Chapter 62: Impending Breach

Briar and the boys continue to use their magic to stop the Charon Soldiers from attacking them. But everytime they defeat some, more of them arrive to attack them.

Leona expresses his frustration, "Tch! We keep dropping 'em, but more just keep coming!"

Then one of the technicians says, "20 more power armors inbound!"

"Hmm..." Azul thinks for a minute and says, "Maybe I was too hasty in rejecting Ortho's invitation. Perhaps it would've been smarter to pursue a blue ocean strategy in their new world."

"What?! Are you nuts?!" Briar exclaims in shock.

Even Riddle is shocked, "Are you mad?! Their new world would be teeming with blot, and Phantoms would run rampant! How long do you think it would take to rebuild society to the point where you could run a business?!"

Then Vil says, "As the housewarden of Pomefiore, the most storied dormitory in all of Night Raven College, I'll say this. Some forms of technology and beauty can only be achieved through dedicated study over time. To reset that and revert everything to nothing would be utterly beyond the pale."

Suddenly, the female technician says, "Power armors are 100 meters away and closing fast!"

"Can anyone else here fight?!" Jamil questions.

The male technician says, "Most of us working at Styx aren't mages. They hire people with small magic pools because we're less likely to go out of control from blot exposure."

"Well, that does make sense," Leons says.

"Ortho's got control of all our technomantic weapons. None of them will turn on," The male technican says.

"Power armors are now 30 meters away!" the female Technician says, checking the monitor, but notices something off, "...Hm? Wait, what in the world?"

"What is it?" The male technician asks.

"Three of the armors just went inactive," The female technician says. And notices something on the monitor, "Now there's more. Five, seven.... They're just stopping."

Suddenly, the Charon soldiers at front say, "Target acquired. Eliminating."

"They're here. Get ready!" Vil says, as he, Jamil, Riddle, and Briar are ready to attack.

But suddenly, a familiar voice says, "Your eyes will close, your breath will still... Crimson Slumber!"

In a matter of seconds, the Charon Soldiers are now trapped in glass cases, deactivated. That has everyone caught off guard.

And then the familiar voice says in excitement, "GOT 'EM! By golly, I absolutely nailed the targetin' this time!"

And Vil recongizes it, "I'd recognize that accent anywhere..."

And the first one to enter the room is Epel

"Vil! We finally found you!" Epel says.

Vil is surprised, but smiles, "Épel!"
