"So explain to me what happened," Zaniyah said inspecting the bruise around my neck that Amari gave me.

"I don't know—He just walked in the studio, said he wanted 'his shit' back and choked me after I told him no," I explained.

She stopped looking at my neck and looked back up at me. She squinted her eyes and her eyes started going left to right as she was thinking.

"And what the hell did Javon do? Sit there?" She said squinting her eyes.

"He punched him twice."

"Then told me if anyone else were to touch me .. he would.." I stopped. The last part worried me because I couldn't tell if he was being literal.

"He would what?"

"Kill them," I said looking back to her worried.

She stayed silent and looked at me with the same worried look.

"Do you think he would actually?" She asked.

"I don't know.."

I wasn't too fond of the fact that Javon was willing to hurt another over me. I get it's a loyalty thing and he deeply cares about me but seriously violence gets you nowhere. It doesn't solve anything. I've only fought a few times and they were all provoked. The last time I remember fighting someone was in high school when this girl and her boyfriend had a beef with me and Zaniyah. Her fuck ass boyfriend threw a drink on me so I fucked him up—but that's a story for another day.

My phone dinged and I looked down at it. It was a text from Amari.

"Zaniyah read this message out loud i'm too scared," I said and handed her my phone.

"Adonis, I'm not playing games with you. Either you pay me 20% of what you made from the album." She stopped reading.

She looked at the phone in disbelief and disgust.

"I'm going to not only take what's mine .. but do something else that none of you are going to like. The easy or hard way, it's up to you." Zaniyah continued reading.

Chills rolled up my spine and goosebumps across my arm.

"He is not doing shit." Zaniyah scoffed and threw my phone on the bed. She had a habit of not giving a damn about threats.

"Okay, but what if he does?" I worried.

"Javon, as he said, will handle it." She smiled.

"And if Amari kills me?" I said fully aware of my paranoia.

"Adonis shut up."

"Seriously. What if he does." I started.

"Amari has shown me several times that he is not afraid to take a life nor go to jail."

"If he kills me .... he won't bat an eye." My eyes started watering a bit.

Javon walked into the room unexpectedly and looked between me and Zaniyah awkwardly.

"What 'chall in here talking about?" He asked noticing an imbalance in our energy.

"Adonis thinks Amari wants to kill him," Zaniyah said apathetically.

"What?" Javon said concerned.

I handed him my opened phone and he read the message.

"He's not doing anything to you." He said in the same tone Zaniyah knows.

"How do you know that."

"Because I—"

"What if he tries to run me over"
