WesIt's been a fucked 24 hours. I still can't quite believe what went down. I feel extremely overprotective of Sage now. Even more so than before. Told some of the men that work for me to keep an eye out for her. Gave them a full description of what she looks like and the places she goes so they know where she is at all times in case something like this ever happens again.
It won't. I'll make sure of it. She will never be in such a situation again. I swore that to her.
I arrive home back from the emergency meeting I called for everyone that works for me. It was to inform them about what happened and to make sure they would from now on, watch out for Sage.
I was going to text her, but I figured she'd need a bit of space. It's not been long since she arrived home.
I unlock the door, placing my jacket over the banister as I walk in.
"Kane!" I call out as I walk through the hallway, ready to fill him in about the meeting.
I walk into the living room and to my surprise Sage is there. Sat on the floor with my brother, playing chest. Shays curled up on her lap which I find rather cute. He's not the friendliest at first but it seems he's quickly taking a liking to my girlfriend.
"Hey." Sage smiles as she stands up walking over to me.
"Hi." I breathe out in a bit of relief as I pull her into a hug and hold her in my arms. Never want to let her go again. Not after last night.
"How comes you're here. You okay?" I pull back a bit, pushing her curly hair behind her ear. I can tell she hasn't slept, bags under her eyes. And they're sunken. I can see the marks on the corner of her eyes from crying and it makes my heart break.
"Yeah I just—" She runs a hand through her hair, looking down at the floor. When she looks back up at me her eyes are filled with tears.
"I left. Moved out." She reveals and it's like she's dropped a huge bomb. What could have happened in a few hours that would make Sage move out. She loves her brother. They're inseparable. And there's no way he'd willing let her leave. Especially after last night.
"Why? What happened?" I take her hand in mine.
"Me and Ty argued. He thinks things are fine now. Now I have a new phone and he's upping security and confining me to the house, that everything's going to go back to normal." She shakes her head, her eyes glassy.
"But it's just not." She looks at me. Eyes pained.
"I thought he'd get it. I thought this happening would finally make him realise that leaving the gang is the best option to stop this. I thought he'd want to. But I was wrong." She looks down again. Placing her other hand on top of mine as she nervously fiddles with my fingers.
"He doesn't want to leave." She looks into my eyes again.
"I can't be in that house, knowing that." She says quietly. Her voice breaking. This is hurting her. So much.
I cup her cheek, let out a deep sigh because I feel so sorry for her. I'd give anything for her just to be happy. Hate that this is happening to her.
"I got your address from Vee and came here. I'm sorry I just didn't know where else to go and—"
I pull her into a hug once more. My hand on the back of her head.
"Don't apologise. You can stay here as long as you want. Okay?" I pull back to look at her pretty face.
She nods, her smiles small but I appreciate the attempt. "Okay."
