He's glad he's inside of a room now, with the windows closed. The bite of winter chill was hard to shake off, but there were lit candles and incense burning in the room, a floral aroma emanating and warmth embracing Sekiro's body.

He knelt in front if his master, who was observing a shrine of sorts.

"I have come to receive you, My Lord." said wolf with a bow.

His master was a child, that spoke with a soft voice and an even softer heart.

"You have fought long and hard to come here, Wolf." Started Kuro, kneeling down in front of him.

The fact that his master respected him as an equal made his heart clench, he really was too kind.

"Let us leave Ashina." Wolf said, intent on finishing the mission he failed.

The boy shook his head, a sad smile playing on his features.

"Loyal Wolf, there are too many people in this land that are drunk over the power of my blood. They plague this land. This power harms their minds. I wish to sever the ties of Immortality. I implore you, help me along this journey." Kuro, the divine child asks.

'Father....' Sekiro thought back on the iron code made by his father before answering.

"I cannot. I am sworn to protect you, My Lord."

Kuro kneeled in front of his shinobi.

"How many times did you die for me? Once? Twice?.... Or is it a number so great it cannot be counted?"

"....."

"I do not wish to bind you to this land forever, it would be cruel for me to do so. The immortal oath is one that leaves men seduced. It deviates them from their path, and corrupts them, shreds them of their humanity. Please Wolf, I cannot do this alone." Kuro pleaded as he knelt in front of Wolf.

"By your command." Wolf gave in seeing his Lord's eyes.

"Alright! Now to go about severing immortality, Lord Takeru must have some texts about it. He was the Divine Heir before me. I'll look for them in the castle's library. You go and talk to Lord Isshin in the tower nearby."

Wolf walked upstairs to the balcony he fought Genichiro, in the stairwell stood Emma.

"I take it you spoke with Lord Kuro then?"

"I did. He told me to go see Isshin. He wishes to sever the ties of immortality."

Wolf noticed Emma grimace at those words even if only for an instant. He filed that away for later.

"Isshin-sama likes to go for walks often. If he isn't in the castle, you'd find him near the castle gates."

"Walks, eh? Thank you for the information. I'll be back."

The neighboring castle wasnt too far. Following the nightjar smoke, a bright pink color that nightjar shinobi use to keep track of routes, he got to the castle quickly.

He didn't find Isshin there. A note left instead.

Dear Emma,

The Ashina Castle Gate has grown loud with the sound of scurrying. The Tengu will see to the rats. Worry not.

Isshin.

'Rats?... Tengu? Has he grown senile or something? Emma said to look at the castle gates. I'll go there I suppose.'
