her distance as she sensed the Spirit's need for space. "What's wrong?" asked Elizabeth, concerned for her...friend?

"No... it's become far more important than that" thought Elizabeth, feeling a sense of determination as she moved closer. "Spirit? Are you alright?" reiterated Elizabeth, bending down as she glanced at the Spirit which, thankfully, was now beginning to look back at her.

The Spirit, sensing Elizabeth behind it, shook its head as it tried to bury the unfamiliar feeling within.

Why was everything feeling so complicated all of a sudden?

"I've... been doing... ok" replied the Spirit, its tone small. "I...I just failed to deal with Rebecca for you" said the Spirit, its expression almost...childlike?

"Huh?" wondered Elizabeth internally, eyeing the Spirit before her. Compared to the last few weeks, looking at it now it seemed odd...out of character. "Or perhaps, it's more complicated than I've come to expect" continued Elizabeth, shaking her head. She eyed the Spirit, making its concern her priority.

"It's ok...you'll get her next time," said Elizabeth, attempting to reassure the Spirit. She smiled as the glum expression from the Spirit seemed to be fading. "What have you done so far?" asked Elizabeth, curious as to how the Spirit had been getting even with her 'friends.'

The Spirit stared at Elizabeth, its expression slowly becoming a smile. "I've linked my mind to Charlotte's mind which will allow me to continue haunting her outside of the Zoo" explained the Spirit, turning around briefly as it collected its thoughts.

"So that's why she's so jittery all of a sudden?" thought Elizabeth, uncertain of how to feel about the Spirit's actions for a brief moment. After all, Charlotte was still her best friend...right?

A feel of the rough scarring on Elizabeth's face silenced that thought.

"I also opened Rebecca's emotional floodgates," said the Spirit, turning back to eye Elizabeth. Its expression was neutral, although a small hint of a smile could be seen. "This has caused quite the peculiar predicament for her...although I failed to follow through on it" moaned the Spirit, grumbling slightly as it looked down at itself.

"So...our revenge is a work-in-progress?" enquired Elizabeth, smiling as she eyed the Spirit once more. She noticed its bare feet, reminding her of the gift she had brought.

"On another note...I have a little surprise for you" said Elizabeth, rummaging in her bag as the Spirit eyed her curiously. It couldn't help but feel excited. As Elizabeth pulled out her gift to the Spirit, the Spirit couldn't help but look confused.

"What...what are these?" asked the Spirit, confused yet smiling at what Elizabeth had gotten.

"They're sandals" replied Elizabeth, noticing the Spirit's confusion as she decided to elaborate. "You wear them on your feet. I felt you could benefit from some footwear and I just wanted to show my appreciation for helping me for just... being my friend" said Elizabeth, feeling tears emerging which she pushed back.

The Spirit eyed the sandals for a moment longer. It could feel another unusual sensation within as it looked at Elizabeth. "Thank...thank you," said the Spirit, its tone sincere as it raised its hand, a green glow emanating from it.

Elizabeth noticed the glow concentrating around the sandals as she eyed them briefly in confusion. They vanished into thin air momentarily, appearing on the Spirit's feet. They glowed a soft brown colour, retaining their rustic charm as the Spirit's smile widened.

"They fit perfectly," said the Spirit joyously as Elizabeth smiled in turn. The pair enjoyed the tender moment, each basking in the happiness they felt.

Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end as Elizabeth stood back up. "Ok, I have some work that needs doing today alongside some new additions later on" explained Elizabeth, wandering down the Main Hallway.

The Spirit followed Elizabeth as the pair prepared themselves for the full day ahead of them.

Within the Panther Enclosure:
Currently, Jasmine was lying on the lush green grass within her enclosure. She was yowling in irritation as Derek was resting on one of the nearby rocks.

"Doesn't my mate know I have needs to be fulfilled?" growled Jasmine, agitated that she could barely move. Her stomach had only increased in size over the last few weeks as Jasmine had been finding it more and more difficult to get what she needed...what she deserved.

Which, in Jasmine's mind, was essentially more sex.

"I mean...why is Derek being so lazy?" thought Jasmine, batting her paw with futility as she shook her head. She growled once more, her lactated teats brushing against the grass once again. Jasmine couldn't help but growl irritably as her teats felt more sensitive than she was accustomed to ever since she had been transferred to the New Zoo.

"At least...this isn't the first time" purred Jasmine, feeling another contraction. She yowled with irritation, wishing her cubs were just born already. "Hopefully...I'll actually be able to keep them this time" purred Jasmine, squirming as she shifted her tail to one side.

It was time for Jasmine to give birth...and she just wished it was over already.

After all, it meant that she could soon go back to having the constant sex she craved.

At the Panther Enclosure:
It didn't take much longer for Elizabeth and the Spirit to arrive at the Panther enclosure. Elizabeth had a soft smile on her face, her thoughts focused on Charlotte...her best friend?

"I must admit...her plan for species diversification is working like a charm," thought Elizabeth, smiling as her thoughts drifted back to Charlotte.

Despite her best efforts, Elizabeth was finding it impossible to hate her best friend.

"Perhaps...perhaps this is the wrong approach," thought Elizabeth, conflicted as she glanced at the Spirit. She shook her head, concerned that the Spirit might sense her discomfort.

Especially after what it had done to Charlotte and Rebecca, Elizabeth didn't wish to provoke the Spirit's wrath upon herself.

Elizabeth, trying to get her mind off her troubles, looked inside the Panther enclosure. She eyed Jasmine, noticing Jasmine's position, and what she was doing.

"Wow...is it that time already?!" thought Elizabeth, her shock quickly being replaced with excitement. "I guess time does fly by" continued Elizabeth internally, grabbing her whistle around her neck. It took only a moment longer for her to blow on it.

"Perfect...now time to assist the happy couple," thought Elizabeth, content that Derek and Jasmine were now under her control. Before she left, however, she turned to face the Spirit. "Just got to make a little detour...I'll be back soon," said Elizabeth, quickly running away towards the back door of the Panther enclosure.

After all...who knows how long Jasmine had been having contractions?

The Spirit watched Elizabeth go. It closed its eyes for a moment, sensing the animals around the New Zoo. It smiled as its eyes opened, now voids of green and blue mixing into turquoise.

"So...hungry" moaned the Spirit, levitating as it began salivating. "Appetisers are not enough anymore...time for the main course," thought the Spirit, raising its hand as a green glow emanated from it.

Soon, the Spirit would be having the feast of a lifetime.

Within the Giraffe Enclosure:
Erica was currently munching on leaves on one of the tall trees within her enclosure. Her mind was deep in thought, her stomach rumbling as she tried to distract herself.

"I...I can't believe that Marie came here" thought Erica, continuing to feel frustrated as she ate. "Why...why couldn't they leave my best friend alone?" snorted Erica, shaking her head as she tried to ease her guilt.

"DAMN IT!" bellowed Erica, stamping her hoof into the grass. "Why...why do I even bother?" hissed Erica, noticing Jason looking at her concerned. She glared at him as she recalled what he had done to her.

What she now had growing inside of her.

"What are you looking at?!" bellowed Erica, her glare towards Jason deepening. However, her glare softened quickly as she noticed that Jason seemed rather...spaced out?

"Jason...are you alright?" hissed Erica, feeling unable to stay mad at Jason. After all, he was as much of a victim as anyone else within the New Zoo. As she felt her concern increasing, Jason tried to move forward, stumbling for a moment before collapsing.

"JASON!" bellowed Erica, beginning to feel a strange sense of fatigue coming over her. Nevertheless, she couldn't help but feel concerned for Jason as she felt a sense of adrenaline. She walked forward, stumbling as she approached her mate.

"Where did this sudden tiredness come from?" wondered Erica, barely keeping herself upright as she managed to get a good view of Jason. Fortunately, Jason had not suffered any significant injuries and appeared to be merely passed out.

"Thank goodness..." thought Erica, her tiredness getting the better of her. "Now if only...I could save...more of my...classmates" continued Erica, lowering herself down as she stayed close to Jason. Her eyes began to droop as she comforted Jason...her mate.

Within moments, Erica was asleep alongside Jason, still dreaming of ways to save her classmates.

Within the Tiger Enclosure:
Caitlyn was currently laying upon one of the craggy rocks within her enclosure as she eyed Travis seductively. She batted herself temptingly, trying to encourage her boyfriend as her tail shifted mischievously.

"Come on Travis...I know you want to" chuffed Caitlyn, looking down at her mate as she shifted onto her back.

After a few moments of nothing, Caitlyn tilted her head upwards. She noticed that Travis hadn't moved from his previous position as she got back to her paws.

"Let me guess...cat got your tongue?" chuffed Caitlyn, her playful tone trying to put Travis at ease.

"Caitlyn...I, I don't understand how you can even think about that right now" replied Travis, his tone full of concern as Caitlyn stopped briefly.

"I see...sorry, I thought that humour might be the best way to ease your worry about our predicament" chuffed Caitlyn, shaking her head as she looked directly at Travis. "Still worried about Rebecca's revelation yesterday?" asked Caitlyn, waiting patiently for Travis's response.

"Yes," replied Travis bluntly. He shook his head, his tail flailing for a moment. "How...how can you be so nonchalant about the possibility that we could die?" moaned Travis, eyeing Caitlyn who seemed to be considering her answer.

"Because I know that Becky will never allow that to happen" replied Caitlyn, noticing Travis still seemed rather uneasy. "Is this why we never had sex last night? Why you couldn't perform?" chuffed Caitlyn, tilting her head in concern.

It was obvious that Travis was stressed at the current situation but it seemed...it seemed like there was more to his feelings.

"It's not only that Caitlyn" replied Travis, beginning to feel a strange unease passing through his being. He felt oddly...tired? "Perhaps...it might be better if we convince Rebecca to make us human again?" chuffed Travis, eyeing Caitlyn whose eyes widened at what she had just heard.

"Is he...is he serious?!" thought Caitlyn, trying to make sense of what Travis had just said. She shook her head in denial, feeling anger building up inside of her.

"That's out of the question Travis" growled Caitlyn, catching Travis momentarily off guard. "I'm perfectly content being a tiger and have no interest or desire to return to being a pitiful human" continued Caitlyn, feeling an odd sense of unease. It was becoming difficult for her to see straight.

Travis, despite his increasing fatigue, stood his ground against Caitlyn.

"Surely...we both have things we miss as humans, Caitlyn" growled Travis, glaring at her despite his increasing tiredness.

"Oh yeah, name ONE!" roared Caitlyn, her eyes drifting as she was finding it difficult to see straight. Travis, despite their disagreement, couldn't help but feel concerned for Caitlyn.

"Caitlyn, are you all right?" asked Travis, eyeing Caitlyn as she passed out onto the grass within the enclosure. Travis looked around, struggling to stay coherent as he flopped down into the enclosure. He managed to nuzzle up to Caitlyn, finding some comfort as he felt the need to sleep overpowering him.

"I just...I just hope my parents are ok" was Travis's final thought as his thoughts calmed as he drifted off into a peaceful sleep.

Within the Aviary:
Megan, oblivious to what was happening around her, was reluctantly tending to her eggs. As the thought crossed her mind, she once again had to resist the urge to 'vomit.'

"I...I still can't believe this is my life now" thought Megan bitterly, shaking her head as she noticed Chris patrolling as they'd agreed upon. "I know I shouldn't but...I can't help but hate him for what he did to me" continued Megan internally, irritated as she noticed Chris approaching her.

"So...what have you found?" asked Megan, trying to keep the bile from her voice.

"The Family of Birds seemed to have settled in the lake far away from us" replied Chris, noticing Megan's glare. "Aurora's still on her own...she seems to not be...welcome with the others" continued Chris, staring at the ground to avoid Megan's consistent glare.

"Why...why do I feel tired all of a sudden?" thought Chris, a sense of fatigue coming over him as his vision began to blur.

"Well, that's a relief...for now anyway" squawked Megan, noticing Chris seemed to be spacing out on her. "Hello? Earth to Chris" continued Megan, noticing Chris trip over himself. "Fucking typical" thought Megan, scowling at Chris who now seemed to be asleep on the soft mud of the Aviary.

"You just can't get good help anymore," thought Megan, 'chuckling' to herself. However, as she looked around, she couldn't help but feel something eerie coming over her. She blinked, feeling a sense of tiredness as she glanced towards the glass wall of the Aviary.

"If only I could escape...return to mother" squawked Megan softly, the draining sensation feeling too much as her feathers shot up momentarily. Something felt very, very wrong.

"Mother...please...wait for...me," thought Megan, finally succumbing to sleep. She was still nested on top of her eggs, snoozing as she hoped for better dreams than her current reality.

Within the Panda Enclosure:
Meanwhile, within the Outside Section, Alyssa was mindlessly chewing away at another block of bamboo. As she tore another segment of bamboo from the wall, another took its place.

"This...this is really good bamboo," thought Alyssa, shovelling mouthful after mouthful into her mouth. She remained oblivious as the bamboo regenerated, growing quickly to re-cover the wall. "This is much better than my old enclosure, so much more tasty food to eat...and less to share" continued Alyssa, faint memories beginning to play out in her mind.

Alyssa recalled being transferred from a Zoo in a faraway distant land. She had been one of several females amongst the embarrassment of pandas that had occupied the former enclosure.

"Bumi always had his favourites," thought Alyssa, fuming slightly as she munched on another rod of bamboo. "I was just another runt to him...not worth his time" continued Alyssa, shaking her head as she tried to ignore the intrusive thoughts.

"At least Mei enjoyed his attention...constantly birthing more cubs than she could deal with" squeaked Alyssa, taking another munch from her bamboo. "I only wished he could pay some attention to me once in a while" continued Alyssa, her thoughts drifting back to the various cubs, her 'siblings', that had surrounded her old enclosure.

It was all a blur after that. Alyssa didn't understand why she had been placed in that crate, separated from her embarrassment. She recalled long, cold nights atop a large steel boat, being given only scraps of bamboo to sustain herself.

After what felt like forever, however, Alyssa had found herself delivered to the New Zoo. The nice Managers had provided her with this wonderful enclosure...with all the food she could possibly need.

"Still...it feels rather lonely" huffed Alyssa, chomping down on another generous helping of bamboo. It had certainly been very lonely as her only desire now, the best thing to improve her current quality of life...would be to have a mate of her own.

Which, in turn, would allow Alyssa to have her own cubs. And raise them better than Bumi ever did.

"Wait...didn't I already have a cub?" huffed Alyssa, blinking her eyes as they seemed to be becoming...clearer?

Something wasn't adding up in Alyssa's mind...something seemed to be fighting within, trying to assert dominance over the panda's mind.

Within the Red Barn:
Marie's large, conical ears swivelled as she could hear the distant noises occurring from the nearby animals within the Petting Zoo.

"Golly...what's up with the sheep today?" wondered Marie, hearing distant bleating. She 'smiled' as she recalled the little lamb and her family. She had watched them grazing within the nearby Sheep Pen as the lamb seemed to be overjoyed, always spending a lot of time with her mother.

"Just like old times," thought Marie, content to recall the past. She remembered being at the Old Zoo, enjoying the cute sheep and how nice it had been to spend time with her parents.

"My...parents?" lowed Marie softly, unsure of how to feel. The thought had kept returning to her mind, had her parents noticed she was gone? Did they even care?

"Could I...could I've made a mistake?" wondered Marie, feeling internally conflicted. "I mean...I've enjoyed being a cow, my life has definitely become less stressful but...was it worth abandoning my parents as I did?" continued Marie, her thoughts becoming distracted by her udder hanging low.

"Well...this is certainly annoying" lowed Marie, shaking her head as she felt her udder weighing down. "Guess I need to be milked again...hope someone isn't too long" continued Marie, already aware that the stall door left her confined in her new form.

Hence, Marie was left alone with her thoughts. They drifted away from her parents to that peculiar Spirit she had encountered.

"Still, that Spirit has been useful in helping me adapt," thought Marie, munching on some of the animal feed within her trough. She had noticed the Spirit had been observing her, although she had chosen not to comment on it.

Whatever the Spirit was doing was clearly not malicious...otherwise, Marie would've found out by now.

This caused the only thought on Marie's mind to remain...was that of her parents. And despite their overprotectiveness, Marie couldn't bring herself to hate them.

"I still hope my parents are fine...wherever they are" thought Marie, absentmindedly chewing her cud. She only hoped that someone tended to her udder sooner rather than later.

Birthing the Cubs:
Elizabeth, oblivious that the Spirit was currently feeding, had entered the Panther enclosure. She approached Jasmine, noticing she seemed to be struggling. Jasmine yowled once more, Elizabeth continuing her approach as she blew her whistle once more.

"Come on lazy bones," said Elizabeth, her attention briefly directed towards Derek. "You'd think you would want to witness the birth of your own cubs" continued Elizabeth, noticing Derek getting up from the rock he had been laid on.

"But not too close" warned Elizabeth, now content to assist Jasmine with her cubs. She moved closer towards Jasmine's rear, struggling to hold her excitement.

"Have to keep calm" thought Elizabeth, coming down towards Jasmine's rear as Jasmine pushed once more, yowling at the discomfort. "It's ok Jasmine, it's almost over," said Elizabeth, reassuring the shepanther as she stroked her back.

Jasmine, despite the affection, panted with discomfort as she pushed once again. She roared in discomfort, feeling her energy dropping. She managed to get a small glimpse at Derek, noticing he seemed rather sluggish.

"So...this is what a complicated birth feels like?" thought Jasmine, her memories drifting to her previous cubs...how they'd been taken away from her. However, she shook her head, determined to deliver her cubs as she pushed once more, roaring as the discomfort was becoming overwhelming.

"Great work Jasmine...almost there," said Elizabeth encouragingly. She stroked Jasmine's back once again, noticing Jasmine's offspring becoming more and more visible.

"Wait...is that another cub?" wondered Elizabeth, her eyes widening as she noticed what appeared to be another cube emerging. "So...she's carrying twins?" mumbled Elizabeth, letting the words hang for a moment before returning to Jasmine's aid.

"Ah, this really, really hurts" yowled Jasmine, panting strongly despite her increasing fatigue. She felt determined to deliver her cubs, finally having some she might be able to keep.

"Jasmine...are, are you alright?" enquired Elizabeth, stroking Jasmine's back once more. Something felt wrong. Elizabeth took a quick glance at Derek, noticing he had lied down once again. He seemed rather tired, spaced out as Elizabeth felt concerned.

"Just what the hell is going on?" wondered Elizabeth, struggling to make sense of the situation. Regardless, she shook her head, returning her attention to Jasmine as Jasmine pushed once again, yowling in protest.

"It's ok Jasmine...it'll be ok," said Elizabeth, trying to reassure herself.

Fortunately, with one final push, Jasmine welcomed two adorable little cubs into the world. They paced around absentmindedly, their eyes closed as Jasmine was panting strongly. Her teats were swollen with milk as she felt powerless to watch Elizabeth grab one of her cubs.

"No...please don't take them from me," thought Jasmine, waving a paw with futility. She felt tired and drained as she could only watch Elizabeth seemingly admiring one of her cubs.

"Oh, you're just so adorable," said Elizabeth, her smile wide as she stroked the cub's head softly. She had to resist the urge to cuddle the cub which, upon closer inspection, was revealed to be a female.

"Now...what to name you?" wondered Elizabeth, her thoughts drifting. She stared back towards Jasmine, staring at her pitifully. Elizabeth recalled Charlotte showing her Jasmine's profile...who had been revealed to have quite the sketchy past.

"That's perfect," thought Elizabeth, staring at the cub in her hands. "I'll call you Luna," said Elizabeth, stroking the cub's head once more. She then eyed the other cub, noticing them stumbling around.

"Ok Luna, let's bring you to your mother" stated Elizabeth, bringing the cub to her mother's teats. Luna quickly got to work, drinking her mother's milk as Jasmine's eyes widened slightly.

"She's...she's letting me keep my cubs?" thought Jasmine, feeling oddly euphoric. She eyed Elizabeth who was currently holding her other cub as she forced herself to stay awake.

"Hmph...a male this time," said Elizabeth, eyeing the other cub as she tried to think of a name. She smiled as she recalled her own past and the various kid's movies she enjoyed, and still enjoyed.

"I know...how about Bagheera?" said Elizabeth, noticing the cub in her hands seemed to nod in approval. "I knew you'd like it" continued Elizabeth, smiling as she brought Bagheera to join his sister Luna at his mother's teats.

Like Luna, Bagheera immediately gripped one as he began to suckle. Warm milk began to fill his stomach as he felt a warmth come over him. He felt rather sleepy as he began to drift off alongside his sibling and mother.

As Elizabeth stood up, she turned back to admire the scene. She noticed the family seemed rather tired...too tired. What had happened during the birth? Has the Spirit been up to something?

"Perhaps I should bring this up...see how it reacts" wondered Elizabeth, concerned about what could happen in the future. After all, ideally, this would not be the first time that she'd be delivering animal offspring.

"Still...I feel it is best to leave the new family to themselves for now" mumbled Elizabeth, heading to the exit of the Panther enclosure. She turned back one last time, enjoying the scene before her.

They truly did make a happy family.

The Search Continues:
The waves of green energy pulsating towards the Spirit began to fade as it lowered itself gently towards the ground. The turquoise voids within its eyes faded as the regular mixture of blue and green returned.

"That was...divine," thought the Spirit, licking its lips with glee. Its smile widened, patting its stomach as the starvation it had endured finally ceased. The Spirit felt content in its gluttony, sensing the animals around it...realising how much energy it had drained from them.

"Although...it seems as if the animals can't keep up," said the Spirit, pouting in annoyance. "Guess, my search continues..." continued the Spirit, agitated that its quest for a sustainable energy source...was still ongoing.

"What search would that be?" asked Elizabeth, causing the Spirit's eyes to widen in realisation. It turned around, noticing Elizabeth standing there with a curious glance.

It seemed, in its haste to celebrate, the Spirit had lost track of Elizabeth's whereabouts.

"Um...um," said the Spirit out loud, trying to find the correct words. It noticed Elizabeth crossing her arms, her curious glance turning into a glare.

"This search...it wouldn't have anything to do with the animals...would it?" asked Elizabeth, her tone indicating her demand for an answer. "More specifically...why Jasmine seemed to have complications giving birth just now?" continued Elizabeth, her anger growing as she stared the Spirit down.

"Wait...that's what she was doing?!" thought the Spirit, a sense of panic coming over it. It noticed Elizabeth's angry expression only worsening as it looked down towards the floor. "I...I didn't know you were helping deliver offspring" replied the Spirit weakly, a strange feeling coming over it once more.

The same feeling from earlier that morning.

"What...what were you even doing?" asked Elizabeth, confusion mixing in with her anger.

"Feeding" replied the Spirit, still looking down towards the floor. It felt unable to even look at Elizabeth, whatever feeling that had gripped it was tightening like a vice.

"This wasn't feeding" replied Elizabeth, looking around as she noticed some of the passed-out animals nearby. "This was just being greedy" continued Elizabeth, struggling to hold her composure.

"I need the energy to survive, to sustain myself...to be able to protect you" argued the Spirit, struggling to hold back its anger.

"So the animals don't matter to you? Are they only meal tickets for you?!" replied Elizabeth, her voice becoming louder.

"Yes...what else would they be?" replied the Spirit, beginning to glow red once more. "The animals are little more than food to sustain myself" continued the Spirit, struggling to hold back its frustration. "I'm doing this to protect you...to have enough energy to protect you" argued the Spirit, confused as to why Elizabeth was reacting in this way.

"So what happens when you drain too much?" asked Elizabeth, her voice cold as the Spirit was taken aback.

All the anger the Spirit was feeling dropped like a lead balloon. The only thing remaining was the same strange feeling from earlier that morning.

"What...what do you mean?" asked the Spirit, now confused as it stared at Elizabeth.

"I mean...by your own logic, you need to feed on the energy of the animals to sustain yourself" explained Elizabeth, unable to hold back her cold tone. "What happens if you drain too much...what happens if the animals die because of your feeding?" asked Elizabeth, struggling to hold her composure as she eyed the Spirit.

"That would never happen," said the Spirit pitifully, trying to think of a good defence.

"Well, I feel today...was pretty fucking close!" shouted Elizabeth, glaring directly at the Spirit. "Rebecca's safeguards can only be effective to a point" continued Elizabeth, not lowering her voice. "If the animals die as a result of your inability to feed in moderation, where are you going to get your energy from?" finished Elizabeth, letting the question hang in the air.

The Spirit thought for a moment, then another moment. However, it was coming up blank towards any kind of response to Elizabeth's questions. The strange feeling within it had continued to grow, becoming impossible to ignore anymore.

"I'm...I'm sorry" apologised the Spirit, hanging its head low. As Elizabeth stared at it, she realised what she had just done...and how lucky she was to be alive right now.

"Now...if you don't mind, I have work to do in the Security Room," said Elizabeth bluntly, walking away from the Spirit.

The Spirit watched Elizabeth leaving. It looked down at its feet, noticing the new sandals adorning them. It shook its head, feeling unable to stay mad at Elizabeth.

After a moment of consideration, the Spirit decided to follow Elizabeth. Despite the unfamiliar feeling within, it felt a need to protect Elizabeth.

A need to protect its best friend.

Arriving at the Reptile House:
"I can't believe the nerve!" fumed Elizabeth, slamming the door to the Reptile House as she entered. "How can the Spirit see the animals as little more than meals?" continued Elizabeth, unable to hold her frustration as she stormed down towards the Security Room.

As Elizabeth progressed further into the Reptile House, she failed to notice the Spirit nearby. It kept itself well hidden, not desiring to draw attention to itself as it kept watch over its best friend.

Elizabeth stopped momentarily outside the Crocodile enclosure. She gazed inside it, curious as she tried to find the resident within.

"Where is she?" wondered Elizabeth, her mind wandering as she continued to search. "I mean, how did she get so aggressive anyway...so hateful?" continued Elizabeth internally, banging her hand against the railing.

Elizabeth continued to search for Anastasia, getting increasingly frustrated by her lack of success. She failed to notice Anastasia hiding just below the surface of the swamp water, paddling towards Elizabeth with malicious intent.

"It's annoying that the footage was erased...would be curious to see how to make more," thought Elizabeth, recalling her original plan to teach Rebecca a lesson...and how she might now need to return to that plan.

It was at that moment that Anastasia quickly snapped up towards Elizabeth, intending on dragging Elizabeth into her enclosure. Elizabeth's eyes widened in panic, fearful that her curiosity was about to cost her her life.

Fortunately, something pulled her back in the nick of time.

"Leave my friend alone," said the Spirit firmly, the quietness of its voice doing little to hide the vast amount of fury behind it.

Surprisingly, Anastasia backed off. She bellowed in annoyance, irritated at having missed out on a meal. She then began to head deeper into her enclosure, entering one of the rivers as she slunk out of sight.

The Spirit glared back towards the retreating reptile. It made a note in its head to return the favour at some point. There was no chance that Anastasia would be let off for what she just pulled.

The Spirit shook its head, diverting its attention to Elizabeth. She was breathing heavily following her near-fatal experience. She tried to calm herself, and keep her composure as she looked up towards her saviour.

It was the Spirit, her best friend.

"You saved me...thank you," said Elizabeth softly, still struggling to make sense of the situation. She looked back towards the enclosure, fearful yet confused as to what could've caused Anastasia to act in such a manner.

"She doesn't remember who she is" informed the Spirit, noticing Elizabeth turning to face her.

"What?" replied Elizabeth, confused about how the Spirit had known to ask that question. "Did you...did you just read my mind?" asked Elizabeth, still in a state of shock following the event.

"No, I just figured it would be reassuring for you to know" replied the Spirit, eyeing Elizabeth concerningly. "I sensed her thoughts, there's no human clarity within...only animal instinct" continued the Spirit, noticing Elizabeth seemed to be regaining her composure.

"What did you sense from Anastasia?" asked Elizabeth, curiosity taking over her previous shock.

"Hatred...strong, powerful hatred" replied the Spirit, struggling to not glare back towards Anastasia.

After all, the Spirit would have plenty of time to deal with her later.

"Hatred?" wondered Elizabeth, finding herself deep in thought at this revelation. "So...she doesn't have her memories but she's not docile either?" continued Elizabeth, wondering how the end result could be so...unusual? "Let me guess, Rebecca's lying to us about not knowing the cause?" finished Elizabeth, finding herself angry as she couldn't help but feel that Rebecca had engineered this trap.

It baffled Elizabeth that after everything that Rebecca had put her through, she still found lower depths to sink to.

"Ok...what now?" asked the Spirit, sensing Elizabeth's anger and trying to de-escalate whatever was bothering her.

"Let's continue towards the Security Room" replied Elizabeth, walking away as the Spirit followed.

As they walked, Elizabeth looked back at the Spirit. She couldn't help but feel a little guilty for her outburst earlier on regardless of whether it was justified. It was then Elizabeth decided that the Spirit deserved to know why Elizabeth was as angry as she was.

After all, it might do Elizabeth some good to confess to what was bothering her.

Within the Security Room:
Elizabeth approached the chair in the Security Room and promptly sat down. She eased into the comfortable material, taking a moment to breathe after the rather eventful events of the morning.

Although, as Elizabeth thought about it more, the fact that she almost died made describing the events as ' rather eventful' quite the understatement.

"Elizabeth? You ok?" asked the Spirit, its tone concerned as it eyed its friend. It could tell that Elizabeth was still taking in what had almost happened. After all, it was written all over her face.

"I...I almost died today" said Elizabeth simply, lying back in the relatively large chair. "I...I just can't believe she'd pull something like that...Rebecca, I mean" continued Elizabeth, gritting her teeth as she could feel anger building within her.

As she glanced at the Spirit, however, Elizabeth forced herself to calm, her rage simmering down. It became cold, festering within her like a parasite as she glanced towards the Spirit.

"Spirit?" said Elizabeth, her icy glance putting the Spirit on edge.

"Yes?" asked the Spirit, feeling uncertain about the mental state of its best friend.

"When you see Rebecca again...show her no mercy" replied Elizabeth, her venomous tone briefly catching the Spirit off guard. However, it quickly regained its composure, nodding in agreement as the pair turned towards the stack of CCTV monitors which adorned the front wall.

"Ok, it's time to do some investigating of my own" stated Elizabeth, pressing a red button on the console. Upon contact, the monitors flickered, cameras focusing on one enclosure in particular.

As the monitors regained focus, it was obvious that they were now focused on the Outside Section of the New Zoo. More specifically, they were focused on the Panda enclosure.

"To be honest...the cage feels rather excessive," thought Elizabeth, annoyance creeping into her mind. "What was so special about this panda anyway...outside of Alyssa having magic?" continued Elizabeth, her mind puzzled at why Rebecca had gone to such lengths.

The Spirit noticed Elizabeth's expression and tilted its head in confusion. Elizabeth snapped out of her thoughts as she eyed the Spirit, deciding to explain her thoughts.

"This panda was formerly a human named Alyssa" explained Elizabeth, noticing the Spirit listening in. "We've been observing her due to her having magic before her transformation" continued Elizabeth, pressing the red button once more as the cameras focused further, now giving Elizabeth a display of the inside of the enclosure.

"So...has she acted out at all?" asked the Spirit curiously, eyeing Alyssa on the monitors as she ripped off another chunk of bamboo from the wall surrounding her enclosure. As Alyssa munched on her food, the Spirit noticed bamboo regrowing to fill the gap that had been created.

"No...but it still concerns me...especially as my experience with pandas has always proven to be difficult" replied Elizabeth, shaking her head as she recalled her previous experience 'behind the curtain.'

The Spirit eyed Elizabeth concerningly. It knew something was bothering her. However, without reading her mind, the Spirit wouldn't know what the problem was, let alone how to assist. Nevertheless, the Spirit intended to keep its promise to Elizabeth, wondering how it could coax the answer out of Elizabeth.

"What's on your mind? Is it anything to do with what happened earlier?" asked the Spirit, eyeing Elizabeth concerningly.

Elizabeth turned towards the Spirit. She eyed its features, wondering if it entered her mind. However, she hadn't felt a strange sensation like before which meant...the Spirit had kept to her request.

"Still...I do think sharing my concerns about earlier would be useful" thought Elizabeth, smiling briefly as she shook her head.

"No...but I would like to explain my earlier reaction" replied Elizabeth, a small smile on her face as she pressed another red button on the console in front of her.

As the monitors began to focus on a new enclosure, Elizabeth began to feel her guilt rising. It seemed to be gnawing away at her, coming to the surface once again.

It had done this ever since she had condemned Lily.

"Elizabeth?" asked the Spirit, concerned as it stared at Elizabeth, its best friend.

"Sorry...just spaced out for a minute" replied Elizabeth, looking up at the monitors as they focused on the Hippo Enclosure. Elizabeth eyed Cassandra on one of the nearby monitors, noticing that her pregnant belly had expanded since she'd been transformed several weeks ago.

"Guess Lily's growing inside her still," thought Elizabeth, eying Cassandra contently. She couldn't help as tears came to her eyes as she softly wept. Her guilt surrounding Lily was overwhelming her...again.

"Elizabeth...what's wrong?" asked the Spirit, immediately moving to comfort its friend.

"I...I still can't believe I condemned an unborn child to...this" replied Elizabeth, pointing towards the monitors. The Spirit eyed the monitors, closing its eyes for a brief moment.

It felt the sensations of the Zoo flowing within it, smiling slightly as it seemed that the animals were recovering following its feeding frenzy earlier that morning. It focused on the Hippo Enclosure, sensing Cassandra and...something else within.

"Wait...she's...with child?" thought the Spirit, feeling further sensations swelling within. Cassandra wasn't the only pregnant animal within the Zoo, the Spirit felt slightly overwhelmed as it could sense all of them. Each tiny heartbeat beat in unison as the sound threatened to become deafening.

The Spirit's eyes opened as it immediately felt foolish. It could feel further regret over its short-sightedness earlier that morning as it eyed Elizabeth who was still silently weeping to herself.

"She's ok," said the Spirit, sitting atop the console within the Security Room. It looked down as Elizabeth looked up at it curiously. "Lily is ok" clarified the Spirit, noticing Elizabeth drying her eyes.

"Good" replied Elizabeth simply, eyeing the Spirit which seemed to be undergoing its own revelation. "I guess you sensed her...and the others perhaps?" asked Elizabeth.

"Yes...I did" replied the Spirit, its features softening as its eyes betrayed the usual confidence within. "I'm sorry for earlier...you were correct to think it as short-sighted" continued the Spirit, looking down towards the floor briefly. "Not to mention that the animals are more than meal tickets" finished the Spirit, a pleading expression now on its face.

"It's ok...I forgive you" replied Elizabeth, opening her arms as the Spirit levitated forward. The pair hugged, reconciling as they enjoyed the moment between themselves.

As the pair parted, unaware of how much time they had spent hugging, Elizabeth glanced towards the nearby clock. Her eyes widened slightly as she took note of the time as she gently broke the hug between her and the Spirit.

"Ok...it's time for us to prepare for the couple this afternoon" explained Elizabeth gently. She eyed the Spirit who nodded in understanding.

"What do you have in mind to add to the Zoo?" asked the Spirit, its eyes curious and full of wonder.

"Well...not sure honestly" replied Elizabeth, glancing back towards the console. She glanced at the various red buttons adorning the console, irritated that they weren't labelled. "Might as well press a random button to decide" stated Elizabeth, noticing the Spirit not losing its curious stare as she pressed one of the random red buttons.

The monitors began to flicker, shifting away from the Hippo enclosure as Elizabeth and the Spirit waited in anticipation. It actually felt exciting as they wondered what enclosure they'd be adding to.

After a few more suspenseful moments, the monitors finally focused. Elizabeth eyed the enclosure intently, trying to identify which animal was within. It was then she noticed a pair of wolves currently asleep within.

"Guess Andy and Mindy are getting some new packmates today," said Elizabeth, nodding in satisfaction as she got up from the chair. She headed towards the exit to the Security Room, motioning for the Spirit to follow her.

After all, they needed to prepare.

That Afternoon:
"It looks rather swell...doesn't it?" said Bethany, her twin blond pigtails drifting behind her. She smiled contentedly, pleased to have something resembling a silver lining as she glanced up towards the stone archways of the New Zoo.

After all, just because they were here on business didn't mean she couldn't have some fun with her boyfriend while she was at it.

"Bethany...you in there?" asked Keith, looking up at his girlfriend. Bethany turned, noticing Keith struggling to move. Her happy expression sank almost immediately, her attention focused on tending to her boyfriend.

"I still can't believe that bitch could be so irresponsible," thought Bethany, trying to hide her rage. Still, her efforts were in vain as she eyed Keith's wheelchair. She grabbed behind it, pushing it forward as Keith gave her a smile in appreciation.

"Thank you," said Keith, noticing Bethany's irritated expression. "Don't tell me you're thinking about Greta again?" asked Keith, shaking his head. "She doesn't deserve any more of our attention...just let our lawyers do their job" finished Keith, noticing Bethany's expression didn't change.

"She should be fortunate we're only suing for damages" replied Bethany, crossing her arms. She pouted, an expression that Keith honestly thought was adorable. He chuckled softly, gripping Bethany's hand in his own.

"She certainly should" replied Keith, looking down towards the floor. "Especially after what our parents were advising" continued Keith, smiling as he tried to appease his girlfriend.

Bethany stared at Keith for a moment, eyeing his warm brown eyes before shaking her head. She pushed her irritation from her mind, remembering that they had a job to do.

"Ok, let's go and see if this Zoo is worth the hype," said Bethany, her enthusiasm having returned to her. She walked under the stone archways, entering the Main Hallway as she noticed Keith not too far behind.

As Bethany looked around the Main Hallway, her eyes couldn't help but widen in childish wonder. There were so many animals and so little time as she looked towards the nearby Zebra enclosure.

"Yes, this...this will do nicely," thought Bethany as she walked closer towards the enclosure in question. She spotted the zebra family within, the small foal, in particular, walking curiously towards her.

"I must admire her determination...assuming the rumours are true," said Bethany, eying the foal's darkened blue eyes. "Especially since it appears that children aren't off limits" continued Bethany, feeling slightly conflicted about the ordeal.

Especially given the disagreements regarding leadership with her 'employer'.

"No...remember the mission," thought Bethany, trying to bury her doubt as she stared at the other zebra within the enclosure. "At least...at least they seem to be treated well...above and beyond even" continued Bethany, deep in thought as she failed to notice Keith approaching her.

"Bethany?" asked Keith, eyeing his girlfriend curiously. He turned to face what Bethany was looking at, noticing the zebra family within. He couldn't help but smile for a brief moment before returning his attention to Bethany.

Bethany snapped out of her thoughts as she eyed Keith, staring up at her with a small smile. She couldn't help but blush awkwardly, fully aware that she had spaced out for the second time in a row.

"Sorry...it's just..." started Bethany, stumbling over her words.

"A lot to take in" finished Keith, eyeing Bethany lovingly. "I understand how you feel...it is a lot, especially with everything going on with us right now" continued Keith, empathy in his eyes.

"I...I just can't believe that we're still together...after all this time" said Bethany, crouching down as she pulled Keith in for a kiss. Keith responded in kind, pulling Bethany in closer as he caressed her hair. While her hair was naturally scruffy, Keith loved that about Bethany.

"She's just...perfect for me," thought Keith, admiring Bethany's bright blue which glowed like sapphires in the light.

At this, Keith's eyes widened in realisation.

"On a different note...have you heard from Aurora recently?" asked Keith, noticing Bethany's confused expression.

"Not recently...she didn't answer my previous message" replied Bethany, feeling a sense of concern coming over her. After all, they were all due to move into an apartment together soon, and they needed Aurora to sign the lease.

"That's...unlike her," said Keith, placing his hand on his chin in thought. "At least we came prepared in any case" continued Keith, motioning to the backpack on the back of his wheelchair.

"Yes...we might need to do more than a scouting mission" said Bethany, her frustration building in her voice. She recalled Aurora sending them a message the day before she was due to visit the New Zoo.

The butterflies in her stomach began to return, making Bethany feel regretful about not warning Aurora.

"I...we couldn't compromise our cover," thought Bethany, looking down towards the floor.

Keith noticed Bethany's downtrodden mood and reached out for her hand. He gripped it tightly, squeezing it reassuringly.

"Bethany's always been one to wear her heart on her sleeve...even when we were kids," thought Keith, taking a moment to eye her beautiful green blouse. He also couldn't help but sneak a peek at her well-maintained figure, admiring Bethany as he did so.

"Bethany?" asked Keith, trying to get her attention.

"Sorry...let's focus on the mission" replied Bethany, beginning to walk away from the Zebra enclosure. She noticed Keith nodding as he began to follow her, concerned for her wellbeing as he did so.

"What happened with Aurora isn't her fault...assuming she's in her somewhere," thought Keith, rubbing his face for a moment. He took care to avoid the small scar on his left cheek, a consequence of a previous assignment.

As Bethany continued to wander deeper into the Zoo, her mind couldn't help but wander once more. She couldn't help it, she'd always been quite the dreamer...quite the imaginative woman.

"I just wish I could achieve the dream I wanted the most," thought Bethany, having to hold back tears. She had tried to keep on a strong front, but everything that was happening had taken its toll on the woman.

Especially since her most desired dream...would be forever beyond her reach.

"I, I can't believe I'm infertile," thought Bethany, barely holding back her tears this time. Bethany desired children more than anything, wanting a child of her own to raise, care for...to be a perfect symbol of her and Keith's love.

Like Katie had been for Charlie & Cassandra.

"I know adoption or surrogacy could work but...it's, but it's just not the same," said Bethany, still full of grief that the one thing she wanted more than anything...seemed impossible to grasp.

In her trance, Bethany had failed to notice she was now outside another enclosure. She looked inside, noticing a cheetah within. She noticed that Keith had fallen behind, feeling a little ashamed of herself.

"I...I seriously need to pay better attention to my surroundings" thought Bethany, eyeing the cheetah atop one of the large rocks within the enclosure. She stared mindlessly at it, deciding to wait for Keith to catch up.

Diana yawned as she stretched herself on the large rock once more. She had just recently awoken from a nap as she looked around her enclosure. As Diana stretched once again, she noticed that she had a visitor.

"Huh...do I know her?" wondered Diana internally, deciding to cease her stretching as she got to all fours. She walked curiously towards the front of the enclosure. As she did, she noticed another familiar face approaching, although the wheelchair caught her off guard.

"Wait...that's impossible!" thought Diana, her eyes widening in realisation.

"Keith? Bethany?" growled Diana, staring curiously at the couple before her. "I guess their puppy love managed to stay strong after all" purred Diana, happy that some things had at least stayed the same.

Except for Keith and Bethany growing considerably. After all, it had been years since Diana had seen either of them.

"Still...I'm surprised they're still together" thought Diana, recalling the last time she had seen the pair. "That was definitely a night that I suppose we'll never forget" continued Diana internally, recalling just how eventful the night was...and the mistake she had made.

"I...I just hope mother, father or even sister didn't pay for it" chirped Diana, lowering her head with regret. She eyed the couple, noticing they still seemed as happy as ever. "Should I?" wondered Diana internally, recalling how Nadia had entered the zoo a few weeks ago.

And how Nadia had never left it.

"I just hope she's ok...wherever she is" thought Diana, shaking her head. "Will it make any difference?" wondered Diana internally, conflicted as to whether to try and warn Keith and Bethany of their situation.

"No...what's the point?" chirped Diana, dismissing her worry. She laid back down, feeling some comfort in the company of familiar faces. It felt rather fulfilling for a brief moment as Diana began to take in her further surroundings.

As Diana did so, she noticed that Caitlyn was eyeing her in the distance. Diana resisted the urge to yelp at her. She shook her head, deciding that, right now, the tigress wasn't worth her time.

"It's the boredom mostly," thought Diana as stared at the pair. "I could handle anything else but it's the boredom which particularly gets me" continued Diana, her tail fluttering. "I mean...would it hurt to give me some company?" wondered Diana, eyeing Caitlyn once more.

"Nice company I mean" chirped Diana, quickly correcting herself. She noticed how Caitlyn had Travis within her enclosure...someone to be close to. Someone to snuggle with, someone to love.

Diana would be lying to herself if she said she wasn't jealous...which, after thinking about it, might've been Rebecca's intention all along.

"I guess she's still a bitch" thought Diana, failing to notice Keith and Bethany had since left. She stared back once more towards Caitlyn who was looking at her 'smugly.' Diana shook her head, ignoring the tigress as she retreated into her enclosure.

After all, she might as well catch up on her sleep.

Within the Wolf Enclosure:
Oblivious to the events going on around them, Andy and Mindy were currently lying together blissfully. The warm sun shined down on the pair, providing a pleasant sensation as Mindy began to straighten herself up.

"C'mon...work with me" fumed Mindy internally, 'chuckling' as she spied down to her round belly. It had only gotten wider ever since Andy and Mindy had mated months ago which confirmed her pregnancy to the pair.

Now if only their young growing inside her were more cooperative.

"I still can't believe that this is our new lives," thought Mindy, looking down as she admired her lush white fur. "I still look magnificent" continued Mindy, 'smiling' once again, truly loving her new life as a wolf. She recalled the earlier moments, her memories being foggy due to mating with her lover, her mate.

"At least that was just a phase..." thought Mindy, feeling a brief sense of concern. She stared back over at Andy, thankful that while the pair had grown to love their new forms, they could still remember their former humanity. "For both of us..." yipped Mindy softly, her concern melting away as her excitement returned.

Her young kicked around inside her once more, Mindy 'smiling' as she wondered what giving birth would feel like.

Mindy's ear flicked as she turned around. She eyed Andy, her mate beginning to stir. He shifted onto his haunches, staring at Mindy as the pair eyed each other intently.

Something was clearly on Andy's mind...Mindy had known him long enough to know when something was bothering him.

"What's wrong?" asked Mindy bluntly, tilting her head in confusion.

"Nothing...why do you think something's wrong?" replied Andy, looking away from Mindy as she rolled her eyes in response.

"Andy...we've been together for how long?" deadpanned Mindy, shaking her head in slight annoyance. "I know the signs when something's bothering you" barked Mindy, walking closer towards Andy as she snuggled against him. "Besides...we're stuck with each other...might as well not keep secrets" finished Mindy, wagging her tail affectionately.

Andy stared back at his mate, shaking his head as he couldn't help but 'chuckle.' Mindy did always know how to make him open up. He noticed Mindy shifting slightly, her pregnancy causing her mobility issues.

"Which will likely get worse as she progresses" thought Andy, shaking his head. He eyed Mindy, his blue eyes against her green. "I'm...I'm just concerned" yipped Andy, turning his head away for a brief moment.

"Concerned...for who?" asked Mindy, feeling as if she already knew the answer.

"John and Lauren" replied Andy, keeping his back to Mindy. "I know we've grown to love our new forms but...what if either of them gets caught?" continued Andy, his ears dropping downwards. "I mean...we were never supposed to be here" finished Andy, turning back to face Mindy who stared at him concerningly.

"I...I honestly haven't given it much thought" admitted Mindy, thinking back to all those months ago. "We...we weren't supposed to receive those passes" continued Mindy, concerned for Lauren in particular.

After all, John had been rather secretive with all of them.

"I guess...we both just want them to be happy...right?" yipped Andy, shaking his head in doubt. As Andy hung his head for a moment, he was surprised to feel something against his muzzle. He looked, noticing Mindy licking his muzzle affectionately.

"Yes...we do," replied Mindy, staring directly into Andy's eyes. "We can only hope that John has been talked out of his investigation...however doubtful that is" continued Mindy, nuzzling her mate once more. Andy did the same, taking care not to disturb Mindy's pregnant belly as the pair 'cradled' each other affectionately.

Andy and Mindy stayed close, both wolves content in supporting each other through a difficult moment. However, as they continued to nuzzle, Andy noticed something out of the corner of his eye.

"Mindy?" yipped Andy softly, breaking Mindy from her trance. "We've got company" continued Andy, turning to face the newcomers.

"Well...this is unusual," thought Mindy, turning to face the newcomers alongside Andy. She stared intriguingly at them as she noticed that the newcomers were eying them with great interest.

Little did they realise that the newcomers would soon be their new packmates.

Outside the Wolf Enclosure:
Bethany continued to eye Mindy, admiring her lush white fur as Mindy moved into a new position. Bethany tilted her head in confusion as the wolf seemed rather...intelligent?

"Wait...the rumours... are they true?" wondered Bethany, admiring Mindy's eyes which shone like emeralds. Mindy seemed to be eying Bethany mischievously, appearing more cunning than the average wolf should be.

"The rumours...they are true," thought Bethany, nodding in realisation as she noticed Mindy's pregnancy. "Wait...could it be possible?" wondered Bethany looking down at herself once more, recalling her infertility.

Perhaps...there was a way for her to have children after all.

As the thought rooted itself into Bethany's mind, she noticed Keith at her side. Perhaps, he...perhaps Keith would be open to a 'little' life adjustment.

And all they would have to do...was take a dive.

Elsewhere:
As Keith and Bethany continued to eye the wolves with interest, Elizabeth and the Spirit were quickly approaching the Main Hallway. They stopped for a moment, the Spirit flashing momentarily as it eyed Elizabeth.

"Where are they?" asked Elizabeth, staring at the Spirit which closed its eyes as it focused.

"They're outside...the wolf enclosure" replied the Spirit, it's smile widening as it stared back at Elizabeth...its best friend.

"Well...that makes our job easier" snarked Elizabeth, shaking her head at the coincidence. She stared back at the Spirit, noticing it had a sceptical expression.

"So, what's the plan?" asked the Spirit, eying Elizabeth curiously.

"Uh...the usual?" replied Elizabeth in confusion. She eyed the Spirit, confused as to what the Spirit was getting at. "What...what are you getting at?" asked Elizabeth, noticing the Spirit's concerned expression.

"These...these people are more than they appear" replied the Spirit, its concern growing.

"What do you mean?!" asked Elizabeth, a small edge in her voice. However, she quickly regained her composure. Despite this, she still felt a bit on edge.

After all, she had almost died today...something which had clearly unnerved Elizabeth.

"I...I don't know" admitted the Spirit, unsure of how to make sense of the images it could sense within Keith and Bethany's minds. "I just want you to be careful, they seem suspicious," said the Spirit, concern evident in its voice.

Elizabeth stared at the Spirit, noticing that it really did seem concerned for her. Despite her misgivings, she couldn't help but smile. She stared at the sandals adorning the Spirit's feet...a symbol of their friendship.

"Ok...thank you for the heads up," said Elizabeth, her warm smile easing the Spirit's nerves.

At that, Elizabeth continued to head towards the Main Hallway. The Spirit wasn't too far behind as it hovered just out of sight. It still felt concerned for its friend as it kept a close eye on Elizabeth.

Just in case the worst was at risk of happening.

Meeting the Pack:
Elizabeth and the Spirit entered the Main Hallway, looking around curiously for the wolf enclosure. Elizabeth was suspicious of the Spirit's warning but, after it saved her life earlier, didn't intend to doubt its warning.

"Ok...now where is this couple?" wondered Elizabeth, recalling the way to the wolf enclosure from memory. As she walked, she noticed the Spirit just out of sight. She nodded her head in understanding, noticing the couple nearby.

"Wait...one's in a wheelchair?" thought Elizabeth, wondering how she could lure them into the enclosure. She fumed slightly in annoyance, reckoning that this was going to be awkward at the bare minimum.

Fortunately, she felt reassured as she knew the Spirit wasn't far. At least she had a contingency.

"Time to get this over with," said Elizabeth, walking towards the couple. She put on her best smile, hoping it would put the couple at ease.

"I hear something," said Keith, looking at Bethany as he managed to turn his head enough. He noticed a small woman, her blond hair neatly tied back in a braid. She was wearing a uniform as he imagined she was one of the managers of this Zoo.

As Keith adjusted his chair to face Elizabeth, Bethany turned to face Elizabeth as well. The pair both eyed Elizabeth as she approached, their sceptical glances unnerving her momentarily.

"Welcome to our Zoo," said Elizabeth, her cordial smile shining as she held out her hand. Keith shook it in response, Elizabeth slightly alarmed by the strength of his grip.

"Hello," said Bethany, eyeing Elizabeth suspiciously. Elizabeth however, was unnerved by Bethany's stare as she continued to smile warmly.

"I take it you've enjoyed looking through the Zoo so far?" asked Elizabeth, reckoning that the pair had been exploring the Main Hallway before she arrived. Besides, it would prove to be a good icebreaker.

She hoped.
"Of course, the animals are all so very interesting" replied Keith, his tone even as he looked directly into Elizabeth's eyes. It was as if he was trying to find any malevolence within, scope out Elizabeth's intentions.

Bethany however, was much less stoic.

"They certainly are very 'unique'" said Bethany, emphasis on her words. Elizabeth kept her composure, even as her nervousness continued to grow.

"She knows," thought Elizabeth, beginning to feel uneasy. However, she felt reassured as she noticed the Spirit in the corner of her eye. It seemed to be preparing to assist as Elizabeth shook her head slightly, causing it to withdraw...at least for now.

It was then Elizabeth decided on a basic approach.

"I noticed you seem to be taking an interest in the wolves...would you like to meet them personally?" asked Elizabeth, aware that it was a rather stupid question. Especially if they already knew what the managers had been up to.

The question seemed to give Bethany pause. Elizabeth noticed this as she realised that perhaps...they might be willing to join the Zoo?

"Do you mind if I discuss this with Keith privately?" asked Bethany, holding back her bubbling emotions. Keith stared at Bethany in confusion. However, upon noticing her expression, Keith nodded in agreement.

"Ok, I'll just stand over there" replied Elizabeth, pointing towards a column in the distance. "Just signal me back when you're ready" added Elizabeth, beginning to walk away from the pair.

As Elizabeth walked away, Bethany turned away from her and stared at Keith. She tried to hold back her excitement, knowing the potential of achieving her dream was within her reach.

Now all she had to do...was persuade Keith to join her.

Taking a Dive:
Once Elizabeth was comfortably away from the pair, Keith and Bethany turned to face each other. Keith eyed Bethany, sceptical of her intentions.

"Something on your mind?" asked Keith, his voice full of confusion. "You realise that she's trying to trap us...right?" added Keith, confused as to why Elizabeth's proposition would even be up for discussion.

"Keith I..." started Bethany, trying to find the correct words to say. She glanced towards Keith, feeling uneasy about her proposition. However, something was pushing her on...filling her with determination not to give up easily.

"I...I kind of want to join the wolves" said Bethany, holding back embarrassment. She took a glance at Keith, noticing his sceptical glance.

"You realise what you're implying...correct?" asked Keith, noticing Bethany nod in response. "We were sent to scout out the Zoo, not join it" continued Keith, noticing Bethany staring at the floor as he rubbed his eyes. "Why...why do you want to join the Zoo?" asked Keith, retaining his tact as he eyed his girlfriend.

"I...we both desire children...a family" replied Bethany, bending down as she gazed directly into Keith's eyes. "We can't do that while I'm infertile" continued Bethany, tears coming to her eyes. "And...perhaps the transformation will heal your legs?" finished Bethany, noticing Keith staring down at his legs...thinking back to the accident that had crippled him.

"It would...it would be nice to have my legs working again," thought Keith, his brow furrowing as he recalled Greta...how her negligence had cost him. "Although...how would they react? Would they be able to track us down?" wondered Keith, wondering how they could keep their tracks covered...and prevent worse people from pursuing what would be their new home.

He stared at Bethany, noticing her hopeful eyes. She really did want this...but did Keith also want this?

"Wait...am I actually thinking of agreeing to this?" thought Keith, still unsure of what to do. While he dreaded the possibility of worse people pursuing the Zoo...he found himself becoming more apathetic to the idea.

"No...for once, we deserve a second chance...to be together" concluded Keith, having made his decision as he eyed Bethany softly. "I...we deserve a second chance," said Keith, barely preparing himself as Bethany wrapped him into a deep hug. "Now...do you want to call her back or should I?" asked Keith.

"I'll do it" replied Bethany, her voice full of enthusiasm as she signalled for Elizabeth to return. She struggled to contain her excitement as Elizabeth walked back towards the pair, allowing Keith to take the lead.

"We'd like to meet the wolves you have here," said Keith, pointing towards Andy and Mindy. Elizabeth smiled as she nodded in agreement, content that her predicament had sorted itself out.

"Perfect...follow me" replied Elizabeth, heading towards the back door of the enclosure. Bethany followed her, struggling to contain her excitement as Keith wasn't far behind.

The couple managed to hold in their excitement, happy to get the second chance they desired.

As Andy and Mindy watched the group leave, Mindy turned towards Andy.

"Looks like we're getting new packmates soon" barked Mindy, Andy nodding in agreement.

However, as the pair continued to wonder about their new packmates, they began to feel strange. Mindy's eyes were the first to darken, a strange compulsion coming over her. While the shade of green could still be seen, it seemed to be changing.

"Wait...what's going on?!" thought Mindy, panic coming over her as her eyes widened. However, the human clarity within continued to be pushed back. "Andy...Andy, something's happening!" barked Mindy, her voice dying out as she found herself in a trance.

"Mindy...Mindy?!" barked Andy, feeling the same magic enveloping his mind. He tried to bark out in protest, trying to resist. However, he was powerless before the magical influence as the sclera of his eyes darkened, becoming animalistic as the light blue was forced back, darkening as the trance consolidated its hold over his mind.

The pair of wolves now began to move deeper into the enclosure, both full of anticipation for their new packmates as the magic influencing them was encouraging them to help the process along.

Meanwhile, Keith and Bethany had arrived at the back door of the enclosure alongside Elizabeth. Elizabeth opened the door as the pair eagerly entered. They didn't even seem to notice Elizabeth closing the door behind them before locking it.

In reality, Keith and Bethany just didn't care.

However, before she left the pair to their transformation, Elizabeth couldn't help but be curious as to what was in Keith's backpack.

"I should have a look before I destroy the evidence," thought Elizabeth, unable to sate her curiosity as to the contents within.

Expanding the Pack:
Keith and Bethany looked around the enclosure, admiring what they knew was going to be their new home. It had large saggy rocks scattered throughout, allowing the pair to soon relax upon them.

"What do you think of our new digs?" asked Keith, smiling softly as he noticed Bethany was holding back her excitement.

"It's...perfect" replied Bethany, noticing the nearby waterfall which could be used as a bathing or drinking source. The melody of the water was captivating as Bethany couldn't help but feel tingly all over.

"I...I think it's starting" said Bethany, feeling strange sensations all over. She couldn't help but feel itchy, her clothes feeling more uncomfortable by the moment. She fought back the temptation to strip...at least for now, taking in more of the enclosure as she did so.

She noticed a nearby cave which was elevated upwards to give a good outside view of the enclosure. Bethany panted as her tongue flopped out of her mouth, the heat coming over her becoming harder and harder to bear.

"Bethany?" asked Keith, feeling a little uncertain. However, as he noticed Bethany's growing smile, he couldn't help but begin to warm up to the idea. Even as he noticed a pair of wolves approaching them, he could feel a strange sensation coming over him. He pushed it back, wanting to make sure that Bethany was ok before submitting to the sensations.

"I...I feel...amazing" replied Bethany, her tongue lengthening as it forced itself from her mouth. She looked up, noticing the clear glass ceiling as the sight of the sun caused her to feel even warmer. The sensations began to focus around her ears, causing her to giggle.

"My...my...my ears," said Bethany, feeling her ears shift and stretch out. They began to move to the top of her head, becoming triangular as she felt her hearing sharpen, becoming more precise. Bethany was in awe as she could feel soft blond hairs pushing out of her new ears, admiring what she expected to be her new fur growing in.

"Bethany...are...are you sure you want this?" asked Keith, noticing her new ears as Bethany smiled enthusiastically. She nodded eagerly, her tongue flopping from her mouth as she moved towards Keith. She barely paid any attention to the pair of wolves watching the pair as she gripped onto Keith.

"Yes...yes, I want this" mumbled Bethany eagerly. As she stared directly at Keith, her nose began to shift, darkening as it began to flatten into a true wolf's nose. She could feel her sense of smell increasing, becoming more and more sensitive as she picked up a scent. As she looked down towards Keith's trousers, she couldn't help but smirk. "And it seems that you do too," said Bethany, gripping Keith as she gently pulled him from his wheelchair.

"Bethany...what are you" started Keith, losing his words as Bethany licked his face.

"Just relax Keith...and let me give you a show" replied Bethany softly, pulling Keith down onto the ground as she stared at him. Her tongue flopped out as she bent down towards Keith, nuzzling her nose against him as Keith stopped resisting the sensations which were passing through him.

It was then the sensations began to focus around Keith's rear. He cringed slightly as he could feel his spine beginning to push out. It pressed against his trousers, causing more and more pressure as it began to tickle the back of Keith's legs.

"I guess my fur is growing in," thought Keith, noticing just how happy Bethany was on top of him. She moved in for another kiss, one that Keith accepted graciously as his new tail burst through his trousers. It was covered in coarse grey fur and wagged in approval at how happy Bethany was feeling.

"You like that...don't you?" said Bethany seductively, enjoying the moment as she began to feel a warmth forming around her genitalia. She immediately found herself at a loss of breath, she could feel her vagina shifting, becoming canine as it began to feel very, very warm...which could only mean one thing.

"I'm...I'm in estrus," thought Bethany, overjoyed with euphoria since she now could finally achieve her dream. She stared back down at Keith, her mate...knowing that they would soon be able to have children...have a family.

"Keith...I...I can be pregnant" mumbled Bethany, feeling a strange sensation forming around her rear. Knowing what was coming, Bethany pulled down her shorts, exposing her lower body as a long, vibrant tail began to push from her rear. It had long, distinct creamy blond fur as it began to wag erratically. Bethany finally removed her panties, feeling a tingling in her hands as she did so.

"I...I can tell" replied Keith, smiling widely as he pulled Bethany inwards. He caressed her lovingly, going in for a deep kiss as he felt a tingling sensation around his nose. Nevertheless, he continued to love his mate, any doubt of his decision having faded from his mind.

Keith's nose began to darken, flattening as it became increasingly sensitive. It was becoming canine as he began to pick up much more distinct smells and scents but one, in particular, was catching his attention.

"Beth...Bethany?" mumbled Keith, picking up Bethany's scent as his tail wagged eagerly with anticipation. Bethany, aware of what Keith was smelling, stroked his new nose with her tail, giggling at the visible erection within Keith's trousers. She turned to present herself before Keith, eager to get started on building their new family.

However, their remaining clothing was proving to be a rather annoying obstruction.

As Bethany intended to remove her blouse, she could feel the sensations across her hands spreading to her arms. She could only watch as her arms began to thicken out, lengthening slightly as they lost flexibility. Bethany felt her arms transitioning into a strong pair of front legs as they landed on the ground in front of her.

"A bit too soon for that" fumed Bethany, feeling rather irritated that her attempt to strip had been thwarted. She could feel her hands beginning to thicken up, finger plumping as they forced themselves together. Her nails darkened, thickening into claws as pads formed below her paws as she now found herself the proud owner of a new pair of front legs for a wolf.

Fortunately, assistance was coming as Bethany noticed the pristine white wolf from earlier coming to her aid. Its eyes seemed blank, usually dark as Bethany felt confused for a moment.

"Did...did they always look like that?" wondered Bethany, shaking her head to remove her doubt. She felt Mindy's claws softly tear into her clothing, reducing her green blouse to scraps before focusing her efforts on Bethany's white t-shirt.

Soon, Bethany was now completely naked as her doubt melted away into horniness. Right now, what she really wanted...was Keith deep inside her.

As Bethany imagined mating with Keith, her canine vagina began to shift. It moved, settling under her tail as Bethany's eagerness only continued to grow.

While Mindy had assisted Bethany, Andy was currently heading towards Keith. Keith, having already seen what Mindy had done, was aware of Andy's intentions.

And, given the growing erection in Andy's trousers...he couldn't wait.

"Thank you...thank you for helping me" said Keith, unsure as to whether Andy could understand him. In either case, he knew Andy was going to assist him along.

Andy unsheathed his claws, beginning to gently tear into Keith's shirt. Keith could feel the sensations spreading across his chest as he noticed that grey fur, the same shade as his tail, was beginning to push out, covering his abs and pecks as Keith couldn't help but smirk.

"I...I feel like a handsome wolf" thought Keith, feeling the fur spreading across his body. He began to feel rather itchy, the clothing no longer comfortable. He attempted to remove his shirt, surprised when Andy placed his paw against Keith's hands. Keith eyed Andy's darkened blue eyes, nodding in understanding as he allowed Andy to get to work.

Keith moaned as he could feel the sensations focusing around his genitals. Underneath his trousers, he could feel his erection and sex drive becoming impossible to ignore. Keith was well aware that his penis was changing into the red rocket equivalent that his future species was known for. Keith breathed out, his mind in a haze as the thoughts of mating began to dominate his mind.

"I...I...I need to fuck Bethany" thought Keith, feeling a warmth in his mouth. His tongue began to flop out, lengthening as Keith panted frantically. He shook his head, trying to stave off the warmth he was feeling.

However, like the sensations, Keith was finding it impossible to resist.

Keith, now naked except for his developing fur, tried to right himself. However, his legs were proving to be uncooperative. Fortunately, the sensations began to focus on his legs as Keith's mind was faint. His arousal was making it difficult to think coherently as he could feel his legs.

"Wait...I can feel my legs?!" thought Keith, feeling rather overjoyed as his legs began to heal from the accident which had crippled them. Bones began to fix themselves, shifting into their canine equivalents as they bulked up, strengthening as Keith managed to right himself.

Keith was bent down on his hands as his rear legs continued to form. He angled his butt into the air as his feet began to tingle. His toes began to shrink, crunching together as his nails formed into sharp, dark, canine claws. Keith's nose was still picking up Bethany's scent as his tongue flopped out of his mouth.

It was too much.

"Keith...please fuck me" begged Bethany, her vagina on fire as he strutted her tail temptingly. She panted as she imagined having a litter of pups. As she did so, her breasts began to tingle, shrinking down as they were absorbed into her body. Once only a pair of teats remained, Bethany could feel them multiply down her body, becoming suitable for nursing her future pups.

Now if only Keith could mate with her already.

"What are you waiting..." said Bethany, moaning as she felt Keith enter her. "Ohhhhhhh...it's....it's everything I dreamed of" moaned Bethany, her eyes rolling back in her head as Keith thrusted.

Bethany could feel a tingling sensation around her rear as Keith continued to thrust. She felt her legs changing, matching her arms as they began to bulk up. She could feel them losing flexibility even as Keith continued to mate.

"Yes...yes, make me your wolf...make me your bitch!" howled Bethany, her words full of lust. Her feet began to crunch together, ignoring her lust as her toes scrunched together, her nails being replaced with dark claws. Pads formed beneath her paws, giving her a perfect pair of rear canine paws.
As Keith began to pick up his rhythm, the pair howled out in ecstasy. They ignored how increasingly lupine their howls sounded as Bethany and Keith were locked into lust.

Andy and Mindy stared at the pair with interest, thankful that they would soon have new packmates. The magic that had controlled their mind was beginning to fade as the human clarity within their eyes began to return.

"Huh...wha?" thought Mindy, shaking her head. It was then she noticed the sight of Keith and Bethany mating. She couldn't help but blush, turning away to give the changing humans some privacy.

"Well...that was unexpected" yipped Andy, noticing the pair continued to thrust. He noticed the grey fur growing across Keith's body alongside the creamy blond fur covering Bethany. He turned to face Mindy, the pair nodding in silent agreement as they opted to return to their cave.

After all, there was much to discuss between them...introductions could wait until later.

Keith and Bethany, in trance at their mating, had failed to notice Andy and Mindy had left. They felt warmer and warmer as their fur grew into a true wolf pelt. Keith could feel his arms changing, losing flexibility as they lengthened out. They soon matched his legs as he realised he could stand comfortably on all fours. His hands began to change, assuming a different shape as his nails darkened into claws.

"Yes...yes, make me a wolf...a true alpha," thought Keith, eagerly thrusting as Bethany howled in gratitude. Keith could feel his fingers thickening, thick pads forming as his front paws were now complete.

Now, the only thing remaining human on the pair...were their faces.

Keith's ears began to stretch out, the same grey fur which had dominated the rest of his body spreading across them. He panted as his ears became triangular, his hearing becoming considerably better as they became true wolf ears.

"C'mon...we're close to climax!" howled Bethany, oblivious to the fact that she had lost her human voice. She pushed back on Keith's thrusting, trying to force more of his penis into her. She panted incessantly, the experience, unlike anything she had ever had.

As the pair continued to mate, they could feel their faces beginning to shift and change. As if in harmony, the pair could feel their faces beginning to press out. They forced out, inch by inch, crunch by crunch as they noticed their new muzzles pushing out right between their eyes. They felt ticklish as their fur continued to spread across their muzzles, feeling tingling in their teeth.

Their teeth began to shift, becoming harder, stronger, and sharper as they changed to become truly canine. Bethany panted, managing to get her tongue across some of her new teeth as she 'smiled', eagerly looking forward to her new life ahead.

Especially, if it meant she could have multiple litters.

"Ah...ah...almost there," thought Bethany, yipping as her sapphire blue eyes began to change. They began to widen, becoming better and sharper for seeing future prey. However, her blue colouration was preserved, clearly demonstrating a spark of 'human' intellect behind them.

The same was occurring to Keith, his warm brown eyes beginning to change. He continued to thrust as his eyes darkened, the warm brown colour remaining as he embraced the changes undergoing his body. He could feel their climax fast approaching as he raised his head towards the glass ceiling.

HOWL!!!!!!!!!

The pair howled as Keith finally climaxed into Bethany. As they did, their fur spread to cover their faces. Bethany's pigtails withdrew into her scalp, and the bobbles holding it back fell to the floor as her pristine blond fur took its place.

Keith's was the same, his brown hair withdrawing as grey fur replaced it, giving him a majestic coat and having him resemble a true alpha wolf. He panted softly, feeling tired all of a sudden.

And, looking at Bethany, she was clearly feeling the same.

The pair staggered, now feeling rather tired from their ordeal as Bethany couldn't help but collapse onto the mud of their new home. Keith, still knotted within Bethany, found himself doing the same as they passed out in a state of post-coital bliss.

As the pair slept, Andy and Mindy could see the new wolves from their cave. They eyed them curiously, hoping the new company would be friendly.

"Welcome to the pack" yipped Mindy, shaking her head before heading back into the cave. Andy took another brief moment to glance at the pair before joining his mate.

After all, they still needed to discuss their earlier trance...and how much it worried them.

The Calm Before the Storm:
"Welcome to the pack" mumbled Elizabeth, admiring the new pair of wolves who were passed out in the mud. Upon closer inspection, Elizabeth could tell that Keith and Bethany were still knotted within each other as she couldn't help but chuckle.

"They certainly were eager," thought Elizabeth, enjoying her brief respite as she noticed the Spirit approaching her from above. It eyed Elizabeth, noticing the curiosity in her eyes.

"Can you gather the evidence please?" asked Elizabeth, the Spirit nodding in understanding as its hand began to glow green. It waved its hand into the air, the former couple's belongings beginning to fade from the enclosure.

The wheelchair began to fade away, vanishing before any observers as the metal seemed to be becoming transparent. The wheels soon faded, the whole chair quickly ceasing to exist as the bag contained on it was teleported into Elizabeth's hands.

The scraps of clothing which were scattered around the enclosure also began to dissolve, quickly ceasing to exist as the only coverings Keith and Bethany would require from now on...was their luscious fur.

"Thank you," said Elizabeth, opening the backpack as her curiosity continued to grow. She pulled back the zipper, promptly opening the bag as she noticed something strange within.

"Huh?" thought Elizabeth, reaching into the bag as she pulled out a pair of wolf masks within the bag. She glanced at them curiously, wondering what to make of them. She turned back to glance at the new pair of wolves, shaking her head as she placed the masks back in the bag.

"I'm guessing they really were crazy" reasoned Elizabeth, deciding that the bag should be taken to the onsite incinerator. "It would explain the Spirit's concern...especially after earlier today" concluded Elizabeth, taking a moment to breathe after such an eventful day.

However, it would appear that the day wasn't quite over yet for Elizabeth.

Unexpected Encounter:
"So...this is the place?" said a woman, staring directly up at the stone archways which formed the entrance to the 'New Zoo.'

The woman was rather tall, her lanky frame unusual for her gender. She had long blond hair, flowing like silk towards her waist. She was wearing a majestic white dress, complimenting her body perfectly as her warm brown eyes looked into the Main Hallway.

"Valeria...you feeling ok?" asked the man at her side. He could tell his wife was nervous about coming here, he could feel it too. Something just didn't seem right.

"I'll...I'll be fine" replied Valeria, trying to regain her resolve. "I've had business deals harder and worse than this after all," thought Valeria, walking through the stone archways. "Time to go find our daughter Dominic" called out Valeria, entering the Main Hallway as she looked back towards her husband.

Dominic was a rather rotund man. His short light brown hair contained streaks of grey within, betraying his age. His large beard was well-kept, even though it also had streaks of grey. He had worn a formal charcoal suit which complimented his frame, appearing expensive as he entered the Main Hallway alongside his wife.

Meanwhile, the Spirit felt a small sensation passing through it. It tingled as the Spirit closed its eyes, managing to detect the couple. After a few more seconds, its eyes widened as a realisation came over it.

"What's wrong?" asked Elizabeth, facing the Spirit.

"Someone's here...someone unexpected" replied the Spirit, noticing Elizabeth's confused expression.

"Can you be a little less cryptic?" asked Elizabeth, crossing her arms in slight frustration. Clearly, the events of the day were beginning to wear her down.

"It's Marie's parents, they've come to the Zoo to find their daughter" explained the Spirit. The spirit noticed Elizabeth staring into space for a moment, clearly thinking up a plan.

"Ok...looks like we're making some more additions today" stated Elizabeth, her tone indicating she was fed up.

As Elizabeth began to walk away, the Spirit felt something unusual inside. It felt like...transforming Marie's parents was...wrong?

"Wait!" called out the Spirit, Elizabeth turning to face the Spirit. Her look of confusion was giving way to frustration as she only wanted the day to be over at this point.

"What...what are we waiting for?" asked Elizabeth, her irritated tone causing the Spirit to pause momentarily.

"Can we...can we not transform her parents?" asked the Spirit pleadingly. "Marie's my friend...and this...it feels wrong to transform her parents" added the Spirit.

Elizabeth held back her surprise as she eyed the Spirit. The situation felt surreal. The Spirit, which could likely annihilate her, was asking her to spare someone.

"I mean...I could do it" thought Elizabeth, thinking back to Lilly. "Am I...am I wanting to subject myself to that guilt again?" continued Elizabeth, wondering whether she shouldn't do it. "I mean...would this be no different to the parents of those school children?" wondered Elizabeth, still trying to work out what she should do.

It took a few more moments for Elizabeth to make a decision.

"No...it's different" concluded Elizabeth, nodding as she smiled softly. She stared back towards the Spirit, content with her decision.

"Go and keep Marie company...I'll join you shortly," said Elizabeth. "I'm not going to transform her parents...especially with the upcoming Orientation" reassured Elizabeth, noticing the Spirit's soft smile as it faded away.

"Hello? Do you work here?" boomed a nearby voice. Elizabeth turned around, noticing a man and a woman approaching her. She shook her head, fully aware that they might've seen the Spirit.

Although, given her plan, their knowledge of the Spirit was a moot point.

"Speak of the devil...and they shall appear," thought Elizabeth, putting on her best smile. She seemed slightly confused at the appearance of Marie's parents, trying to reconcile the family resemblance.

"Where's our daughter?" asked Valeria firmly, glaring down at Elizabeth who, being worn out from the day, barely reacted.

"Can you please clarify who you're talking about?" asked Elizabeth, feigning ignorance as she glanced upwards at Valeria.

"Our Daughter is named Marie," said Dominic, glancing down at Elizabeth. "She applied for a job recently at this Zoo and has been missing since" continued Dominic, keeping his tone professional. "Due to the rumours surrounding this place, we decided to come and investigate" finished Dominic, his gruff tone causing Elizabeth to feel mildly intimidated.

"Your daughter has just been very busy working in the Petting Zoo" explained Elizabeth, looking up at both parents.

"Overnight?" asked Valeria, struggling to believe Elizabeth's words. "Honestly, this is very hard to believe," added Valeria, crossing her arms as she continued to glare.

"Then how about I show you?" offered Elizabeth, noticing the pair nodding in agreement. As they did, Elizabeth turned to leave, motioning the pair to follow her.

"My name's Elizabeth by the way," said Elizabeth, turning back briefly towards the parents.

"Dominic" stated Dominic, focused on following Elizabeth.

"Valeria" stated Valeria, similarly focused on finding their daughter.
The group continued to walk towards the Petting Zoo, Elizabeth being shut down each time she tried to start any form of conversation.

"Awkward Silence...yay," thought Elizabeth, her mind dull as they continued to head towards the Petting Zoo.

The Family Reunion:
The group arrived at the Petting Zoo as Dominic and Valeria looked around. They noticed the nearby Sheep Pen as Clara cavorted around her mother, clearly joyful as the other sheep grazed around her.

"This...is rather quaint," said Valeria, noticing a donkey grazing in a nearby pasture which brayed mindlessly. She could hear the honking of geese as well, a small smile coming to her face despite the circumstances.

"Agreed...I can see why Marie would like it here" replied Dominic, noticing a nearby rabbit hutch which appeared to be occupied. "Perhaps...could it be?" wondered Dominic, trying to recall any recent memories of them simply having family time like they used to.

"I don't mean to interrupt but...Marie is currently in the barn if you want to see her," said Elizabeth, motioning the pair towards the Red Barn. As they approached the large doors of the Red Barn, Elizabeth pushed them open. She allowed the parents to enter first, following behind them.

As they walked further into the barn, Marie's ears swivelled as she picked up the familiar melodic voice of her...

"Mother?" lowed Marie, annoyed for once at having only produced a soft lowing. She glanced above the gate of her stall, her eyes widening in surprise as she recognised her parents.

"Golly...so the Spirit wasn't lying to me?" thought Marie, trying to think of something, anything to say. However, given her bovine vocalisations, she decided to allow her parents to lead any conversation.

"Elizabeth? Where is Marie?" asked Valeria, confused as she noticed the cow staring directly at her. Its warm brown eyes caught her off guard, unsettling her somewhat as she couldn't help but feel that the cow before was...someone she knew?

"Wait...the rumours," thought Valeria, noticing Dominic motioning at her. She stared directly at the cow, her next thought feeling like a fool's errand.

Still...what else did she have to lose?

"Marie?" asked Valeria, her uncertain tone catching Marie off guard.

"Mother? She's never been like this before" thought Marie, wishing she could communicate with her parents. She could feel the guilt from earlier coming back to the surface as she began to feel tingly. She could feel a strange sensation passing through her, focusing around her throat and, upon seeing her parents, could tell they were feeling the same.

"Wha...what's going on?" said Valeria, noticing Dominic's confusion. It was at that point the pair were drawn to a large turquoise flash above. Their eyes widened in surprise as they noticed what appeared to be a small child emerging.

Except, the entity before them looked different to any child they'd ever seen. Its hair was a shade of turquoise and voluminous, curling out. The irises of its eyes were varying shades of blue and green. It wore a light blue t-shirt with a picture of the Zoo's entrance alongside a turquoise jacket, the same shade as its hair. Finally, it wore a pair of green shorts alongside a pair of sandals adorning its feet.

"Well, you certainly know how to make an entrance," said Elizabeth, smiling as she noticed the Spirit facing the parents.

"Thank you" replied the Spirit, staring directly at the parents who still seemed startled at the Spirit before them. It shook its head, motioning for Valeria to try and talk to the cow again.

"M...Marie?" asked Valeria, beginning to feel overwhelmed by the situation.

"Mother...are you ok?" said Marie, her eyes widening briefly. "I...I can speak to her...to them" thought Marie, struggling to hold back the joy within her.

Although, the reminder of the gate between them reminded her that this wasn't exactly a cordial visit.

"Daughter...who did this to you?" said Dominic, turning to face Elizabeth. His glare began to intensify as he felt his protective instincts emerging.

"Leave her alone" warned the Spirit, glaring directly at Dominic. He paused his approach, moving back as he noticed the Spirit's hands glowing green.

"Don't hurt them Spirit!" said Marie, her desperate tone catching everyone off guard. The Spirit turned to face Marie, sensing her distress. It then moved towards her, stroking her muzzle in an attempt to soothe her.

"Don't worry Marie...I won't" reassured the Spirit, staring back towards Dominic and Valeria. They seemed uneasy, wondering what they could do.

Despite their uncertainty, they had no desire to abandon their daughter.

"Why...why have you done this to her?" asked Valeria, her tone uncertain as she seemed to be on the brink of crying. The Spirit stared at her pitifully, taking a moment to glance back at Marie before nodding.

"Your daughter was unhappy with how overprotective you were of her" explained the Spirit. Dominic and Valeria glanced at the Spirit, realisation setting in that...they'd pushed their daughter into this.

"Is...is this true Marie?" asked Dominic, his tone uncertain but still maintaining his composure.

"...Yes..." admitted Marie, hanging her head down. She couldn't even stare at her parents, her guilt continuing to gnaw at her mind.

"This is why she applied to work here...to get something you couldn't give her...freedom," said Elizabeth, relishing the situation. Perhaps...the day could be salvaged after all?

"We...we didn't mean to push you away," said Valeria, the tears finally giving way. A few dropped to the floor as she glanced back at her daughter. Marie couldn't even bring herself to look at her parents. "At least...at least she seems to be being cared for" admitted Valeria internally, struggling to deal with her guilt. She was beginning to feel a little faint as Dominic held onto her for support.

"We...we cannot allow this," said Dominic, staring down at both Elizabeth and the Spirit. Even as they seemed unfazed at his glare, Dominic held strong. He needed to keep his wife and daughter safe.

"Who said you get a choice?" asked Elizabeth, her smile widening. "I mean...do you really expect to be able to expose us?" continued Elizabeth, the Spirit backing her up.

Dominic stared at the pair, unsure of what to do. Despite his desire to continue to resist...he realised that he didn't stand a chance. He hung his head down momentarily, conceding before looking back at the pair.

"Ok...let's talk business" started Dominic, regaining his composure.

"She's not for sale" replied Elizabeth, noticing Dominic's composure falter. "However, you can join us instead" continued Elizabeth, noticing Valeria's eyes widen. "Don't worry though...I'm not talking about joining us as animals...for once" finished Elizabeth, noting the parents seemed rather reassured.

"What...what do you mean?" asked Valeria.

"Well...we do have an upcoming Orientation Day which I would be happy to invite you to," explained Elizabeth, noticing the parents nodding in agreement. "You'd be working alongside other people to help us maintain our Zoo here" continued Elizabeth.

"We'll...we'll be there" mumbled Valeria, turning away as she began to leave. Dominic began to follow her, concerned for his wife.

"Glad to hear," said Elizabeth, her smile more malicious. "Although don't tell anyone what we do here...it's a trade secret" continued Elizabeth, noticing the parents nod in agreement. "Failure to comply will result in you joining the Zoo. As you can tell, my friend there can make people's lives uncomfortable" threatened Elizabeth as she watched the pair leaving the Red Barn.

"Don't worry...we'll look after your daughter in the meantime" said Elizabeth, her reassuring tone made her hope that the parents might be put at ease. Although, if it didn't, Elizabeth didn't really care.

"Now...I presume you need to be milked Marie?" asked Elizabeth, noticing Marie nodding in response. Elizabeth nodded as she picked up a nearby bucket and stool before opening Marie's stall.

Marie's head was still bent down, trying to ease her guilt as she began to chew her cud. She mooed softly as Elizabeth sat down by Marie's udder and began to milk her. Marie had to admit the sensation felt good, feeling relieved as the weight of her udder began to drop.

"I presume you've got the parents under control?" asked Elizabeth, calling out to the Spirit.

"Yes...I linked their minds to mine as I did with Charlotte" replied the Spirit, smiling with reassurance. "I'll be able to deal with them if they attempt to report the Zoo" reassured the Spirit, noticing Elizabeth's expression. There was clearly something on her mind, although the Spirit didn't plan on reading her mind to find out.

"So Rebecca informed me that we have someone attempting to blackmail us," said Elizabeth as she looked at the Spirit. "Do you know anything about this?" asked Elizabeth, hoping that the Spirit could shed light on this.

"I...I don't know about this I'm afraid" replied the Spirit, shaking its head. It could recall faint recollections, although nothing concrete. However, one of the few vivid images that came to its mind was that of a crocodile.

"Perhaps though...I'll be able to find out for you," said the Spirit, hoping that Elizabeth would be satisfied with its answer.

"Ok, you do that" replied Elizabeth, standing up from the stool. "Can you finish up with Marie here please?" asked Elizabeth, gripping the whistle around her neck. "I'm going to blow my whistle against all the animals...I don't want a repeat of earlier today" explained Elizabeth, walking away as she planned to put her plan into action.

As Elizabeth left, the Spirit turned back to face Marie. It didn't know what to think, feeling uncertain about how Marie felt.

"Marie? Are you ok?" asked the Spirit, its tone soft.

"Please...just...just leave me alone" replied Marie, unable to look directly at the Spirit. The Spirit stared at her for a moment longer...unsure of what to do. As a result, it shook its head, departing as it was curious as to what the secrets the Crocodile's memories would reveal.

Hence, Marie was left alone...with nothing but her thoughts. She wanted to cry but her new bovine body wouldn't let her. She felt alone within the Red Barn as she desired a companion...someone to keep her company.

Epilogue:
Within the carpark of the New Zoo, Dominic and Valeria entered their car. As they fastened their seatbelts, Valeria leaned back in the passenger seat...struggling to hold back her emotions.

"We...I really messed up this time" said Valeria, struggling to hold back her tears.

"Don't blame yourself..." replied Dominic, turning the ignition as the car came to life. "We're both at fault for our daughter ending up here" continued Dominic, reversing the car as the couple began to depart from the New Zoo.

"I...I don't know what to think" said Valeria, breathing softly. "I mean...did we ever envision this for our daughter?" continued Valeria, staring out of the window.

"No...we didn't" replied Dominic, focusing on the road ahead as the car began the drive back to the city they called home. "But now, the most important thing is our daughter," continued Dominic, noticing his wife staring at him through the rearview mirror. "And the best thing we can do now...is show that we love her" finished Dominic, the pair both realising that their futures were about to change significantly.

"So...I guess we'll be back for Orientation?" said Valeria, a small smile coming to her face despite the circumstances.

"Of course" replied Dominic, nodding as the New Zoo was now little more than a speck in the distance. The pair reflected on their lives, realising that new beginnings were on the horizon. But it would all be worthwhile just to be reunited with their daughter.

Even if they had to sign a deal with the devil to make it happen.
