JULES FOUND HERSELF BEING IN
the one place she didn't want to be. Arguing with her brother. It was rare to see the Toretto siblings fight, especially in a public setting. The two would bicker in a joking manner, but this time it was serious."I have respected you and I haven't said shit, and now I am asking you not to go." Jules begged as tears welded in her eyes. "Jules, I'm doing this for the three of us." Dom tried to explain. "No, don't give me that shit. You're not doing this for me or Mia. You're doing this for you." Jules spat, upset.
"Why are you insisting on doing this?" Jules asked, and Dom ignored her again. "Dom, please, just don't." Jules begged once again. Dom hopped into his car, with Leon and Vince following behind. Jules sighed deeply, pushing her hair back while tears flowed down her face as she watched her family drive away.
Jules turned around and walked back to the trailer. She saw Brian race towards her. "Jules, what's going on?" He asked urgently, as Jules ignored him. "You know what I'm talking about." He pressed. "No, I don't, Brian." Jules answered, not wanting to talk to anyone. Not even Brian.
"Oh, so what, you always have tears in your eyes when Dom drives away?" Brian questioned, frustrated. "What is the matter with you?" Jules asked, not liking the interrogation she was getting. "Come on. What's your brother racing off in the middle of the night for?" Brian argued with the girl.
"I'm talking about the trucks. You know about the trucks?" Brian shouted with furrowed brows. "No, Brian! What trucks?" Jules yelled back. "Jesus Christ." She whispered under her breath while walking ahead of Brian. Brian grabbed Jules' upper arm, turning her to face him. "Listen to me." He begged, searching her eyes.
Brian hated the pain he was about to cause Jules. He'd actually grown to like the girl, and a part of him was going to break too. Brian knew he couldn't keep lying, as the truth was bound to come out.
"Julianna, I'm a cop." He admitted, using her first name. Jules felt her eyes flutter, trying to stop the tears. "What are you talking about, Brian?" Jules asked, shaking her head as she pulled her hand away. "Ever since the first time I met you, I've been undercover. I'm a cop." Brian said to the girl, watching her face morph into hatred.
Jules wanted this to be some kind of bad dream, and she wanted to wake up. Why did it have to be him? Why did she have to fall for him? "You son of a bitch. You really did it." She fake laughed while clenching her jaw, and tears rushed to her eyes.
Jules turned to walk away from Brian, wanting to go home. "Jules!" Brian called, grabbing her from behind. "Get off of me, Brian!" Jules shouted, slapping his hands away. "Jules, listen to me. Everything I ever said I felt about you was real. I swear to God. You have to believe me, Jules." Brian said it as he meant every word.
"But right now, this isn't about you and me. Your brothers out there. He's about to pull a job, and we're running out of time. Those truckers, they're not laying down anymore. Maybe they'll make it through tonight, but every single law enforcement agency in California's coming down on 'em." Brian warned the girl.
"If you don't want anything to happen to your brother, to Letty, to Leon, to Vince, you have to just get in that car with me right now. You have to help me." Brian begged the girl. All Jules could do was watch as the person she was falling in love with was now a cop asking her for help. She couldn't handle it.
"Jules, you are the only person that can help me right now. Please Jules." Brian begged again, looking into her heartbroken eyes. Jules thought about it for a second. "I'm not doing it for you." She said, walking to his car. While in the car, Brian gave Jules a map of the possible location.
"Civics are stashed somewhere outside of Thermal." She told the boy. "And they wouldn't double back, and Highway 10's just way too well patrolled. So, what does that leave us with?" Brian questioned the girl. "That leaves us with all this." Jules said, circling a big section on the map.
Brian took his eyes off of Jules and looked at the road before taking his phone out and calling someone. "Yeah, this is Officer Brian O'Conner. Serial number 34762. I need a cell phone trace." Jules tensed at Brian's words, knowing what he wanted her to do.
"Jules, what's his cell phone number?" Brian asked. Jules stayed quiet, kissing her teeth. "Come on, Jules. She needs Dom's cell phone number now." Brian handed her the phone. Jules hesitantly placed it on her ear. "323-555-6439." She told the person while looking at Brian, making sure he saw her pain.
Brian and Jules continued to drive straight into the middle of nowhere. Waiting for the dreadful call. The cell rang as Brian answered it quickly; it wasn't a long call, but it was efficient. "Let me see this." He said, taking the map from Jules' hands.
"All right, I think we're about 40 miles away." Brian said, mostly to himself. "What are you gonna do?" Jules asked as Brian ignored her. "What are you gonna do to my family?" She asked quietly enough for Brian to hear. Brian felt guilt take over; he was about to ruin the only family she had left.
"Letty. Leon." Jules whispered, seeing both her friends at a wrecked car. Jules looked at Brian, seeing him focused on the truck. Soon the two passed Dom, getting closer to Vince. "Here, take the wheel." He ordered the brunette as he popped the hood. "What do you mean?" Jules asked him like he was crazy.
"Take the wheel. Put your foot on the gas! I'm gonna get him. Put your foot on the gas!" Brian shouted, causing Jules to crawl over, putting her foot on the gas and taking control of the wheel.
"Get me a little closer!" Brian yelled as Jules moved close enough for him to jump. The words between the two men were incoherent to the girl, but she moved closer, noticing Vince's state. A gunshot rang out as Brian jumped on the car after Vince.
The truck then proceeded to hit the car, causing them to go off the road. Jules stopped the car, dragging Vince from it and applying pressure to his wound. "If we don't get him to an ambulance in ten minutes, he's dead." Brian said as Dom ran over. "Jules, do not take any pressure off; you got that." Brian said as the girl nodded in response.
Brian opened his phone, dialling a number. "Yeah, this is Officer Brian O'Conner, I'm off-duty M.A.P.D. I need a Life Flight rollout right away. My 20 is, uh, Highway 86, mile marker 147. I got one trauma victim, about 24 years of age. Six foot, maybe 200 pounds." Brian continued to talk as Jules watched anger build in her brother.
Jules shook her head, not wanting to lose someone else. The ambulance arrived quickly as they took care of Vince. Jules looked back and forth between her lover and her family; tears fell from her eyes, leaving Brian behind. Because family above all.
