sixteen.
It was a long Summer. I had kept in touch with everyone and regularly went on trips with Draco who kept growing every time I'd see him. Me and Oliver had kept in touch, but he seemed quite off and I didn't understand why. I wasn't one to push on a subject too much and after he ignored my question of why he had been acting so glum I didn't bother asking again.
The short Summer sun had finally given up and Autumn was on it's way, and so was school. I was especially excited when Draco sent me a letter:
Me and father will be going to Diagon Alley to shop before school starts and it would be much better with you to talk too. Please feel free to join us.
Andromeda and Ted said it was fine and I was to meet them around 11. The day couldn't come quick enough. As bad as it was to say, I enjoyed shopping with Lucius because not only was he well respected and allowed me and Draco to venture down Knockturn Alley, but he was full of money and insisted he pay for all of my things. At least he was good for one thing.
The day was soon here and I popped on my outfit and platted my out off control natural hair. We made our way into the busy bustling streets like every other Wizard and Witch did and headed straight for Knockturn Alley. Tonks always disliked it down here but me and Draco found it fascinating. It was all so creepy. Amazing!
Borgin and Burkes was the last place we visited before heading back to Diagon Alley. Truthfully, I had never been into this place but it was just like every other shop here, dimly lit and eery. The shop contained mostly cursed items which included a withering old hand, a collection of blood stained objects such as bones, a big black cabinet and other odd things stacked on all its shelves.
As per usual Lucius would stride in, his pompous nose held high and I did my best not to scoff at his outrageous behaviour. Ringing a small bell at the dusty counter and warning me and Draco to touch nothing (me being me and smirking, poking the counter next to me, much to the amusement of Draco.) Draco still decided to reach for a shining glass eye and ask about a present. He was soon talking endlessly about Harry Potter and Quidditch which peeked my interest.
"Well, I can of course put in a good word to Flint, and by good word I mean you're on the team because he does everything I say." I smirked and winked at Draco and he smirked too.
A greasy haired Mr Borgin had soon appeared before us and was now speaking with Lucius.
"Mr Malfoy, what a pleasure to see you again," Mr Borgin complemented, "Delighted - and young Master Malfoy, too - charmed. And Miss Lestrange - as beautiful as ever..." He and Lucius continued to talk about buying and selling which didn't interest me or Draco at all, until I heard the mention of a name.
"- flea-bitten, Muggle-loving fool Arthur Weasley is behind it -" I already felt my heart begin to race and my eyebrows frown. I sent silent daggers towards the back of Lucius' head as me and Draco continued to wander around the shop. Draco was now snarling about Hermione Granger which I rolled my eyes at. The scene went on as usual, Lucius haggling and me and Draco both wandering around, searching the shelves of objects for sale. We were soon on our way out into the dark and dodgy streets of Knockturn Alley, quickly hurrying through endless Dark Arts shops onto Diagon Alley.
"Give me that a second Draco." Draco passed me his book list and I scoffed, "I have to get all Gilderoy Lockhart's books as well." We decided to leave going into the bookshop for later and went exploring a little. We ended up in Quality Quidditch Supplies, admiring the latest broom when we overheard Lucius ordering seven new Nimbus 2001's! I couldn't believe it. Whilst me and Draco excitedly emerged from the shop we admired the broom from outside again.
