"Oh, come on, love," Ed chuckled, "You know you're the only girl I love, always have been and always will be."

I huffed, leaning on the railing of the wooden ship as we stood on board.

"Yeah, I see the way you looked at her," I remarked bluntly, refusing to glance at him.

"No, not like that," Ed hastily clarified. "I mean, her body was glowing, and that's the first time I've seen a star in that form." I finally glanced at him, raising my eyebrows at his explanation.

"So, you were admiring her body, then?" I asked, my tone tinged with annoyance and a touch of skepticism.

"What? Yes, I mean no, not in the way you think," he rambled, tilting his head up with a groan before meeting my gaze again.

"But that's not the point," he began, his tone earnest. "The point is, Caspian can have her because I've already found my own star. A girl with hair as white as starlight, framing her face so beautifully," he concluded, his thumb gently caressing my cheek. I fought back a smile, feeling the warmth spread across my cheeks at his words.

"Didn't know you were the cheeky type of person, Pevensie," I giggled, teasing him lightly. He let out an exasperated huff in response.

Our light-hearted banter shifted into a somber focus as we made our way to the main deck.

"So, what do you think is in there?" the Minotaur asked, breaking the tension that enveloped us.

"Our worst nightmares," Ed responded gravely, our eyes fixed on the looming Dark Island. Caspian's voice added to the solemnity, "Our darkest wishes."

"Pure evil," Drinian stated firmly, taking charge. "Tavros, unlock the armory," he ordered, and the Minotaur immediately complied.

While Drinian organized the crew, Caspian's voice resonated amid the preparations. "Let's get ready."

We nodded in unison before dispersing to our respective rooms, Lucy gently guiding Gael beside her.

As I entered my cabin, I swiftly readied myself. Finding no armor that fit my frame, I settled for a dark blue leather vest layered over a loose-fitting blouse.

Standing before the mirror, I gathered my wavy white locks into a mid-ponytail, steadying myself as I met my reflection, bracing for the challenge ahead.

As my gaze lingered on the mirror, a coil of unease tightened within me. The reflection that stared back twisted into a sinister smirk, a malevolence that felt foreign-mocking, at odds with my own emotions. I squeezed my eyes shut, desperate to erase the image, and shook my head in disbelief. When I dared to look again, the distortion had vanished, leaving only a lingering chill of unease.
