Sage"Happy birthday Sagey!" My brother smiles as he holds out a card and box of cinnamon buns in his hands.
"Ty!" I laugh shaking my head as I get out of bed and hug him. He always makes sure I start my birthday off with a smile. Does this every year.
"Thank you." I pull away, taking the card from his hand and reading it. Not the best with words my older brother, but he always puts in an effort on my birthday and I appreciate it so much.
"Your best one yet, almost have no spelling mistakes." I tease as I place my card down on my bedside table, sitting back down on my bed. He playfully flips me off.
"Can I take one now?" I ask nodding towards the box of cinnamon buns, hands already out to grab them.
"No, not yet. When we get downstairs you can." He pulls the box away from me and I pout, displeased that I'm being withheld from my own food on my own birthday.
"I just want one!" I groan flinging my head back dramatically.
"Twenty four today and you still act two. Come on, get up let's go." Ty orders.
"Fine." I huff, swinging my legs off the edge of my bed and standing to my feet once more. I follow Ty out of my room and down the stairs.
When we get into the kitchen I see that it's all decorated. A birthday banner and birthday balloons everywhere, from floating around the room to all over the floor. There's a few bouquets of flowers, the fancy kind. A card is attached to one, I know it's from Ray because I recognise his writing.
Two more cards along with his which I know to be his kids writing. I smile to myself at the thought of them doing this for me. And the thought of Ray going out of his way to drop it off last night so I'd wake up to it in the morning.
The table is set and laid with all of my favourite breakfast foods, the presentation only being able to be done by the one and only Pierre. He even arranged my breakfast cupcakes so they spell out happy birthday.
"Ty, this is too much!" It's only early and I already feel like crying. I'm just grateful it's tears of happiness.
"Never." He smiles proudly.
"Thank you so much!" I hug him again. Tightly. My one constant in my life. My big brother who does everything for me. Who I'm beyond grateful for.
"Should we eat?" I ask, picking up the first card and opening it. A smile appearing on my face as I read the words from Ray.
"Yeah. Pierre made you a full English, left it in the microwave. I'll heat it up." Ty states walking to the microwave.
I nod, as I continue to go through my cards. Smiling each time.
I walk to my flowers, admiring them a little.
I stop at a bouquet of Pink roses that I know for a fact are from JJ. He never leaves a card with his name on it, but he gets me the same flowers every year. I only know they're from him because there's always a little note inside that says "for little sagey." Doesn't take that much to guess who it is.
