JULES SAT IN A ROOM FOR WHAT
felt like forever. She didn't want to be there even better. She did not want to hear Brian's voice. Guess he couldn't keep his promise. "Hey, Tyler, we got a transfer." He said to the other cop before walking over to Jules.

"You want to come with me?" He asked. Jules wanted to stay, but she'd rather be anywhere than a police station that's been bothering her since she got back. Jules sighed, standing up, following the now dirty blonde.

The old lovers went to the cafe. It was mostly empty, so no one could bother them. Jules ordered a coffee and didn't say a word. She just observed Brian. He'd changed immensely and didn't look like the reckless guy he used to be. He looked more strict, put together.

But Brian thought the same. To him, Jules didn't look that much different. Her hair was longer, but he could tell she repaired the most damage. But the walls weren't as thick as he thought. It was like she just let go.

"I'm almost done." She said, looking into her half-empty mug. "Why don't you tell me why you dragged me here, Brian? I told you to back off." Jules said, looking up at him. Brian sighed, leaning back into his seat, readjusting himself.

"You know they're gonna capture Dom. Maybe worse. I don't want you getting tangled up in this. So stay away from him." Brian said, more like ordered. Jules rolled her eyes before letting out a breathy laugh.

"That's what you have to say to me after five years." Jules sneered. "All of a sudden, you care what happens to me," Jules said as she felt anger rose at the fact that he wants her brother behind bars after he let him go once.

"What I did to you was wrong. Both times. I'm sorry. It was, it was the hardest thing I ever had to do." Brian said, looking directly at the girl.

"I'm sorry, too, Brian. I'm so sorry that you had to come into my home and pretend to love me. I'm so sorry that you ripped my family apart. I'm very sorry that that was hard for you." Jules spat out, holding back angry tears.

"I lied to you. I lied to Dom. Mia. I lied to everybody. That's what I do best. It's why the feds recruited me." Brian said. Jules sighed at the man who built up walls to hide himself from destruction.

"Maybe you're lying to yourself. Maybe you're not the good guy pretending to be the bad guy. Maybe you're the bad guy pretending to be the good guy. You ever think about that?" Jules asked, tilting her head.

"Every day." Jules nodded at his words before getting up to leave. As she got close to the door, she turned back around and walked back to Brian. You know Mia always wondered why you let my brother go that day, but so do I."

"I don't know." He responded. "Great answer, but if my brother needs my help, don't stand in my way." With that, she left Brian and went back to her home to help Dom.

As Jules sat in a cab, she got a text on her burner phone. "Braga." It said with details underneath. She smirked, knowing it was Dom. Racing just got its way into her bones again. See you soon, Royal blue 2000 Honda s2000.
