IT WAS A LATE NIGHT FOR MOST
people, but for people like Jules and other racers, it was another night of entertainment. Jules followed Dom up the stairs. She kept her hands in her pockets of her leather jacket and let her gaze wander.

Her eyes drifted to the pool table a couple of feet from her. Seeing Brian bent forward, lining up his shot. Brian must've felt the heated gaze on him as he looked up, seeing both the back of Jules and Dom facing him.

"Two Coronas." Jules said to the bartender, while she leaned her elbows on the bar, letting out a deep sigh. "You even allowed to be in a club." Dom joked. "Not sixteen anymore, but even then-"

"That's too bad about Dwight." Brian cut Jules off, taking a seat to her left as she took a sip and glared at him. "Having the feds raid your house the same night you made the team. So unfortunate." Brian said, making Jules scoff.

"I wish I could say I was surprised to see you here," Dom said, smugly. "I wonder what's stopping people from telling them you're a cop," Jules grumbled, looking at Brian.

"Probably the same thing that's keeping me from telling them why you two are really here." He responded, never breaking contact with Jules. "What up, fellas?" Campos said from behind. Jules turned to face him, watching as he put a hand on Brian and Dom's shoulder.

Campos made the three follow him to what looked like a VIP lounge in Jules' eyes. "How's your car? It took a nasty bump." Campos asked, while Jules took a seat beside Dom. "It'll be ready." Brian responded, taking a seat on the other couch opposite Jules.

"I also heard you guys got out of county." Campos added. Jules's head lifted with an amused look as she looked at Brian. "Really?" Dom had the same look. "You know a guy named Jim Garcia."

"Nah. Big place. Lotta names, lotta faces." Brian responded, keeping his stern look. "And you two. You're wanted by a lotta people, homes." Campos said towards Dom. "Yeah. That kind of heat can't be good for business." Brian commented.

"Yeah. Well, that depends on how you look at things. I go down, I do time. I do real time. I don't know about your other drivers, but when I see flashing lights in my mirror, I don't stop." Dom explained. "Amen." Jules sighed out.

"And what about you? Racing princess. That's what they call you. No record, no nothing." Campos said, impressed. Jules looked at Brian before looking back at Campos. "I knew a guy. He taught me everything before he was killed." Jules responded, shooting daggers at Brian.

"Do you know each other?" Campos asked. "He used to date my sister." Dom answered after Brian chuckled. "I see. You're a lucky man." Campos told Brian. "How's that?" "Because you dated her and you're still breathing." Campos said as Jules let out a breathy laugh.

Campos raised his glass. "To the ladies we've loved and the ladies we've lost. Salud." While the men raised their glasses, Jules stayed put, not seeing a reason to cheer on something that involved her.

"So, what's Braga about?" Brian asked. "You know, he's just one of us. Come up from the streets. Down for el barrio. Now he's a shot caller. The boss of bosses." Campos started. Jules paid close attention to his words, trying to scope out anything in particular for what she was looking for.

"See all these cats in here?" Any one of them would die for Braga." "Including you?" Brian asked. "Especially me." Campos said sincerely as a man came up whispering to him.

"Enjoy the party, fellas. Clubs yours. Whatever you want  — booze, broads, it's all good." Campos rushed out, leaving quickly. "Bragas mine." Brian said once Campos was out of sight.

Jules scoffed, "I'd like to see you try." Brian looked at her, sitting up a bit. "I'm taking the whole house down." He said, getting up. "Good luck." Dom said while getting a shot from some chick.

Jules couldn't help but think over Brian's words. Although his plan didn't meet theirs, she still felt something at the sternness in his voice. Jules saw two men talking from a far and Dom watching carefully. "Go, I'm partied out." She said before leaving the club.
