fifteen.
Soon enough the holidays were here. And it was my birthday, that's right, I was officially the youngest of my year. Gryffindor had won the house cup this year which was a change but news was, little first years Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger had defeated Voldemort. Who was apparently fused onto the back of Professor Quirrell's head. I sometimes question the sanity of Wizardry. Overall I think I was quite proud of Neville, he was actually the one who made the win of Gryffindor happen, even if I am a Slytherin. We won the Quidditch Cup though, so I didn't mind too much. Plus, Voldemort had been put to a stop to my amusement. You would of thought he would of learnt by now.
The train ride to platform 9 3/4 was like any other. Boring and surrounded by trees. I was debating on telling Nymphadora about my experience at Hogsmeade as I hadn't mentioned it to her as I was suppose to, but I was afraid of her reaction. There hadn't been any Parselmouth's at Hogwarts for around fifty years and even then it was quite strange. Did that mean I could possibly be related to Salazar Slytherin Himself? And if so, how could that be? I hated to think about the truth but was eager to know more. The only problem was, for that to happen I'd have to ask questions to a certain person I never want any contact with. My mother.
The train ride home always had me on edge and over thinking everything. I wasn't expecting much as me and my friends had agreed only one present at Christmas, we weren't made of money, but what a surprise I had when I got off of the train and was greeted by Tonks and Remus.
Shabby as always, his hair untidy and his eyes surrounded by dark circles, Remus greeted me with a hug as did Tonks, her hair bright purple and outfit blooming with colour. We saw a glimpse of Draco and Tonks looked really sad, after all he was her cousin too and they never spoke. I squeezed her shoulder in comfort. Remus suddenly pulled out an envelope from his worn out cloak and handed it to me.
"Happy birthday Dear." Remus said as I tore open the envelope. I couldn't believe my eyes. My heart was beating ecstatically and I struggled to speak, I was so excited. The smile on my face hurt so much but I couldn't stop. Inside were four shining tickets, two for a Puddlemere United match and another two for a signing later on.
"Mother of Merlin! How did you get these? These can't be real? Are they? Merlin, holy Merlin! MERLIN!" I couldn't stop the excitement bubbling within me.
"Sorry, did you say Merlin?" A familiar scottish accent piped up sarcastically behind me.
Remus leaned over and whispered, "Go ask him out already will you." And I blushed furiously.
I spun around and came face to face with Oliver wearing his cute wooly black turtle neck. "Wood! You will never guess what! Remus and Tonks got me Puddlemere United tickets! Merlin! I am so happy!" I smiled and Oliver poked my dimples.
"That's amazing!" He smiled and I heard someone calling his name from behind us. It was obviously his family as they were waving and smiling, ready to leave I presumed.
"I'll see you around Lu. Have a great Summer, I have to hurry!" Oliver rushed.
"Wait!" I almost shouted, "I-I um. I wanted to ask if you wanted to go. It's just, I don't know anyone else who appreciates Quidditch as much as you, apart from me of course." I blushed deeply.
"I would love to Lucia," He beamed, "I'll owl you about times and dates and stuff okay?" My heart skipped a little. He quickly pecked my cheek, winked and went on his way, his mum waving back to me. "Oh, and Happy Birthday!"
"That looked like it went well." Tonks teased and made kissy noises.
"You're worse than Peeves," I laughed, "Now hug me!" I demanded and was envoloped by both Tonks and Remus once more.
