A knock on my front door led me to pause the TV in front of me and yell "Coming!"

I jumped up from the couch and walked to the front door and looked through the peep hole. It was Zaniyah.

Something was already strange because Zaniyah never knocks, she'd actually rather climb through a window than knock on my door. Plus, she has a key.

I looked at the door strangely before opening it. "hey adonis." She said when I opened it.

"hey...?"

I examined her appearance, she was wearing a black fur coat, black leather pants, and sunglasses.

She walked in and made her way to my kitchen where she sat in her usual spot on the stool. "Where's Javon? I'd like him to be here." She asked.

Something just wasn't right.

"Uh— he's upstairs. Why?"

"Go get him please." She said putting her black purse in her lap. I didn't say anything, but when upstairs to my room where Javon was. I opened the door and saw him laying down on his phone.

"Javon. Zaniyahs downstairs, says she needs to tell you something." I explained quickly. He gave me a weird look but initially got up and followed me back downstairs. Zaniyah was in the same spot but turned around when she noticed us.

Me and Javon walked on different sides of the counter and looked at Zaniyah—eager on what she had to say. "So Javon." She started.

"You went to De'shawns house the other day, or so I heard." She led on.

Javon looked at me, petrified, I gave him a similar look but we turned our attention back to Zaniyah.

"uh—yeah but we didn't really do anything." He lied. "Really? then why did you go over there?" She asked.

I've known Zaniyah for a long time. A long enough time to identify what she was doing right now. What she's planning is the part that's unpredictable.

"Just wanted to talk to him." Javon lied again—looking around the room.

"Interesting, about what?" She asked unzipping her purse and reaching in. She very obviously gripped something in her bag but didn't pull it out.

I felt chills roll up my spine and goosebumps down my arm, Zaniyah truly was something to be scared off.

"well—"

"—Because I went over there and his house looked ransacked." She cut him off. "I also noticed he has some bruises and things of the sort." She said.

She knows.

"Oh well uh... it wasn't like that when I went over there." He lied terribly. His pathetic attempts at convincing Zaniyah he didn't do anything were languishing right before my eyes.

"Hm..." She said, pulling her hand out the bag, in her hand was a gun. Her signature gun.

She put the weapon on the counter and Javons eyes glued down to it. "Was it like that when you left?" She then asked. "No..." Javon said—still looking at the gun.

"Okay, the next lie will result in me fucking you up." She said picking up the weapon and cocking it back.

"Okay wait Zaniyah—" I started but she cut me off. "Adonis shut the fuck up, let him explain himself.

"I.. trashed De'shawns house." He admitted. Quickly, Zaniyah stood up and pointed the weapon at him.

"Zaniyah wait!" I pleaded. "Nah why you attacking my man now?" She said loudly with the cold metal of the gun pointed directly at Javons chest.

"Because of what happened at the movies!" Javon said swiftly, clearly scared for his life. "The fuck happened at the movies?! I swear to god if you lie you will lose yo life nigga!" She yelled.

"He was flirting with Adonis when we left them alone!" He admitted. Zaniyahs face contorted in confusion then she spoke.

"Are you lying?" She asked getting closer to him. "Ask Adonis." He said.

She looked over to me and I just stared at her, dreading the question. "Is this true? De'shawn did some shit on you?" She asked.

I nodded my head yes, shy of what her next move was. "fuck." He mumbled. "I really wanted to fuck you up Javon. Next time though.." He said lowering the gun down. She sat back in her seat and Javon let out a built up inhale of relief.

"What all did he tell you?" Javon asked. It was a valid question because if Zaniyah thinks everything was Javons fault then the story De'shawn told was fabricated.

"He said you wrecked his shit and beat his ass because you felt like it."

"that's not what happened, I wouldn't ever do that, especially to someone I know you know." Javon explained genuinely.

She looked at him then up at me. "He really hit on you, Adonis?" She asked.

"....yeah." I said quietly.

"Why didn't you tell me?" She whined. "because you would react irrationally, just like how you just did. I would like to keep you out of jail." I explained.

I have no idea if she realizes it but she doesn't think off her mind when she's angered. She does what her emotions tell her too, she would kill someone without a second thought.

"What? when have I ever acted irrationally besides now?" She asked—confident that she hasn't done anything.

"when you ran a family of ducks over because you claimed they were taking too long to cross the street." I recalled.

"Okay well—"

"—or in high school when you threw your shoe at a teacher because she never gave you a paper." I said breaking down more memories.

"I was in high school that doesn't count—"

"—or when you got arrested for assault with a deadly weapon." I continued.

"I could go on and on Zaniyah."

"Okay! I get it." She said. "But that doesn't mean I would've done anything outrageous this time." She lied.

"Zaniyah the last time somebody tried to hit on me you threatened them." I recalled.

"I had a valid reason so that doesn't count." She laughed and I laughed with her.

"What are you gonna do with De'shawn?" I asked.

She let out a long sigh and buried her head in her hands. "I'm gonna break up with him." She said.

"Are y'all gonna stay broken up or are you going to get back together with him?" I said referring to their incessant breaking up and getting back together.

"I'm done with him. For real." She said.

"He will be dealt with as well." She added on. I gave her a look and she chuckled.

"Adonis seriously though, don't hide anything like this from me. I could've killed Javon just now." She said motioning to Javon who stood there—still shaken.

"I will." I told her honestly.

"Good."

She stood up and walked over to me, embracing me in a hug. "I love you, Adonis."

"I love you too, Zaniyah." I said hugging her back.
