SageWes and I walk downstairs from the rooftop, rejoining everyone on the third level. The exhibition is over with, all of the artist are packing away their works and everyone is beginning to leave.
"I wanna show you something quickly." Wes says pulling me in the opposite direction of the group.
I follow along, walking behind as I hold his hand, letting him lead me to wherever he's going.
We stop in front of where the painting I liked was. The only thing is it's not there anymore. Probably packed away.
"Close your eyes."
"Uh why?" I look at him skeptically
"I have a surprise for you." He grins.
I smile closing my eyes. I hear footsteps. Two. Not just wes'. He then places something in my hands. It's fairly small but it's heavy. I can hold it in my hands, doesn't take up too much space but weighs a lot.
"Open."
I do as instructed, look at him and then look down at what's in my hands. My mouth falls open with shock and I gasp as I see the painting that I loved in my hands.
"What—how—"
"I bought it for you. It's now all yours to hang up in your room." He smiles proudly.
"Wes!" I can't believe he's done this.
"This must of been so expensive!"
He doesn't respond but I can tell by his subtle look down and scratch of his neck that it was.
"Thank you so much!" I could cry. I throw my arms over him hugging him tightly. I'm in awe that he would do this for me.
"You're welcome." He rubs my back gently as I pull back to look at his face.
Hug him again excitedly and I feel him laugh Into my neck. The vibrations tickling me.
"Let me hold it for you." He gently takes the painting out of my hands. Holds it with one hand whilst his other takes my hand. His muscles bulging through his shirt as he holds the painting effortlessly.
"You guys ready?" Kane asks as the group approach us.
I nod happily. The group begin to walk down the stairs. Wes and I follow, hand in hand.
"What restaurant?" Wes asks as we all get outside. Hand still in mine. I'm too busy squealing with Valentina about the painting. Turns out she knew he was going to buy it and she too was freaking out as much as I am now.
"34 Mayfair?" Vee suggests.
I haven't been there but the others all nod.
We then all filter into our separate cars. Wes getting the door for me so I can get in. The drive is a short one and the entire time I'm staring at him. I can't rack my brain around how I feel such a strong connection after knowing him for such a short period of time.
