Charlie the Charmeleon and Leaf the Bayleef spent a lot of time together in the school holidays at the end of the year. When school begun again at the beginning of the next year, Charlie had returned for the last year. while Leaf has finished school. Charlie remembered her graduation ceremony. He was teary eyed and cheered her on as she walked on the wooden stage to wear the graduation hat. What's different about this year compared to last year, is that Jack the Wartortle and Neville the Krokorok didn't bully Charlie at all! They kept to themselves, still sulking over Jack's defeat on the finals of the School Battling Tournament. Without Leaf to keep Charlie company, and even Jack and Neville to bully him, Charlie felt lonely at school. The topics on the final year of school were very complicated, and it didn't help that Leaf wasn't there is encourage him. Instead, Charlie spent the time after school going over topics with Leaf, particularly Pokémon History, which Leaf was good at.
In Advanced Pokemon Science, they were expected to learn about the science of Mega Evolved Pokémon, the nature of Tera crystals Tera-transforming Pokémon in the Paldea region, the science of giant Pokémon exclusively found in the Galar region, called Dynamax and Gigamax Pokémon, and the science of legendary Pokémon maintaining balance in the Pokémon world. Charlie also learnt about nature herbs and vitamins that gives pokemon powerful buffs to their fighting abilities once consumed, but they are very expensive, and also their use needs to be moderated as too many herbs and vitamins were very bad for a pokemon's health and was very addicting to consume.
In Pokémon Advanced History classes, Charlie learnt about the history of the legendary dogs, Entei, Suicune and Raikou and the Burnt Tower in Johto, and the story of an evil Pokémon named Pechurant, how he took control three Pokémon, Okidogi, Munkidori and Ferzanpiti whom killed a human man and scared a kind Pokémon named Ogrepon to isolate herself in a cave in a land between Johto and Kanto called Kitatami.
And finally, in Advanced PE, Charlie learnt several new moves, including Dragon Tail, which inflicts damage on his opponent and temporality knock them out of the battle, allowing him to perform additional moves in a short time frame, and rest - falling asleep in the middle of the battle to regain all the health. But it was very difficult to perform it, as frankly, it wasn't easy to fall asleep during the middle of a battle knowing that his opponent will be free to attack him when he asleep and wake up not knowing how much damage will have inflicted on him. And Charlie finally learnt the infamous move, Bite that his rival, Jack the Wartortle has been using for many years. It was just the teachers weren't sure if his evolutionary line, Charmander, Charmeleon, and Charizard was able to learn it.
One day, Mother Charizard took Charlie home, saying that she has a big surprise for him! Charlie wondered what it was, and when he tried imagining it could be, Charlie couldn't figure it would be. Getting off her back, Charlie embraced himself for the surprise. Mother Charizard was walking up to him, a toothy grin.
"The surprise is here!" Charlie's mother said warmly. "Follow me."
Following his mother, Charlie caught the sight of something nestled inside of Mother Charizard's bedding. Realizing what it was, Charlie gasped and let out a cry of pure shock.
A Pokémon egg was nestled inside his mother's bedding! A Pokémon egg! It was orange and had an orange circle in middle of it. Charlie knew that was a Charmander egg, there was no mistaking it! Charlie was getting a baby brother or sister!
Finally, Charlie spoke. "I'm getting a baby brother and sister!" He let out a squeal of excitement (though it actually sounded like growling) and gently hugged the egg with his scaly red arms.
"You are getting a little sister, Charlie. Avery, the Alakazam, the leader of the FPC identiified the baby's gender as female."
"Wow! A baby sister!" Said Charlie excitedly, his tail fire burning brighter than usual.
