I Woke up as a Charmander!

Chapter 20: Charlie's Big Party!

As Charlie opened his blue eyes, he found himself laying on a comfortable bedding in the Healing Centre.

What happened?! How did I end up being knocked out?!

He also shrieked with shock at the sight of his changed body. His scales were crimson red, his body was leaner, his claws on his feet were larger and looked sharper, and his claws on his hands were a lot larger and he now had only three claws on each of them. When he touched the back of his head, he found it was occupied by a long spike.

Then he remembered what happened. He fought against Jack the Wartortle and won the battle.... Finally! He ended up evolving in the process into a Charmeleon. He fainted after Jack did, from his newly found power disappearing from his body. He was also was perplexed about why his body was red. After all, his mother, who was a Charizard had orange scales like he did had, when he was a Charmander.

His shriek has clearly alerted Nurse Faith to rush to his side, as she was worried that something have happened to him.

"Charlie!" Cried Nurse "Are you okay?!"

"I'm fine." Replied Charlie, fiddling with his new spike at the back of his head with his three claws on his right hand. "Just the sight of my evolved body was a shock."

Nurse Faith let out a sigh of relief. "Thank Arceus! Don't scare me like that!"

"Sorry." Whimpered Charlie.

"Anyways, yes I imagine it must be shocking finding that you suddenly so different after evolving. Are you having any muscle pain, any headaches?"

"No" said Charlie truthfully.

"Your family and your girlfriend, Leaf would like to visit you while you are in here, to congratulate you on your victory in the tournament and your evolution." Nurse Faith smiled.

She turned her head to Jack the Wartortle laying in his bedding. He was awake, but not quite fully aware yet. He was groaning with frustration over his loss.

"You might want to shake hands with Jack over there before seeing your loved ones, It was an amazing final battle, and it would be a respectful thing to do. But fi..."

"No! Why would I shake hands with a bully?!" Growled Charlie abruptly.

"I haven't finished my sentence!" said Nurse Faith, alarmed.

"You need to be healed with a quick Heal Pulse from me first before seeing Jack. And I think that if you shake hands with Jack, he will truly be changed forever in terms of personality. He may never even bully you anymore!"

Charlie's breathing slowed down as he calmed, imagining a Wartortle who was nice and respectful to him.

As Nurse Faith held up her small pink arms, Charlie spoke abruptly.

"Nurse Faith, why did I faint after beating Jack?! I thought I had all the power in the world!

"That's quite normal Charlie." Said Nurse Faith sweetly. "You see, after a Pokémon evolve by buildup of magic, they receive a large boost of power and energy, allowing them to knock out their opponents even when them themselves were on the verge of fainting before the evolution. However, after a short period, that power and energy quickly diminishes, causing a Pokémon to faint soon after they won the match."
