Treasure Pierce
"Is everything together?" I questioned. I was so busy today that it was beyond crazy. I just wanted everything to go right for Teighlor today. "Yes everything's fine. All the decorations are in place."
"Okay thank you Trina," I spoke to the event planner o had gotten for my sisters baby shower. It was suppose to be all white everything and I just hoped everything was really up to par. I hung up my phone and walked into my mothers bedroom seeing that her physical therapist was present, Jordan. "Hey Jordan," I spoke. He was coming out of the room with a frustrated look. "Hey Treasure. We need to talk about your mother."
"What's going on?" I asked.
I knew my mom had been being a bother but I hoped he wasn't giving up. "She is not responding well and she doesn't want to do anything. She constantly throws things and gets out of order. I'm sorry but I can't do this anymore. I've been trying to continue with her but she doesn't want to get better."
"Please is the—"
She grabbed her purse closer to her. "I'm sorry I just can't. I'll put my note in and everything and you should look into another physical therapist. Again, I'm very sorry Treasure. I'm sorry," she whined.
I didn't say anything. I just rolled my eyes and watched as she left. "Momma What's the issue?"
I walked into her room seeing that she was sitting on the floor crying. Glass was everyone on the ground. I saw that she had broken the vase that Rocky had picked up for her and along with it was water and flowers and its petals covering the ground. "Momma are you Okay?" I bent down trying to help her up but she pushed me away. She was in tears and mostly upset. I had never saw my mother like this.
"Leave me alone!"
"No let me help you," I spoke pulling her up by her arms on the bed. "Momma I know this is bad. I do but you gotta get yourself together for today. Teighlor really wants you there."
"Well I'm, I am not going."
I looked at her and shook my head. "Momma your life isn't over?"
She rolled her eyes and pushed her head to the bed, aggravated. I watched as she grabbed her pills from the side of the bed and grabbed two before taking them without no water. She sat her pill bottle back down. So I just left. I didn't know how Teighlor was gonna take the news but I had no choice but to tell her.
I dialed my sisters number, and put my phone on my ear. It went straight to voicemail. I shook my head and just left because I had many errands to run before my sisters baby shower. Walking down the stairs of my apartment, my phone started to ring. It was an unknown number so I picked up because it could've been my father. "Hello?"
I heard shuffling before they spoke. "Hello, Treasure?!"
"Grandma?"
"Hey Baby. I heard about your mothers incidence. I wanted to come by and see her and offer my help," she responded. Our relationship with my grandmother was pretty much nonexistent. We all knew her but barely at all. We never went around my grandmother much and we never knew the history behind her and the fallout that appeared between my mother and her.
"Um, I don't know. She's not really up for visitors right now grandma."
"Baby let me help! Your brother called me and I know it's very small over there and I have a much bigger house we're she can come and her kids," she spoke. I got into my car and just sat there. I met my grandmother a couple of times and she was always persistent. Nothing ever marked me as a problem with her but now I see it. She was putting herself in something that she had no business and my brother somehow was mixed up in it.
