A/N: I WOULD LIKE TO REITERATE THAT THIS IS A SLOW BURN FANFICTION !!! I've had a few comments about this being long and would just like to say that I think my characters deserve good writing, backstories, problems and developments and not unrealistic thrown together quick 'i-love-yous'. Please respect that I want to build a character with Lucia as much as I want her to be with Oliver. I think it's important my OC has flaws and issues and a life of her own that doesnt revolve entirely around her romantic life. That being said... I hope you enjoy this chapter as it has been a long time coming ;)

"Are you sure that's what you saw?" Remus asked me, his face gaunt with worry.

"I promise," I said, "I know what I saw. It's been following me."

I had told him everything when he had gotten to me. Everything about the dog. Alex had stayed to listen too even though I'd tried not to let him at first. He'd been persistent. We had made our way inside now, out of the white powered covered grounds and away from the ever daunting presence of the dementors.

"Okay," Remus said slowly and calmly, handing Alex his second cup of tea as we sat in his office, "I believe you. You shouldn't worry about it, plenty of creatures make their way across the grounds. Perhaps it had taken a liking to you." Remus attempted to settle my nerves but I could see the lines in his face tense in thought. "I remember the Giant Squid taking a particular liking for a girl in my year when I was younger. I'll still inform the rest of the staff, but you shouldn't be running after it Lucia, after anything for that matter, especially into the Forest and especially under the circumstances."

"I know." I shook my head and looked to the ground, my ears only met with Alex's nervous sips from beside me.

"And you," Remus gave Alex a little smirk, "But you did the right thing going to get Hagrid and sending an owl for me. You were very brave."

Alex gulped a little and it was the first time I had ever noticed Alex without his matcho over confident persona he shrouds himself in publicly. He was a softy, guaranteed, but never so openly.

Remus sighed heavily, "Go on, you better get up to bed. It's getting late."

Alex rose quickly from his seat, eager to feel the safety of the dorm.

"Are you getting the train with everyone home tomorrow?" I asked.

"Actually, I'm staying for Christmas." He responded.

"What!" I asked in shock, "You're staying? Why didn't you tell me? What about Tonks? What about when you t-"

"I'll be fine. She already knows I've decided to stay," Remus cut me off, and it was a good job too as I seemed to have forgotten Alex was in the room, "I won't be alone. There's not many staying at Hogwarts this year but still enough to keep me company."
