Today was thier first day of school in Smallville, Kate was excited to make friends plus she had always loved going to school. Kate was wearing a plain white tee with her camo jacket, black pants, and white vans, she thought her outfit was nice and cute while being comfortable. Jon and Kate had walked into school, Jordan had to stay home since Clark wanted to run some tests on Jordan.

"Hey, Kent," Marcus greeted as he walked up to her

"Marcus," Kate greeted back to the boy

"Where's your brother?" Marcus asked causing her to roll her eyes

"He's sick so he decided to stay home but I'm sure that he'll get over it soon," Kate explained to him

"So, I was thinking that we could get something to eat after school," Marcus suggested to the blonde

"Are you always this forward with other new kids?" Kate questioned in return

"So is that a no?" Marcus questioned out of confusion

"I gotta get to class," Kate remarked closing her locker

"Or you could skip with me," Marcus suggested once again

"No thanks, I plan on graduating," Kate scolded the boy

"Okay, Little Miss Perfect," Marcus commented with an eye roll

"Do not call me that," Kate stated stopping to look at him

"My mother and your father dated in high school," Marcus started to prove a point

"So?" Kate asked with a tone

"History always repeats itself," Marcus deadpanned making her chuckle

"Not in this timeline," Kate said before walking off

After school, Jon and Kate went home burned out from school. Kate usually likes school but she had most of her classes with Marcus who kept tossing notes and playing with her hair as she tried to do her schoolwork, she was glad when she got to go home only to find out that they were having dinner at the Cushings.

"You made it," Lana greeted as she opened the door

"Sorry, we're late," Clark spoke in response

"I am so glad that you guys could come, I'm embarrassed I didn't have you over sooner," Lana admitted to her friends

"Oh, yeah, no, don't be," Lois stated to comfort

"Oh, that, barbecues have become a bit of a tradition around here and everybody loves Kyle's grilling so please make yourselves at home, there is plenty of food," Lana spoke with a warm smile

"Hey, I'm gonna come find you in a bit, I wanna hear about practice," Clark started to his younger son

"Okay," Jon responded before walking off

"You just love me so much that you had to track down my house," Marcus remarked as he followed Kate

"Your mother invited my parents so naturally I came with and I didn't come for you," Kate scolded the boy

"Careful, people might start to think that we're together with the way you keep scolding me," Marcus remarked with a smirk before walking off

"Hey," Sarah greeted as they walked into the room

"Hey," Jon whispered in response

"So, I heard you had another tough one today," Sarah spoke looking at him

"Wow, you hear about everything, huh?" Kate joked with the girl

"Sean was over earlier and he told me," Sarah corrected herself

"If you don't mind me asking, what is it exactly that you see in that guy?" Jon asked in a tone

"He can be really sweet," Sarah defended her boyfriend

"Yeah, real sweet guy, especially on the football field," Jon remarked looking at her

"Okay, well, all that kissing stuff is gonna die down pretty soon," Sarah explained to comfort

"He should be mad at me, not Jon, I'm the one who did it," Jordan added in support

"Are you gonna come to school anytime soon?" Sarah asked as she was changing the subject

"If my parents ever let me," Jordan responded earning looks from his siblings

"Why wouldn't they let you go to school?" Sarah asked in confusion

"They don't think I have control over my issues. I thought we had it all figured out, but I guess not," Jordan covered to the girl

"Do you guys want some barbecue?" Sarah asked the Kents

"Uh, maybe in a bit," Kate responded before Sarah walked out

"So, um, what happened today?" Jon asked in a soft tone

"I found out I suck just as much as a Kryptonian as I do a human," Jordan admitted looking at his siblings

"So not so great?" Kate asked with a chuckle

"No, not great," Jordan deadpanned to his sister

"Come on, let's get some food," Jon stated before dragging them

They went to get something to eat, Marcus had come to sit next to Kate just to annoy her which caused her brothers to chuckle as she rolled her eyes in response. They had left a little after Clark did, Kate sighed as she plopped down on her bed. She rolled over to see her mother standing in the doorway of her bedroom.

"What is going on with you and Marcus Cushing?" Lois asked her daughter

"Nothing is going on, he's just being a pest and bothering me," Kate explained in an exasperated tone

"Sounds like you are very annoyed," Lois mocked with a chuckle

"Today at school he told me that history always repeats itself, what does that even mean?" Kate rambled to her mother

"Maybe, he likes you and this is his way of hinting at it," Lois suggested causing Kate to roll her eyes

"You can't like someone after only knowing them a week," Kate remarked to her mother

Lois shrugged her shoulders before leaving the room for Kate to start racking her brain to figure out what that meant. She knew for a fact that he couldn't like her mainly with how cold she was being towards him. After, an hour of her trying to think she gave up and decided just to go to bed, it had been a long day at school and at the cookout.
