The cosmos once birthed a pair of lovers. Not related, yet twins all the same
Of different fathers and one mother, yet the cosmos saw fit to link them for their love
Gemini was their united name. One who would gather, given time, enough fame
As the Gemini starts to flicker, Pollux and Castor share one last wish from aboveThe dying twin stars have spent the remainder of their energy birthing a new pair of twins
Successors to the Gemini name. A love of true souls bound together, regardless of their matter
Gemini dies happy and explodes. Leaving nourishment for the newborns to have their fill-ins
The two grow strong and hearty. One, in particular, was always seen eating more than the latterHe was Polluxi, the big-eater of the two. A boy whose hunger knew no stops nor bounds
He would eat everything. Space dust, rocks, icy blocks, even light itself would serve as his drink
"Liquid light, huh? Just how strong do you have to be to turn it into actual weighty pounds?"
Castoria, the thin twin, said to her brother. "Of what you eat, does it matter what I think?"Polluxi apologized soon after finishing his special meal. Said to make him stronger and bigger
"Castoria, I need to eat enough to protect you from the cosmos' dangers. Be the shinning twin"
Castoria just sighed, as she did every other time she asked him about it. It was her "tic" trigger
"Just make sure to leave some for me. I, too, have to eat enough to keep my radiant skin"And so the two continued to bicker and eat what was left for them. Until it eventually ran out
The two stopped growing and hunger began increasing. But something made them doubt it
If all was eaten, they should have reached full growth. But there was so little to talk about
The two pondered this enigma, but reached no answers. Their bodies were still dimly lit"How can we not be the shiniest bodies in the universe? We have eaten all but the horizons"
Castoria wondered the cause of their halted development but, to no avail, she was sadly stuck
Polluxi then proposed a scouting for more food. Someone would share with foreign sons
Castoria hesitated, asking him where would they go, but she agreed on having a little luckSo, the hungry and puzzled twins set out into the vast space. Hopping on finding good food
After a little traveling, Castoria asked Polluxi something that would bring about a new mystery
Something that would leave them confused and scared of their own bodies matter's certitude
"Hey, Polluxi. Have you ever wondered what we are made of? Are we made off of history?""Were we created out of nothingness, or born from the remains of the cosmos' wishes?"
Polluxi was dumbfounded by these questions, but he soon paid them no heed nor call
"Castoria, we can see ourselves. Our bodies. We saw each other grow alongside the fishes"
"Yes, I know. But Taurus and Cancer grew like normal too. Also, Pisces was not near us at all""Look. When we reach a star system, we are going to ask the locals if they know us, alright?"
"They will know a thing or two about us. Especially the elder stars. They know everything"
"I guess so." Castoria worried about their origins, but she was also seeking to stay the night
"Darkness may be, but shine on. Shine as far as light goes. Shine so tomorrow may bring""Castoria, you do know that there is not such a thing as night and day out here in space, right?"
"It is not that. Rather, I want to let others know that we are coming into their space rapidly"
"Yeah. I would not want to get blinded by us either. That would bring our light to fright"
"But look! We are almost to the local cluster! So, let us leave a talk turning most vapidly"Sure enough, the twins reach a cluster of stars named after Taurus, their neighbor
This cluster contained tons of rough n' tough individuals. Aptly, given their home
Castoria, a little worried, started asking questions about the place with words of tremor
"Um... Hello. I am Castoria of the Gemini group. Would you mind talking about our genome?"
