Sage"Let me drive you." Wes insists, combing through his his hair in the mirror.
"You have a meeting." I remind.
"I don't care. I'll miss it." He looks at me through the mirror.
"Don't."
"I can drive. Your security will be following behind me anyways it's fine." I assure, walking to him and placing a gentle hand on his shoulder.
He turns to look at me, his hands finding their way to my waist.
"I'd rather be with you so I can make sure you're safe."
"Is that you overtly saying you don't trust your own security team?" I joke, tilting my head a little. I'm trying to lighten the mood a bit.
He rolls his eyes, sniffing a laugh.
"Text me, once you're in the car, once you get to uni, when you're on your way back—"
I cut him off with a kiss, hoping that will at least calm his evident nerves.
It does. Only slightly. He settles a bit. Shoulders not so hunched. Jaw no longer tight.
"I will." I smile up at him.
He cups my cheeks, sighs a little. "Kane and I will be back home at two."
"Okay." I nod.
He looks into my eyes deeply, I can tell he's still worried.
"Let one of my guys drive with you." He instructs.
I nod. "Which one?"
"Ryle." I've met him briefly. He helped carry some of my things into Wes' house when I first arrived. Very nice.
"Okay." I smile again.
"I'll see you later." I give Wes one last kiss before I make my way out of the bedroom.
I slip on my coat as I bound down the stairs, pulling my shoes on afterwards. I grab my car key and house key that Wes gave me and leave.
"Good morning Ryle. Ready to go?" I smile politely at the man stood by the door.
"Good morning Sage. Before we go, there's someone here to see you. Do you know him?" He points to where my car is and it's then that I see another car parked up. Rays stood next to it, looking at me with a hopeful smile.
I look back at Ryle. "Yes, I know him."
"Do you want him here or do you want us to remove him? Wes' orders are to not let anyone on the premises unless him, Kane or you say it's okay." Ryle recites.
I look back to Ray, my heart pinging a bit.
"He can stay." I say quieter than I wanted to.
Ryle nods at me and then directs his nod to the other security men. I watch as they move away from Ray's car, stepping out of the way.
"I'll be five minutes." I tell before walking to meet Ray.
"Hey kid." He smiles as I get to him.
"Hi Ray." I give him a small smile.
He looks behind me at the house. Eyes scanning it up and down. And then he looks to the security men who are all looking back at him. Hands on guns ready in case anything happens.
"So. You're staying here now?"
"Yeah." I nod.
His eyes meet mine. He sighs.
