Tonight was the night the album came out. My label wanted me to project around a 500k debut but honestly, I didn't care. I did what Javon told me to do and released physicals and presave links for streaming services.
"You ready?" Zaniyah asked walking into the kitchen.
"Yeah," I said kinda nervous. Honestly, I was worried fans wouldn't like the album. But at the same time, I didn't give a fuck.
"Then why are you stressing?" She asked me.
"How am I stressing?" I asked her stressing.
"You've chewed all your nails off, drank an entire bottle of wine, and haven't stopped scrolling on Twitter." She reiterated my behavior.
"Maybe I am stressing...." I said.
I opened Twitter and everybody as expected was excited for the album. I shouldn't be too nervous because I've released two other albums before this one — but this one is different, I met a man i loved with this album, gained a stronger fanbase, and had so much fun making this album.
ALBUM OF THE YEAR TONIGHT #A3
So are we taking this album to #1 or what???
PREORDER AND PRE-SAVE THE ALBUM WITH THIS LINKEveryone seemed excited about it at least. A knock on my front door broke me out of my thoughts.
"I'll get it," Zaniyah said walking out of the kitchen to the door.
"Wassup." I heard a familiar voice say.
Javon walked into the kitchen followed by Zaniyah. He walked up and kissed me.
"I don't wanna see this shit." Zaniyah hated.
"I feel the need to say a slur." She continued giving us a nasty look.
"Where's your man at?" I asked her sassily.
"In my phone begging to take me back." She snapped back.
"Oh really? Who did he cheat on you with now?" I clapped back and she squinted at me.
She then put her phone down and rolled up her sleeves.
"Cmere Adonis, lemme show you." She said putting her hands up.
"Wait I was kidding-"
"Shutcho was up. Cmere. CMERE ADONIS." She said getting loud.
Zaniyah then stepped around the counter and got closer, but Javon stood in between us.
"Let's choose peace!" He said smiling nervously.
"Yeah okay. You lucky you bodyguard here, I should fuck you up." She said backing back up to her seat.
I didn't want none of those problems, The last time I fought, I was limping for weeks.
Javon waited until she was done with her act of hostility before stepping back and chuckling while walking to a stool.
"Are you supposed to go to the office or are they releasing the album themself?" Javon said referring to my label.
"They're doing it," I told him.
We all stayed silent on our phones for a minute before Javon's face lit up like he had an idea.
"I have an idea," Javon said looking at me and Zaniyah.
Me and I stared at him waiting for him to emancipate what he was going to say.
"Why don't you do like a little meet and greet before the release of the album —that'll get everybody listening," Javon said.
