If you have any problems with reading things concerning people being gay or bisexual, or will have problems with those scenes. I suggest you read, but in the future go over them or simply do not read at all.
The flashbacks are what happened during the year and six month jump so if, read the flashbacks, I wouldn't recommend skipping them.
Rocky Emerson
"So you over her?"
"I didn't say all that nigga," he laughed and I joined him as I pushed the buggy onto another aisle. I was looking for a specific type of drink but I was having trouble finding it. I opened the door. "I'm just saying I need to get into something. It's been a while." I grabbed the beer hearing someone yell on the next aisle. "I bet nigga."
"Hold on Chance," I spoke listening to the woman's voice yelling. "You don't do anything right. And you think I should let you move out here and continue this dream of being a fashion designer or stylist? You aren't going to be shit with your fat ass. So don't let me hear you say shit else about that in my ear please and thank you. Now I'm going to get the chips. You just stay right here and I'll be right back, Aniya."
I turned the aisle, seeing the older woman walk off and the girl getting on her phone texting away as her face was turning red. I acted like I was grabbing something as she looked up and glared at me. "What? I know you only came over here to be nosy. Mind your business."
I looked at her and shook my head. "You too pretty for the attitude you got. I was just coming over here to see if you were good cause I heard her talking to you bat shit crazy but that extra shit doing. I'm not with it so..."
Grabbing my arm, I turned back around. "No wait. I'm sorry. Let's start over. My name is Aniya, and I'm twenty years old. And you are?" She spoke biting down on her lip.
I laughed at the Look she was giving me but nodded anyway. "Rocky. And you're twenty years old letting your mother talk to you like that? You crazy."
She shook her head. "You look so familiar to me, but my mother she's not someone I can go toe to toe with and plus some of the things she's saying is right. Things will be ten times harder for me in the career than I'm going for and I'm over—"
I looked down at her. "Your not overweight. Your thick and I don't see an issue with that and neither should you."
She blushed and I could tell she was use to being treated like a teenager and honestly the shit didn't bother me that much. It kind of annoyed me because I wasn't use to it but I liked it too. It was something about her that was grabbing my attention. "Thank you. No one has ever been that nice to me like ever. How old are you?"
"Twenty-two."
She took my phone out of my hand and dialed her number and saved it before giving it back. "Well text me," she spoke seeing her mother come back. "You should go, but it was nice meeting you Rocky."
"Nice meeting you too, Aniya."
"Daddy, bye bye," she spoke.
I smiled, "Bye princess," and put her into her seat before closing the backseats door. I made sure that she was in her seat right and that she had her Barbie doll before closing the door and coming face to face with Amillie. She had a look of sadness on her face and I was kind of worried about her because Amillie wasn't no bad person she was good. "Everything good?"
