You smiled appreciatively across at Jessi as she walked you down to the reception of the building after a morning of planning ahead of her next comeback.

(A/N: God damn.)

The paperwork was all held tightly in your hand, ready to get home and organising

The paperwork was all held tightly in your hand, ready to get home and organising.

Around you, several members of staff passed by, greeting Jessi as they always did, as well as offering you a smile as she proudly introduced you to them all, bragging about the hard work that you were doing for her preparations.

And as you said goodbye, as soon as she spun on her heels to head back to her studio, she came face to face with Hyunah, who wore an intrigued glance on her face.

"What's that look for?" Jessi questioned, stepping past her to continue her walk, with Hyunah following behind her. "Are you jealous or something that I'm working with Y/N?"

"No way," she chuckled as the two stepped into the elevator, "this look is one of confusion, I don't get how you've not been able to pick up on the signs, you really can be stupid sometimes too?"

Jessi glared across at her, "what have I got to be stupid about?"

Hyunah's head shook as she beckoned for Jessi to follow her as they arrived on the floor of the building that had most of the rehearsal rooms, leading Jessi to her studio.

With the door locked behind them both, Hyunah invited Jessi to take a seat on the sofa at the back of her studio, pulling her desk chair across so that she could sit and talk to her properly.

"Have you got time for a coffee?" Jessi questioned the following day as you returned to go over some more of your plans, taking the familiar walk down to the reception as you did most days.

"With you?" You asked in response, surprised by such an offer when you knew just how busy Jessi could be. "Haven't you got a song to be working on or a dance to be learning? You don't want to waste your time drinking with me."

"Nonsense," Jessi smiled, turning you and pushing you in the direction of the café on the ground floor. "I've got some things to talk to you about," she whispered, with her conversation from yesterday still playing in the back of her mind.

Rather than argue, you walked across to the café, finding a quiet table at the back for the two of you to sit at whilst Jessi went to the counter and ordered two coffees over to your table. As she did, a familiar figure appeared behind her in the queue.

"I see you took my advice," Hyunah whispered into her ear, looking between the two of you, "just remember what I said to you yesterday and I promise that you'll be alright."

The things Hyunah had told her yesterday had carried with Jessi all night long, her mind was clouded with the pieces of information that she learnt. Her meeting with you was more unproductive then ever before, all thanks to Hyunah.

As she returned to the table that you had picked out for you both, a smile found it's way onto Jessi's face. You smiled anxiously back across at her, unsure as to why she had asked you to drink with her, or what the intentions behind it were too.

"Did you want to talk more about work?" You asked her.

"No, I was actually thinking we could not talk about work, for once, if that's alright with you?"

"Of course," you tentatively replied, "you're the one that's given me the contract, so whatever you say goes, right?"

Her head shook as she chuckled at the shyness in your voice. She could still remember what Hyunah had told her, how she could always tell when you were coy around Jessi, as your voice would falter, and your volume would drop significantly.

"I don't really know how to say what I want to say, so you'll have to forgive me," she laughed.

Your head nodded, trusting in her wide smile. "If you've got anything you want to say, then I'm not going to judge you for it."

Her head nodded, thankful as ever for your understanding. Her eyes looked away from you for a moment, watching on as Hyunah took her coffee from the staff, thanking them, before sending a look and a smile across to Jessi, reassuring her.

"Have I done something wrong?" You asked in a panic after being left momentarily with your own thoughts, "or have I said the wrong thing?"

"No," she grinned, turning her attention back to you, "in fact, you've done a lot right. Has anyone ever told you how amazing you are Y/N? How kind, and thoughtful, and beautiful you are? I want you to know how lucky I feel to be able to have you work with me, and your friendship too."

Your head nodded nervously, not quite able to find the words to reply with. "You're welcome," you ended up replying, shaking your head at yourself as you debated whether or not it was the right approach for you to have taken.

Your actions brought an even wider smile onto Jessi's face. "I love how oblivious you are to how special you are to so many people, especially how special you are to me?"

"I'm special to you?" You asked, almost laughing at how ridiculous it sounded. She had plenty of people around her, many of which you could never compare to, there was far from anything different, or special, to you.

Her head nodded as she held her hand out across the table, tapping her nails against the table until you took a hold of her hand. A shiver ran down your spine as you brushed against her touch, feeling her fingers intertwine in with your own.

"I was oblivious too, when I shouldn't have been," she confessed, only leaving you more confused. "I spoke to Hyunah yesterday, and she told me all about the signs you'd been dropping, the hints that I'd failed to pick up whenever you were around me."

"I didn't want to let on too much," you admitted in reply to her nervously, staring off at the ground, "I thought that I'd probably end up making a fool of myself, that there were so many other people out there who would be better for you, I hoped I could just ignore my feelings."

"I'm glad that you didn't," she assured you, "and by the way, it's you. You're the one I want, no one is better for me."

Your head shook as she squeezed your hand, requesting that you looked back across at her again. "Are you sure about that? Because I've had people say that to me before, and then they usually end up finding someone better than me further along the line."

Jessi's head shook as she continued to meet your gaze, "I promise you right now that I've never been surer about anything in my life, except perhaps for that dress you designed last week for Music Bank, that one was pretty cool."

"Does that mean I've got the job?"

"As my partner? The job was always yours anyway."
