Book 1:
"I love you, Rocky." He chuckled, licking his lips. I rolled my eyes. "I love your crazy ass too, Treasure."
Treasure Pierce
My hands hurt like hell as I got ready to finish the last half of hair on her head, and not to mention the chair that my ass was sitting on didn't help much either.
I usually liked to have my piece and quiet as I did hair in my apartment, but when it came down to Toni, I had to have one headphone in and the other one out because she had to run her mouth about the latest gossip going around in the hood.
"You remember Savannah right?"
I squinted my eyes as I stretched my hand and figured I had about ten more braids left before she could leave and I could go to bed and get ready for work. She knew I knew Savannah. Savannah was a girl that was my best friend in high school.
"Yeah," I spoke keeping it short.
"I heard she was out in New Orleans doing god know what? I heard she was out there dating a married man and everything." I rolled my eyes knowing everything this bitch was saying was a lie. I honestly didn't even understand why she was sitting here even discussing her in the first place, but I held my tongue.
I didn't say anything back to her.
"I'm sorry girl, I forgot you and Savanah were friends in high school..."
"I bet you did," I spoke.
"Girl I really did. But y'all ain't friends no more huh?"
I rolled my eyes. "I don't really wanna talk about Savannah, especially if she's not here to defend herself, Toni."
She didn't say anything else and I was happy about that. I continued to braid her hair, hoping that would give her a hint that I didn't want to even go there with her. That I wanted her to shut up. Savannah and I were very much friends but that was none of her damn business.
One hours later and I was officially done with her box braids. She stood up grabbing her purse before glancing at me with a pathetic look on her face.
"You know I really didn't mean anything by what I sai--"
"Eighty five," I spoke watching as she huffed and pulled the money out of her pocket to give to me.
I didn't want to hear any of that bullshit she had to say. It was as if she always had a slick comment to say and I hadn't been in the mood for that lately. Maybe because of Rocky, or maybe because of the simple fact I had been braiding her hair for long enough.
I watched as she walked out of my apartment and before she could say anything to me, I slammed the door in her face, and hit the door myself, exhaling.

Relaxing in the bathtub, I flexed my muscles tired as hell. Not only did I braid Toni's hair, but three other girls hair. Shit, I was more than tired. I was exhausted. I had work in the morning too and I was praying that Rocky would be over his bullshit by then. I heard my phone ringing and grabbed it from off of the toilet seat cover. It was my mother.
