Two weeks later...
The sound of heavy punches echoed through the gym air. It was 7 am on a Friday morning and there was no one in sight but a slender female figure in the dim light of the gym.
Four hours... since i've been here...
"Hah!"
What... was i doing here again...?
One punch after another. The girl threw one last finishing punch before bringing both her hands to the punching bag. She huffed, tiredly as she laid her head on the red hanging bag. Sweat ran down her forehead as she adjusted her waistband and looked up at the blinding light hanging above her head. A phone rang through the silence.
Y/n looked over her shoulder, blinking the sweat away from her eyes. She walked over to the bench behind her, rummaging through her things, searching blindly for her phone. Y/n used her forearm to wipe the sweat off her brow. Her hand wrapped around the phone and she pulled it out from under all her things in her duffle bag.
Y/n's tired eyes looked over the bright screen of her phone that she noticed still had full battery since she hadn't used it properly in days.
'Who could be bothering to call me at this time--'
Y/n froze, her mind wanted to be surprised, but the thought of the responsibilities her father had imposed on her were far greater than her want to talk with this person.
'Zack...' Y/n shook her head, tossing her phone to the side as she snatched her water bottle from the bench and drank water. Y/n, now distracted, felt her shoulders tense up. 'Dammit.. no. Training. I have to train.' Y/n put away the botte and returned to the punching bag.
Y/n stood in front of the worn out crimson punching bag. Y/n's eyes wandered over the dents that covered the surface of the bag. Then she swung left.
One, two--
She swung right.
One, two--
She sung right again, then left, then right-- Then a series of attack combinations. Y/n felt a voice echo in the back of her mind.
Y/n...?
Y/n swerved her body to the left, swinging her leg past the punching bag, then slamming it back, the impact of the kick pushing the back in a heavy swing.
Y/n?
She heard again.
Wake up, goofball...
Y/n's jaw tightened, her teeth grinding against together in frustration. The impact on the bag got heavier with each hit. Y/n's vision clouded. Y/n swung her foot as fast and as hard as she could. "AURGH-!" Y/n felt her foot slide over sweat that had fallen from her body. Y/n's foot never reached the bag and her body fell back onto the ground. With a loud boom, Y/n felt the back of her head and left elbow slam onto the ground.
Y/n... we're here. Haha, seriously. Wake up.!
A light flashed over Y/n's eyes. Before she knew it, she was there again. She was back at her school. In front of J High, Y/n felt like she couldn't believe she was there again. Y/n looked at her feet. She was wearing her school tennis shoes, her school uniform and a bag weighed over her back.
Y/n looked back at the J High building, the bright blue sky behind J High was almost to bright and beautiful to be true. Y/n felt her eyes well with tears. But before a single tear could drop from her eyes, Y/n felt a hand wrap around her own.
