"I'm going to go." Merida quickly got and started gathering things in a bag.

"Now!?" Elinor rose up quickly.

"Yes!" I can't let it one day go by, his birthday is soon approaching and if I don't get to him soon we will run out of time."

"He will turn into a beast forever?"

"Yes. But I won't let that happen."

"I understand..but what about your father?"

"My father?...." Merida face fell at the mention of her dad.

"Look hold on for a bit until nightfall and you'll be able to sneak out. I'll handle him after."

"Thank you!"

The two hugged contently.

Elinor paced back and forth nervously.

"Lass, are you alright?"

Startled by her husband voice she let out a small yelp.
Which she got a small chuckle from Fergus.

"What's troubling you dear?"

Elinor stood in silence contemplating in what to say. She had never kept a secret from her husband. Doubts came rushing in. What if Merida got hurt. She also vowed to help her daughter. After all she had confided in her from her heart. She felt trapped but she was mainly concerned in her daughter's safety. Maybe fergus will understand if I tell him calmly..maybe he can help Merida break the curse.

"Fergus...there's something I have to tell you."

Merida heard footsteps getting closer to her room. By the sounds of it, it sounded like her father.

"Merida!"

Her door burst opened and there stood her father with a stern expression on his face. Merida looked towards her mother. Elinor gave her an apologetic look.

"I'm sorry Merida, but please understand as your mother I worry about your safety. I support you but once I told your father, I thought he would understand and help you but..."

"Help her! Of course I'm going to help her! She's my daughter! She's been bewitched by some beast! In love! Enchantments! Friends!? Once I get my hands on that beast I will crush every bone in his body and make sure his dead!"

"No! Dad please listen to me! It's not what it seems! His actually nice and gentle! We were wrong from the beginning!"

"I promise when I get back from killing that monster, we will find a cure for you!"

"Dad! No! There's nothing wrong with me!"

Merida rushed and grabbed her father's arm before he had turn to leave.
"STOP! Please! Just listen!" Merida cried out in desperation.

"Fergus. Fergus! Listen to your daughter!" Elinor blocked the doorway, which surprised Fergus.

"I know you're worried my lady but I will be back and we will attend to Merida."

"You aren't listening Fergus!"

"I don't need to hear more. I know what is wrong and it's that monster! Keep Merida locked in and look after her while I return with his head."

"NO!" Merida ran to her father grabbing with into his arm.

"Stay put lass!" Fergus without reason, shoved his daughter towards her bed. Grabbing his wife and taking her out of the room.

"Maudie!"

The house servant came running down the hallway and quickly showed the chief the key. Fergus took it from her hand and turned around, locking Merida's door.

"You're in charge of this Maudie, don't give this to anyone else but me, if not you're kicked out of this house. Understood!?"

The servant nervously nodding, shoving the key between her chest.

"Fergus!? What do think you're doing? Are you mad!?"

Wait for my return my queen and we will settle this. I promise the avenge my daughter by any means necessary."

Elinor stared at her husband in disbelief. One thing she knew about him is that he was truly devoted and loyal to his family. She loved him for that but how she wished he could listen first. Now she understood her daughter desperation in her her to listen.

"Please Fergus...don't do anything you'll regret..."
Elinor pleaded, looking straight at Fergus.

"It has to be done. The safety of my love ones comes first."

Without another word he turned around and called out to his soldiers.

"Round up the clans as well! We got a monster to kill."
