A/N: Didn't dream again today, so let's get started!

Earbuds in his ears blasting music, the beat vibrated his entire body.

(A/N: A bit off....)

The skin of his thighs under my head was soft, his mind lost in the book within his hands

The skin of his thighs under my head was soft, his mind lost in the book within his hands. My form laid on the couch with my head on his lap, staring at the ceiling without much thought. Restless, I sat up slowly with a loud sigh blowing my hair in front of my face.

The day had been set off by the entire morning being thunderstorms, the plans I had put together with Hanse instantly ruined by the dull weather. The park was flooded and too dangerous to go roller skating, opting out for laying on the couch and resting instead. The smile on his lips was warm when I turned to look at him, his index finger and thumb pulling at one of the buds to hear himself laugh at me.

"Not so easy sitting still, is it?" he asked, the tone of his voice confident. My nose scrunched, arms cross over my chest with another huff. "Oh, lighten up. There are going to be plenty of other chances for us to go rollerskating in the park."

"We got rained out, Hanse." I said softly, eyes boring into his bright ones.

"So what?" he said. Standing, his thumb pressed over the pause button to his music, tossing the book onto the coffee table in front of the sofa. "There are plenty of other things to do inside."

"Like what?" I asked, eyes squinted at him in annoyance.

"Like-" he began, the last letter of the word being drug out as he peered around the room. "-ah!"

His voice chimed, humming to himself as he disappeared into my room. Little noise derived from his plan, returning to the living room with my pillows and blankets cascaded over his body. The soft fabrics plummeted to the ground, a loud screech coming from the coffee table as he moved it against a far wall. My eyes trailed him, watching the blankets be spread out and placed underneath heavy objects such as candles and decorations. As Hanse went on, his shenanigans became more reasonable, a fort built over the couch where I sat as he crawled into the warm space wearing a smile. Clicking on the little switch to my string of lights, the shielded area looked cozy and welcoming.

"You're ridiculous." I laughed at him, watching his body fall onto the soft pillows and stretch out from within the entrance.

"Hey, nothing's better than a generic blanket fort on a rainy day!" he gleamed.

I couldn't argue as you crawled inside, the heat from our bodies radiating the small space and bringing warmth to my body. The cold air from outside nearly chilled me down to the bone, most of the morning spent with me shaking under a blanket after I made it outside to find the cold rain splashing all around. Hanse being constantly aware, a considerate presence, already began to heal the plans previously ruined by creating the simple fort. He layed back against a large pillow, arm bending and placed behind his head. Instantly relaxed, his eyes shut, chest rising and falling as he neared a rest.

"Well, it's not fun if you fall asleep." My soft voice made his lips break into another smile, chuckle high pitched as his eyes shot open.

His torso lifted off the soft pillows, hips ground into the blankets on the floor as he turned onto his side. Hand still beneath his head, his eyes caught sight of my lost frame with your legs crossed, laughing at me harder. His body pushed up off the floor, his hands wrapping around your ankles to straighten my legs and bring me forward. Brows threaded together in confusion, the shape of his face changed, cheeks sucked in as he focused.

One of his hands released from my limbs, his pinky placed out for my own to grip. I hesitated, not understanding the arrangement he was baiting but still allowing my single digit to wrap around his. The soft blink of his eyes made my breath quicken, his tongue running over his lips from nervousness.

"Why were you so stuck on us going out today?" he asked.

His request for my finger made sense, a habit both of us gained inside of my friendship. Pinky swear that I wasn't going to lie or make up an excuse, tell the full truth and only that, or accept the consequence.

"Uhm," I hummed, his eyes dead set on watching your response. My guts twisted as my response rolled off my tongue, reasonings only bearing my love for him. "You went on a date last week, and you said it didn't go well." I began, a deep sigh pulling from his lungs. He knew that I read his face the moment he had made it back to my apartment, falling onto my mattress beside me to sleep in a comfortable space and forget the fact that his long-time crush finally accepted his date requests, but walked out half-way through. "I wanted to do something that would take that spotlight. Something to replace the bad memory with something nice and fun."

"I don't deserve you." He whispered, pulling my hand into his to kiss at my knuckles.

"Yes, you do, Hanse." I laughed, rolling my eyes at the man I had spent more time with than my own family, a true soul mate. "But like I said," I sighed deeper than him, eyes catching sight of the comfortable fort all around the two of you. "We got rained out, so things didn't go according to plan."

"I don't know." He chuckled, eyes glistening in the light of the Christmas lights illuminating the small space. "I'm having a pretty good amount of fun right now." He grinned.

"Really?" I asked, biting my tongue with a smile.

"Of course, I'm here with you." He smiled harder, eyes crescent from his rosy cheeks covering them. "It's a day well spent."
