WesI open my eyes looking over to see the bed empty on the other side. My eyes search for Sage, look around the room until I spot her in the bathroom.
She's sat on the edge of the bath, mirror in one hand, mascara in the other. Her long curly hair is pinned back at the front. She's very heavily concentrated, mouth slightly parted as she stares into the mirror to apply her mascara.
I watch her, let out a heavy breath. Really can't figure out how she can look so effortlessly beautiful all of the time. She's beautiful doing anything. The most captivating woman to exist.
The morning sun is shining on her face making her glow. She's not paying attention to anything other than doing her makeup meanwhile I'm sat staring over at her from the bed, unable to take my eyes off of her.
I could watch her for hours.
She puts down her mascara, grabs a makeup brush and some of her makeup, turns to the big mirror hanging up on the wall, starts to dab some onto her face. Stops after a few minutes, leaning in closer to inspect her face, see if she's missed a spot or something.
She's looking for an imperfection which is pointless because that kind of thing doesn't exist with her. Best face in the world.
After her makeup is done she sprays something which I know to be called setting spray and applies a little bit of lipgloss.
I don't even know how long I've been hypnotised by her for but at some point her eyes meet mine.
"Sorry did I wake you up?" She asks innocently, walking into the bedroom to put away her makeup. As if that would ever be a problem. As if her presence would ever be an inconvenience.
"No you're good." I wave a dismissive hand in the air.
She smiles with a nod, opening the wardrobe to fish out something to wear.
"I hope everything was..okay last night?" I ask standing to my feet and walking over to her. Lean against the wall where the wardrobe is. Nothing happened. We just cuddled and watched a movie. Even though she told me it was fine last night, I still want to ask again this morning, just in case she changed her mind.
"Yeah, it was really nice actually." She looks down shyly as she closes the wardrobe door. Pair of denim shorts that stop above the knees and a white tank top in her hand.
She looks up at me with a big smile and I feel my heart start to race. That smile of hers will be the death of me. Her cute little dimples that peak out when she does smile doesn't help me either.
"So, tonight—" I start to rub the back of my neck. Nervous as fuck about this entire plan of mine. I don't even get nervous with girls but again, Sage seems to beat all odds and make the impossible possible.
"I'm taking you to dinner."
"Be ready for about eight."
"Okay." She nods. Tries to mask her excitement but I can see the big smile fighting to break out.
"Can I ask where we're going?" She tilts her head with an eyebrow raise.
"No you can't. It's a surprise." I wink leaving a hint of mystery before I walk into the bathroom to brush my teeth.
She pouts as she sits down on the edge of the bed, clothes in her hand waiting for me to be finished up in the bathroom.
"A hint at least?" She asks as I return.
