A/N: So I dreamt that I was in twon and it was on another school day. I remembered that I don't even have my bad with me and that's when I saw my dad who was planning to take the bus. Lukcily, he didn't and we headed back home immediately.
Then I seem to dream about a horror movie of some sort that's mixed with an adventure. With all that said, let's get started with this story!
-----------------------------------------------------
My heart sunk as I read through yet another headline mentioning Yeonjun's name, this time with them suggesting a relationship between him and Lia as the two of them were photographed waving too each other the night before during a broadcast, as polite to each other as always.
"What's that face for?" Yeonjun asked me as he walked into the room, noticing the look of disgust that was on my face as I turned my phone around.
Yeonjun quickly walked over to me and started reading through the article, soon understanding why I had such a disapproving look on my face out of frustration.
(A/N: Yep...... that's my man right here. A bit faded, but still my man.)
I wasn't quite sure why it all started, but it felt like every other day I was having to read through articles connecting Yeonjun to different idols. To start with, I could just ignore it, but slowly it was beginning to wear me down and make me feel pushed aside.
"Your fans seem pretty excited about the thought of you dating Lia in the comments too," I added as Yeonjun handed my phone back to me, a weak smile forming on his face.
He could tell that I was far from impressed, letting go of a sigh as Yeonjun sat himself down on the couch beside me. He didn't quite know how to react, he couldn't imagine how much it hurt me either, not knowing what to do to fix things.
"I'm sorry," was all that Yeonjun could say, running a hand through his hair.
"I'm fed up sitting here having to deal with this," I admitted, placing my phone away, "I know we agreed to be private for your career, but this wasn't part of the deal."
It was quickly driving a wedge between the two of us, as I felt more and more insecure in your relationship. I saw the idols that fans and journalists paired Yeonjun with, each one I felt more successful, and much better suited for Yeonjun than I was.
For a while Yeonjun had feared that I was giving up on him with how much I closed off from him, but now he was beginning to see that it was much more than that.
"Unfortunately, this is all just a part of being an idol," Yeonjun tried his best to explain to me. "I know that it's easy for me to sit here and tell you that the best thing to do is ignore it, but the only other way to stop people from doing this is by telling them about us."
Unlike Yeonjun, I didn't care who knew about your relationship, it wasn't something that I was embarrassed about, but I knew how damaging it could be.
"Do you want for them to stop?" I asked Yeonjun, knowing that whether I went public or not was solely up to him.
Truthfully, Yeonjun didn't know what he wanted, his head and his heart often pulled him in two different directions as to what the right thing would be to do.
"We can't carry on like this when it's hurting you reading through all of these headlines."
There were plenty of people who knew about my relationship, all of which helped keep it quiet. Our families, our friends, and most importantly Yeonjun's company were all aware of what was going on between the two of them, with some understanding our need for privacy, whilst others failed to see why we couldn't go public.
"And what about you if we went public?" I then asked Yeonjun.
"If trouble came my way, then I'd just have to ride it out."
The last thing that he wanted was to risk losing me, a prospect that seemed to be more and more likely as the number of pairings that Yeonjun found himself being a part of increased, pushing me aside more and more at the same time.
"I can't keep feeling defeated with all of these headlines."
"I appreciate that," Yeonjun promised me, "it might be hard at first, but I think going public is the right thing to do right now for us."
Whilst I didn't want to drive Yeonjun into deciding, I knew that my heart couldn't take the jealousy that came with seeing Yeonjun being partnered up with different idols any longer. Each time I read something new, my self-esteem dropped more and more, wondering if I really could compare.
"What do you think everyone else will think?"
A shrug of the shoulders came from Yeonjun, the only two people that mattered for him in the decision were the two of us.
"If anyone wants to say something, let them, but I won't listen."
My smile turned up slightly as Yeonjun wrapped his arm over my shoulders, pulling me a little closer into his side to make sure that I knew that he meant everything that he said.
Whether we remained private, or went public, it was always going to provide us with a challenge one way or another. But at least if the two of us were public, we could face the challenges together rather than leaving me feeling as if I was struggling all alone.
"I'll speak to management tomorrow," Yeonjun assured me, "they'll know the right way to do things to make sure that no one gets hurt along the way."
My head nodded as I rested down against Yeonjun's shoulder. "There are going to be so many disappointed fans knowing that you already have a partner and that there's no chance of you dating the idols that they all want you to."
None of that mattered to Yeonjun, there were bound to be a few disappointed people, but he didn't care about that. He was proud to date me, failing to see any reason to keep me a secret from anyone else any longer, especially when I was suffering being kept in the dark.
"I have a feeling that they'll be plenty of people bitter towards me," I noted too.
"Let them," Yeonjun told me, "no matter if people are rude to you, or dislike you, we can face it together. The opinions of everyone else don't matter to me, you're the person that I want to make happy at the end of the day."
I smiled appreciatively back up to Yeonjun once again, trusting that I was in safe hands. It would be tricky, but I'd be together, and after feeling alone facing so many headlines, I was pretty relieved about it too.
Not only Yeonjun, but I had plenty of other people supporting me too, with all of the boys high up on that list of people with us both.
"We'll be alright," Yeonjun whispered as your eyes turned down to the floor, "it might be tricky, but it will all pass, they'll soon find something else to talk about."
"What will they talk about when they can't talk about you and Lia?"
A soft chuckle came from Yeonjun, "maybe they'll start deciding to partner up Soobin to one of the idols, there's four other members for them to pick from."
"At least they're all single," I smiled, "they could have picked any member to embroil in dating rumours, and it had to be the one that was taken."
"No one knew that though," he reminded you, "but soon they will, and hopefully that will finally encourage them all to stop."
I hummed back to him, "do you think they will stop pairing you up?"
"I really do hope so."
---------------------------------------------------------
A/N: I think me being in a public realtionship withg Yeonjun will be better than in a private one. We might get backlash, but that doesn't mean we don't have a right.
Anyway, see you next time!!!!!
