thirty one.

"Aww what? Mummy didn't sign your permission slip ay Lestrange?" The taunting laughter came from across the courtyard. I felt as if avoiding any confrontation today would be best especially since I was highly emotional, but of course, my incapability of giving up would not allow me to turn my back on Flora's cruel words.

What was with her?

"Aww what? Mummy get one of her house elves to finally forge her signature because she's too busy attending to her fifth husbands every need to pay attention to her daughter?" I smiled, a fire fueled by anger bubbling inside of my stomach.

I didn't even realise Flora had lunged for me until she had me by the collar against the stone pillar walls of the Courtyard.

"You think you're so clever Lestrange. You don't know me or my family. I could destroy you." She started.

A deep voice from a towering familiar face spoke up from directly behind Flora, "I suggest you run along before I get you expelled, because I could do it. And I would."

Jackson.

It was like Jackson was in complete control of Flora and everything she did. The grasp she had around my shirt collar was immediately loosened and her rough exterior was withered away and she scurried rather quickly away from the scene, not making any form of eye contact with Jackson and leaving me to fall to the floor with an uncomfortable thump.

"Where's my thank you?" Jackson asked not even ten seconds after the incident had taken place.

"Do I not even get time to compose myself?" I huffed, taking Jackson's hand he had offered to help me up from the ground.

"Are you okay?" He asked seriously.

"I'm fine. Flora doesn't scare me."

"I wouldn't expect her too. You just...look sick."

I immediately felt my face heating up. Either my period was taking a serious toll on me or the constant harassment from Flora and the others had finally started to weaken down how much I could use my powers to cover up all the bruises and scratches I had gained.

"Uuuh. I'm fine. The carriages are leaving soon you know? You better get on them if you want to go on the trip."

"I'll pass. You look sick. You shouldn't be on your own when your sick. What do you like to do? Lets do something fun."

"You're awful cheery. To think I thought you were cold and mysterious." I smirked.

Jackson looked at me seriously and asked, "Why would you think that?"

"Are you thick?" I laughed, "It's just your face. You have a very serious resting face."

Jackson let out a laugh that sounded more like a sigh, "I have to drop buy the Divination classroom to hand in my homework or I'll get detention. Wanna join?"

Of course I joined, although half way up the stairs to the Divination classroom I wish I hadn't because I was clearly struggling. Why we came up through the North Tower entrance was beyond me considering it was much more difficult to get to than entering through the main corridors. Although, the view of the old attic-like room at the top was worth it.

As we wondered up the stairs I stared at the back of Jackson's head. What was that with Flora earlier? Why had she had just automatically done as he said? I was starting to think that maybe there was something more going on to this harassment than just people simply being mean.

Upon arrival of the Divination classroom I immediately began to admire the astrology paintings and posters plastered over the walls, the numerous crystal balls catching the light of the slowly rising sun outside and the strong smell of tea leaves brewing whilst Jackson looked around somewhat frantically for Professor Trelawney.
