in which you graduate, and your parents aren't there but chris is, along with matt and nick

y/n's pov
today was the day. i was finally graduating. i've been working so hard for years, for this moment. and now it's finally happening. i was at my house getting ready, and then i was gonna drive over to where our ceremony was being held. chris told me he would meet me there, along with nick and matt. i was hoping my parents would show up, we didn't have the best relationship and they didn't come to alot of my events, so i was hoping they'd at least come to my graduation.

i finished up my hair and makeup, before grabbing what i needed and making my way out to my car. i drove to the place where our graduation was being held, before grabbing my stuff and walking inside. i met up with some of my friends, taking pictures and putting on my cap and gown. they separated us into our lines and we waited for our signal to start walking out. eventually we started walking out, and we walked out to our music, but also a bunch of people cheering for us.

i looked around and i saw chris, along with nick and matt. chris made eye contact with me and gave me the biggest smile, and i gave him a smile back. i kept looking around and i didn't see my parents anywhere, causing my smile to immediately drop. one of my most important days of my life, and they aren't even here. i sat down in my seat, and waited for everyone to get situated. we sat through the boring speeches from everyone, and eventually it was time to hand out diplomas.

i watched my friends get their diplomas, and eventually it was my rows turn to get up and get in line. name after name was called, and finally i was up next. "y/n y/l/n!" they announced, and i walked across, accepting my diploma. "that's my girl!" i heard chris yell, making my smile come back, just a little. eventually the ceremony had ended, and now we were all outside, and everyone was finding their families. i walked around and found chris and he was smiling at me, and i walked up to him with a frown on my face.

"i know baby, come here," he said, opening his arms. he knew exactly why i was upset. i hugged him and tears started falling, and i placed my head in the crook of his neck. "i just wanted them here for one day," i cried. "i know baby," he rubbed my back. "it's like they don't care about me, they can't just be supportive for 10 minutes," i said, and chris kept rubbing my back. "i know baby, i'm not their biggest fan right now either, but i am so so proud of you baby, and nick and matt are too," he kissed my head.

i pulled away from chris to see nick and matt standing there, and i went and hugged them both. "we're so proud of you, y/n," they said. "i love you guys so much," i wiped my eyes. "we love you too," they said, and chris pulled me into another hug. "how about we go celebrate my girl? get your pretty little mind off of what's making you upset, okay?" chris said, and i nodded. "okay," i smiled. he leaned down and kissed me, "i'm seriously so proud of you my love, so fucking proud." he said. "i love you," i said, giving him another kiss.

this was 100% another vent post. not abt my parents not being there but about them not caring. my house has been such a struggle to live in the past couple days, but i'm getting through it :,).
