Sage

It's an extremely slow Friday today. I've been at work since ten, it's now three, about two hours left of my shift and there's still absolutely nothing. I'm blaming it on the shit weather outside.

Nevertheless I'm grateful that I'm finishing early. If I had to stand here until the evening doing absolutely nothing I would of lost my mind. Probably would of ended up falling asleep.

I'm cleaning the counter, not because it's dirty, because I'm trying to keep myself occupied so the time can go by, when I hear the door open.

I look up and standing there is him. Wes. The man that I've been seeing way too much for my own liking lately. He's wearing a navy blue nike jumper and black jeans. Even with a jumper on and from a distance you can see the outline of his muscles.

His eyes meet mine and he smirks. Heads over to me. His friends taking a seat at what I assume is their usual table since it was the same table they sat at last time. Valentina is with them this time which I'm happy about because we got on really well when we met. She's a lovely girl.

"Sage!" He sighs happily leaning on the counter that I just cleaned.

"Wes." I cross my arms over my chest.

"You just get more beautiful everyday." He shakes his head as he studies me. His eyes looking at every part of my face.

"Do you actually want something? Or are you just here to bother me?" I look over to him expectantly.

"Guinness please. A pint."

"Okay." I nod grabbing the glass and walking over to the beer tap. Pulling it down to fill up the glass.

He watches me intently as I do. I ignore his obvious glances as I focus on making his drink.

I finish making it, return back to him and slide over the glass.

"Can I take you to dinner?" He questions, his hand on top of mine that is still situated on the glass.

"No." I let go of the glass.

"Why not?" He tilts his head questioningly. Smug smile on his face as he waits for my answer.

"Because, I don't want to see you anymore than I already have the past few weeks." I roll my eyes.

"Sage, you're really breaking my heart right now." He says sarcastically. Hand on his heart.

"Why won't you leave me alone?" I lean in a little closer to him. Agitated at his constant advances.

"Because I'm pretty sure you're the girl of my dreams." He smirks.

I roll my eyes, ignoring his comment. Pick up the cloth I was previously using and continue to clean the already clean counter.

"Think about my offer yeah?" His voice makes it alarmingly evident that he's smirking. I don't even have to look up to confirm, I know he is.

"For you." I see a £20 note in front of me. I look up, locking eyes with him. Show him that I'm unimpressed. He just grins, turns and walks back to his table.
