Today was the day. Everyone was amped up for the game later on. The new additions to both Slytherin and Gryffindor teams only building to the excitement. Everyone was going to be there. Even Nymphadora said she would be attending, I'd finally get to see her!
My confidence about this game was very low. There wasn't a chance in hell we could win. I mean, we were a great team but Marcus was ruining us. It was obvious I wasn't too up for the game when I had changed into my gear, almost ready to be playing once more.
"You alright kid?" Adrian asked, giving me a big pat on the back as we entered the stands. Me next to Adrian and behind Marcus.
"I guess, this is going to suck." I sighed already giving up.
"Oy, I know Flint has been a little bit of a shit Captain, but you're a brilliant Keeper. Keep your head held high." He whispered, giving my shoulder a squeeze as the curtains raised and we mounted our brooms. I smiled at Adrian, he was another member of the team who also was completely against cheating.
The adrenaline inside me was at an all time high as I zoomed around the pitch hearing the cheers from the crowd below. As per usual, Lee Jordan introduced each team member as he did at the start of the season. Fred and George whizzed around the stands at the mention of their names, making me giggle. Soon enough, after very little complimenting the Slytherin team, Lee Jordan, with a warning look from Professor McGonagall, started on me.
"Last but not least, here is the almighty Metamorphmagus, the deathly sarcastic and best player the Slytherin team has ever seen. This girl could make you weep with one angry glare." I laughed at Lee as he made his announcement. "She could literally rip out your tongue and tie it around your throat-" he started once more only to be told off again, "But she probably wont do that unless you're Oliver Wood." Lee smirked into his mic. I smirked back at him, doing my famous back flips and giggling happily over the Slytherin stand my hair glimmering every colour of the rainbow I could think of. I sent Oliver a 'watch your back' look to which he just laughed at.
"Please welcome back, Miss Lucia Lestrange!" Lee Jordan bellowed into his mic, the audience clapping loudly to my amazement. Spotting Draco in the corner of my eye I whizzed closer towards the edge of the stand. "Good luck." He mouthed to me as I flew in and out of my goal hoops.
The air was cold and windy and I felt it hard to concentrate once the game had begun, focusing on not being so afraid. After a good and confident start from Gryffindor, Angelina Johnson was able to score 10 points to Gryffindor after shooting the Quaffle past me.
After Marcus' failed attempt at scoring past Oliver and Oliver's unnerving smirk after doing so, my mood was changed completely. All too suddenly did I want to win, to prove to the arrogant bastard we could! Soon after Harry very skillfully spotted the Snitch, so did Higgs, but as Harry sped towards it he was illegally blocked by Flint. For this, Madam Hooch awarded a penalty which Alicia Spinnet was going to take.
My attitude and ego was not going to be sent down today and so I successfully blocked her pass, my hair turning dark green to match my Slytherin festivity. Not long after these events had occurred I spotted Marcus snatching a bat off of which looked like Lucian Bole, hitting a Quaffle straight at Oliver and sending him straight threw his hoop and crashing into the sandy ground below.
"Mother of Merlin." I whispered, my attention not drawn into the game anymore. Slytherin had now scored and the crowd were going wild but I didn't care. Not only was Oliver injured but now Angelina was hurling towards the ground too.
"Marcus, this game is out of control what are you playing at!" I shouted over the cheers as Sytherin earned another 10 points, "This is not a fair game at all!"
"Who cares? If we are winning it doesn't matter!" Marcus shouted back.
"You selfish arsehole!" I shouted back to him and noticed pretty much the whole Gryffindor team, and house, were giggling at me.
"OLIVER!" I shouted as loud as I could to the very determined looking Gryffindor Keeper who was now rejoining the game. He looked over towards me, his angry glare disappearing within seconds and my stomach filled with butterflies. I knew I fancied him a bit but I didn't think I'd get butterflies off of him, I mean I don't like him that much do I? I knew my plan to hate him didn't last very long but I didn't care.
"You alright?" I mouthed to him.
"Great." He replied, his thumbs up making me smile weekly.
Soon enough Harry had sped off on his broom, a golden glimmer catching my eye and I smiled at his achievement, not too bothered about the fact Marcus had been hit in the face with a bludger, only now bothered about ending this god forsaken game. All of a sudden Harry was twirling crazily about on his broom, almost falling off at every swing. I could see he was desperately trying to control himself but without any luck. His broom was being tampered with!
Nothing could stop my focus on Harry. Not the fact Alicia had just scored past me. Not the fact Oliver looked hurt. Not the fact Marcus was moaning down below about my poor game play. Not even the fire that broke out in the teachers stand. I flew straight towards Harry.
"Lestrange has abandoned her position to, what looks like, help the opposite team's Seeker Harry Potter!" Lee Jordan announced over the mic. Harry had now only his one arm holding onto his broom. I stuck out my hand, "Come on Potter! Give me your hand!" I shouted. He reached out and grabbed onto me and I helped swing him back onto his broom. The crowd cheered loudly.
After a short thank you I let Harry get back to chasing the snitch and watched as he battled it out against Terence. Both Seeker's were hurtling towards the ground after the golden object and as soon as Terence gave up, Harry had stood up on his broom! His arm outstretched towards the fluttering golden ball and all off a sudden he tumbled.
The crowd went dead silent as everyone watched in anticipation, ready to see the famous Potter boy throw up but instead out popped the Golden Snitch! I couldn't believe it! As the Gryffindor's celebrated I clapped in amazement, coming down from my position onto the ground.
"Nice one Harry!" I cheered to speckled boy a little bit away from me, "Never seen anyone do that before! Brilliant!"
Not long after the match had finished and I had finally gotten changed out of my Quidditch outfit did the Weasley twins come and tackle me in a hug.
"Hello boys!" I laughed, "You guys were brilliant today!"
"As always." George replied cheekily, "You weren't too bad yourself."
"Just came to tell you that Tonks was looking for you. She's up in the Courtyard with some other people." George explained.
"I almost forgot she was here!" I replied excitedly, "Thanks boys. I'll see you later I think!" I smiled ready to run off but Fred pulled me back a bit.
"I'm proud of you Lucia. I hope you know that." He smiled sincerely.
"Thank you Fred." I smiled at him, kissing his cheek and running off to find my best friend.

"NYMPHADORA!" I shouted running past some students, fellow team members and teachers to be tackled in a huge hug. Tonks was just slightly taller than me, her hair purple and her eyes now a hazel colour.
"You look beautiful Tonks." I complimented, "I missed you so much." I laughed, finally letting go of our hug.
"I missed you too hun." She smiled, "You did brilliant today, I'm so proud you're back to flying again! Even if you didn't win."
"Thanks, I'm just thankful I'm playing again to be honest."
After a long chat with Nymphadora about Quidditch and her work and how this year could well be a huge change in the Wizarding world she had to leave, much to my disappointment.
Soon she was gone, however not before saying a quick hello to Draco, which allowed me to get on with resting and homework before a celebration party I had been invited too tonight. It was obviously a Gryffindor party, but that never stopped other houses from attending. I wasn't a huge party animal but I sure would be attending this one.
I wonder how it would all play out?
