thirty.

'Only an hour and a half left Lucia, you can do it!' I told myself as I slumped back down into my wooden seat furthest away from Remus as he taught. Remus was getting very close to his transformation and he looked very ill, filling all my thoughts about what would happen if he turned here at Hogwarts.

Whilst everyone wrote up the answers for the quick quiz Remus had given us about Dementors - which I obviously had already finished - I went to speak to him at the front of the class.

"Finished already Lucia?" He smiled, I nodded in return, "That's not why you are up here though is it?" I nodded again.

"I'm worried." I admitted.

"...about?" Remus asked seriously.

"You. The dementors. What if..." I quietened my voice into a very low whisper, "What if you turn? What if the Dementors misunderstand and see you as a threat? They aren't very forgiving, you know that."

Remus chuckled slightly, "I'll be fine, you need to sleep more."

"I'm serious!" I raised my voice slightly above a whisper.

"Well, let's make sure you can perform a patronus charm to protect us all from them then, ay?" He laughed again, earning him a very harsh look from me. He knew for a fact that if we were not in school right now I would have given him a very hard punch to the shoulder.

Standing up with the rest of the class, we all practiced conjuring our pratonus' since it was our last day on the topic of Dementors. I still was incapable of conjuring one when it was time to move on to our next lesson but I refused to leave.

I kept in mind Alex's words about how it doesn't have to be a single memory, or even a memory at all. I concentrated extremely hard on what made me happy. I thought of Tonks, Ted and Andromeda. I thought of Alex. I thought of Theo. I thought of the twins and Draco, Tyler, Robin and the girls. And surprisingly I found myself thinking about Oliver. I even thought about Belle and Remus and Hagrid and Lucifer. Through all of my happy thoughts I had forgotten I was even attempting to conjure a patronus until a large blue illuminated light appeared to shoot out of my wand happily, running around the room is a very quick manor making it almost impossible to see what animal it had taken the form of.

Remus clapped, his face full of enthusiasm and happiness, "Well done Lucia!"

A wolf. A large, big eyed, furry wolf pounced around the room happily leaving a trail of blue as its paws touched the none existing floor beneath it. It was magnificent! Remus had a look of pride and astonishment on his face because I knew for a fact that both his and Nymphadora's Patronus' were wolves too. Alex who had been watching ran straight up to me, picking me up in his arms and spinning me around excitedly.

"Well done ya beaut!" He cheered in his typical northern accent as he threw me over his shoulder. I laughed at his enthusiastic and overwhelming behaviour, hitting his backside in an attempt to put me firmly on the ground once more. He did as I wished and we both admired the way my patronus seeming to fade away, leaving dashes of blue dust to simmer away into the atmosphere around it. A couple girls in our class sent us looks at how me and Alex interacted with each other. I sighed and shoved Alex in their direction predicting he would be spending his day chatting up one of them. Instead of joining the group of flirtatious Slytherin girls he didn't acknowledge my shove and continued to stand by my side. Remus patted me on the back and gave me a quick hug before sending me off to my next lesson.

With Alex by my side we strolled together through the halls of Hogwarts, greeting ghosts as we went by. A couple of ghosts commented on how cute of a couple we were and we just laughed it off. Many people who didn't know us had assumed me and Alex were together because of our bond. We took it in all good gesture.
